  1. Dont get demotivated! Remember, Practice makes perfect! And for every nicely painted model you see online, there are at least 10 test-runs you dont see. The dark blue is GW Kantor Blue, and the lighter one is Caledor sky.
  2. Looks good! The light blue on the armor works very well with the golden details! I also finished painting some miniatures today. Here my first Dawnrider: I really like the idea of the Ymetrica Aelfs making heavy use of triangle patterns. So I added some to the little backbanners of the Dawnriders.
  3. Im already working on it! Zaitrec has a lot of usable symbolism, Syar on the other hand not so much. I really have to think about how to represent them.
  4. We know that Iliatha is a matriarchy, with mothers that have successfully raised a new generation ranking the highest. We also know from the Syar entry that their capital is called Ar-Ennascath, which implies that there is some form of centralized government. EDIT: Speaking of Iliatha, I also gave Iliathas Coat of Arms a try:
  5. The very first Idoneth City (and original home of the Ionrach Enclave) Gealrachi is located in the Gealus Ocean in Hysh. The Ymetrica map even shows two whirlways. So I think its safe to assume there are still multiple Idoneth settlements in the Realm of Light.
  6. Im not sure if this is the right place, but the battletome lore made me think a bit more about the different great nations, how they are run, how their culture differs from each other, and how the same unit type can look different in each nation. Im currently mostly thinking about Ymetrica. In my mind, Ymetrica is a theocracy ruled over by either high-ranking members of the Alarith temple, or philosophers that have climbed the teclian ladder by meditating on top of the highest peaks. We know from the battletome that Ymetricans favor triangle patterns and symbols. I tried to incorporate that while trying to come up with a coat of arms/symbol for the nation: The helmet at the top is based on the Stoneguard helmet, but It could also represent the warform of an Alarith Mountain Spirit, or the Ymetrican Longhorn itself. Im currently planning on going all in with Ymetrica and Im thinking about slightly converting most models to incorporate more mountain symbolic.
  7. Good summary! Something interesting, the wind temple is described in detail. One section in the tome describes cloud riding wizards, archers on long-limbed riding-beasts and a bow wielding fox-faced spirit. If we compare that with the Alarith, thats basically the full temple (maybe add a named character or two).
  8. Yes. As far as I understand it, there are multiple moons, waxing and waning. These moons are only partially physical. They periodically materialize and fade into incorporeality. Only Celennar, the true Moon, always orbits above the realm sphere (Its important to remember that the sky above the realmsphere is just as magical as the edges). Other groups are mentioned. The Aelementari of the Zenith temple can turn into beings of pure light, while the warriors of the River temple are described as swift dexterous warriors. There is a short tale that features horse archers and a "fox-faced" bow wielding spirit of the Wind Temple. Oh, there is also a mention of a River Spirits, but they arent described in any detail.
  9. The Soul Wars are mentioned, yes. But more in the form of the aftermath of the Necroquake. Even though the Lumineth erected spires of aetherquarz to stabilize the realms, the wave of necrotic energy still animated hordes of skeletons and set free legions of Nighthaunt. Wild Endless Spells roam the realm now and the edges of the realmsphere are destabilizing at an alarming rate. This event lead to the Lumineth ending their isolation. They realized that events that happen in one realm, can still affect them in Hysh. We dont know Celennars opinion on the Bad Moon. But the Great Nation of Zaitrec worships Celennar, the true Moon, and the other moons of Hysh. But they fear the Bad Moon. Against all their efforts to force him into orderly patterns, it still moves as it pleases, which terrifies the people of Zaitrec.
  10. I glued everything in place before painting. I prefer seeing it all come together while painting
  11. Happy Release Day everyone! I gave the second Ymetrica color scheme a try: Im pretty happy with how it turned out! I think I will paint my whole army in this scheme (but now, im thinking about how im going to paint the Alariths?)
  12. People are slowly getting their boxes. So, what is everyone planning on how to paint their miniatures? Are you going for one of the subfactions? Or a custom color scheme?
  13. Its important to remember that the Twinstones are a predatory Endless Spell! So the enemy can, potentially, move them away.
  14. Hi and welcome to the Mortal Realms! The box gives you a nice 500 points list. A good starting point for a few small games. The Box is also pretty good If you are complety new, as you get the core rules, the battletome, die and markers all in one set. We dont know how long we will have to wait for the rest, but I guess GW will release the other kits after the Launch of the new 40K edition next month.
  15. Glymmsforge is still holding on. The Soulbound book mentions the council of Glymmsforge stemming the tide of the growing Ossiarch Empire.
  16. No. Only LUMINETH REALMLORD units wholly within 18" of the caster.
  17. I finished a solo adventure with one of my players a few weeks ago (he played a Skaven Assassin!) and im currently running the free Crash&Burn adventure with my main group. I think its only one session left until we wrap this up. I changed the adventure a bit, so the group is travelling to Edesa instead of Brightspear. I hope to run a few more adventures once they are there.
  18. I found this color scheme on a french forum (they say its Ymetrica?) And I think it looks really good. Im tempted to go with that for my Lumineth force! Source: https://www.warhammer-forum.com/index.php?/topic/274075-discussion-lumineth-realm-lords/page/70/
  19. This is what im going for! Its not that I dont like Teclis, but I tend to play smaller games, so bringing a 660 point model would be a bit much. I like the lore and design of the Alarith models (especially the mountain spirit with the large hammer). And the great nation of Ymetrica sounds like a perfect fit to me. Im waiting to see how some of the alternative color schemes look in real life, but im also thinking about doing my own color scheme. Similarly to the studio scheme, but I would switch the creme color for some dark greys, dark blues and some white/silver as accent color (grey for the stone of the mountains, white for the snow covered peaks, and blue for the sky). Im also thinking about doing this with my Stoneguard models: Its not that I dislike the stock models, its just that I like THIS look very much!
  20. Maybe this is a useful information for all you Cogfort aficionados, in the new Cities of Flame supplement for Soulbound, produced by Cubicle7, there is an adventure centered around a Cogfort! That specific cogfort "Greenskin's Despair" is described as being a 200 feet tall structure, on six giant mechanical legs. Armed with fifty cannons, two volley cannons, and crewed by 500 Handgunners, 50 crewmen (engineers, drivers, stokers) and also 30 Fyreslayers.
  21. This is also the place for that. Its just that the only thing we have right now is some parts of the rules. Once people get the miniatures and the battletome in their hands the discussion will shift. Im also very excited for the lore and Im currently testing out a few color schemes via photoshop. I hope we get more lore on the great nations (especially Ymetrica) and some not-creme color schemes in the battletome!
  22. The one big strenght they have is that they can move across the board and charge without losing most of their abilities. But I think they need at least one mountain spirit and a stonemage to make use of their full potential. (I also think we are still missing something. Right now, there is no reason why one shouldnt take the mountain stance every turn. Maybe there is one more stance on the same page as the tectonic force ability?)
  23. They probably meant the bad dice podcast: http://baddice.co.uk/lumineth-realm-lords-review-with-the-play-testers/ To summarize their thoughts about Teclis a little: He is strong, and he will most likely be a centerpiece/linchpin for the faction at the start since he is pretty straightforward in what he does compared to the rest of the army, but he has his weaknesses. They think once people get a hang of the army they will slowly pivot away from him and make more use of the other elements of the army. They made a great point. Lumineth are all about balancing your resources. You cant go all out with big toys or you lack the man to hold your objectives and screen, you cant go all out Sentinel spam or you cant threaten the enemies objectives, and so and so on. I recommend listening to that episode.
  24. Yeah, we already know all the battalions. The Lumineth have 4: Alarith Temple (Battle cattle, Stonemage, Stoneguard), Auralan Legion (Cathallar, 2-4 Sentinals and Wardens), Dawnrider Lance (2-3 Dawnriders) and the mega battalion with the other three, Teclis and Eltharion. I dont think the Eel list is legal as it lacks any Battleline units.
  25. Oh sure, MSU may very well work in our favor (to a certain degree, I think there is a drop off, at a certain point because of Spell Lore and Aetherquarz limitations) I was mainly talking about the short comings of 1 or 2 drop lists. In regards to why I think Sentinel Spam will fail is simply the fact that we need something to claim objectives. 5+ save Sentinels will melt and Warden lose all their good stuff if they charge. I think we need Stoneguard/Aralith units and Dawnriders to have a chance at winning the objective game. Just sitting in our deployment zone wont work.
