  1. They said it in the short announcment video on the Warhammer-Community website.
  2. Looks like the new magic stuff will be optional.
  3. They said in the FAQ there will be new models for every GA. So It looks like Destruction Players can start taking out their wallets
  4. Praise the gods. Morathi has become even more useful now!
  5. Id argue the magic system will be the biggest change. The rest of the rules will stay more or less the same. GW can't start invalidating Battletomes just yet.
  6. Hey, I want to be positiv and all but the more I read the more angry I get. What you are saying is simply not true. There is no Battletome faction in AoS thats unplayable. Beastclaw Raiders are still good (they are just not broken anymore). You can play all of them and have fun. Or dont. Some people just collect and for them SC! Sets are great. You save up to 50% on some. Saying they are traps is just wrong, both in AoS and 40K. Edit: okay, I need to calm down. Different cultures and all. I just think this hyper competitiv outlook doesnt really fit Games Workshop games as they tend to be more beer-and-pretzel style games
  7. I looked through all the Star Collecting sets avaible for Age of Sigmar and all of them besides the first Stormcasts one (3 snapfit paladins doesnt work without the big Starter Set) and the Kharadron one kinda (Gunhaulers are bad now but will most likely be fixed in the next Handbook) are really good and useful.
  8. The last time we got a teaser video before an event was back when the entire Adeptus Custodes army was shown. So everything is possible.
  9. They said "the future of Age of Sigmar", my guess is the rumored new starter box with Nighthaunt and the new Stormcast Chamber.
  10. I have never been so angry at video. I want to know now!
  11. You are right. This wasn't the first time. They were first mentioned (but not called Cog-forts) in the Shadow over Hammerhal material where they protect Hammerhal Aqsha and then again in this function in one of the earlier Malign Portents stories where they got their name.
  12. The new release seminar starts at 11 british time. I think thats where most of the new stuff will be shown:
  13. I liked this story. A city from the first season of war campaign, alarielle and the Ironweld Arsenal, whats not to like? Also some of these descriptions made me thing we will see them as units sooner or later. For example: "surveyors in hook-nosed masks strode through the murk upon mechanical striders" "Like the others, she wore a panelled overcoat of mustard-yellow and crimson, over thick breeches and leather gloves. " Plus the mention of a Cog-hauler and the fact that this is the second story that has a Cog-fort as its center.
  14. You are taking this too literal. These are just examples of balancing. 3 heroes, 2 Monsters doesnt mean exactly 2 monsters but 0-2. Also in regards to getting new players into the game, I'd argue talking with them how you want to play is the best way to ease them in. "Oh, you only have 5 Chaos Warriors, a few Knights and a mage? Sure, I bring a few liberators and a hero and we just have a game without allegiance abilities, relics or special spells." Or If they are a little more advanced smaller games like 500-1000 points (or 30-40 wounds) works as well. My gaming group is nearly 1000 point games only. Besides our Path-to-glory campaing were we just roll a few die to determin our army.
  15. Using other methodes of balancing like wounds, number of warscrolls or even just talking about what both players field. You can also always use the sudden death rules, which can work surprisingly well.
  16. We finally know what that old rumor engine picture from february last year is from. Its that guys backpack:
  17. I had thought about this before when I tried to think about how the Phoenix Temple could fit into the mortal realms. I came up with the "Reforged" (or something similar). A Reforged is made when a Phoenix is mortally wounded in battle and is too weak to be reborn normally. A high ranking phoenix temple aelf (most of the time someone close to said phoenix) then takes in the essence of the phoenix and both become something new. The might of a phoenix in the form of an aelf. And since these two beings form something completely new they are no longer bound by the vow of silence. (My thought behind this were to incorporate the rebirth motif and the religious aspect of their phoenix worship as the aelf sacrifice himself for the phoenix)
  18. But they could have dropped these armies back when they released the Grand Alliance books and dropped TK and Bretonia. Everything that survived this is here to stay for the near-to-mid future. Not necessarily each faction but the models making up said faction. (So Shadowblades become a part of Malerions new Shadowkin faction but they dont drop the Assassin model)
  19. They said: "Much as we’d love to, we can’t continue to stock and sell every model we make forever – that’s where Warhammer Legends comes in. Warhammer Legends is a great home for these heroes of bygone ages, giving us somewhere to publish rules to allow you to keep playing with your older miniatures." This doesnt mean they will off entire armies that survived the great purge. Old minis will get phased out, thats nothing new. But they had cleared the house three years ago. There is no reason to believe they will do that so soon again. Also in regards to the wolf shaman: Its one warscroll. GW doesnt need to move them to legends as both options are balanced together. Its easier for them to keep it as it is than to seperate these two.
  20. The wolf is still a option in the normal Grot Shaman warscroll. I dont see why they should make them narrativ-play only when this option is linked to a relativly reccent plastic set. Also, not a single faction that was part of the Grand Alliance books lost a unit with this Warhammer Legends release. This is just something GW added for the players that want to field their armies like they were in the world-that-was. This has nothing to do with the main AoS line. I dont see why you think entire armies will be moved into legends?
  21. How can this lead to GW "getting smashed in the face"? Legends ist about the out of production armies. They cant make any money out of this, which also means they cant lose any. This is to build good faith. Not giving points to these armies is only to limit their use in organized tournaments. You can always assinge them points yourself to use them in matched play against your friends. TK got nerfed because they were too good and people felt the need to pay a lot of money for some second hand stuff. To limit that, GW removed synergies, made them more expansive points wise, etc. Which made them boring. The compromise now is to give old armies the fun stuff but limit them to friendly games.
  22. I really like this. Turning the normal hierarchy of armies on its head with putting the heavily armored units at the bottom (or at least as low as an Ogor can get). Great idea and the paint job is top notch, as usual.
  23. Great Project! Your descriptions really invokes a picture of this faction in my head. Keep it up! Short question: Are you planning on putting something on the "Not-Squiggoth"? Looks kinda blank right now.
  24. There will be a new Death Faction this summer, we know that much from the Shadespire Teaser and the Soulwars Cover. Plus there where also rumors of new destruction stuff later this year.
