  1. It could easily be anything actually. I mean it looks like SCE but they don't have a monopoly on spikes (even if it does feel that way sometimes when transporting them).
  2. 99% sure this is a stormcast collar it is nearly identical to a few I have already. My bet might be on a new relictor clampack. Another larger sCE release wouldn't make much sense. Edit - Just looking at my shelves and the original relictor, the lord celestant on stardrake (and templar variant) all have more fabulous collars. LC on foot has a similar size but different structure. OH it could be another of those chambers - sacrosanct. Which would also maybe match a new relictor release.
  3. I mean I am no expert at all in the process used but there are a few things to calculate. Is it plastic? GW does only plastic nowadays so yes. I guess it is then injection moulding so you'd need that machine (you can borrow theirs but there are costs in running it, let alone buying it). You'd need the master, the mould itself. I hear GW use metal (I think you have to for injection plastics?) - stainless steel. Milling that requires a machine. An expensive one. Just operation cost, not purchase cost (again you just want the mould). Sculpting the master is probably a pretty expensive endeavour too. Materials - I'd say you could disregard the steel and plastic involved. I would not be surprised if it is over $30,000 (and that's borrowing the two expensive machines needed) just for one run. Total guesswork ofc!
  4. Even when there are no concrete plans for those models in future, if those models are easily reproduced (plastics) and selling GW may as well just repackage them when needed. I mean they can't just reproduce the product as it was - in Warhammer Fantasy Battle clothing. It needs a new box. Makes more sense than not producing new stock for a product that's actually being depleted.
  5. I completed my Eclipse Entry. After some pondering about doing him really "dark" I felt it better to hold closer to my own style and painted him in honour of the rest of the stormcast I've painted so far so he can lead and/or join them. Meet Motif a Lord Relictor so taciturn it'd make stones look loquacious. He has a special gift that helps him find the damned. A great pale bird that speaks for him and flits in and out of being without respect for the natural laws that apply in the mortal realms - whatever those laws may be. Motif scrawls notes on the parchments he fastens to himself, a history or diary of his actions. Motif has died many, many times and most attribute his odd way to his lonely work and the number of his reforgings. In truth Motif (as a Stormcast) has always been this way, though none among the Stormcast can remember a time when there has not been at least a rumour of Motif. I'll save further fleshing out for when I do Motif mark 2 (with even more parchment!)
  6. Outrage is such a hot commodity these days I wager a good chunk are going to go out and buy books AFTER this news just to be outraged.
  7. What would they do if they ran out of Warhammer Fantasy Battle branded stock?
  8. I wouldn't get so hopeful but maybe. Also, I think all this above is what everyone was complaining about with previous releases (not me I'll note, I don't mind) - "don't discuss the release in the rumour thread".
  9. Maybe the secret lies in the capital letters. Nouns Of Foretelling.
  10. Every noun in every bit of earlier lore is being released as a plastic kit in the future! (I know grot pirates have made more appearances than 'winged beastmen' or 'sky roads' but it's still important to balance these types of things with the logic that GW need some lore-only stuff to make interesting little stories)
  11. Sea Crustacean Cavalry! Lobster guard! Crab warriors! The new Dark Aelfs? A whole new race?
  12. I think this is just another 'I don't like shooting' thread now?
  13. Personally I would only count the mini's base, head, arms, legs and body but I am 100% fine if others say 'no I can see his spear held aloft'. Just my opinion but: I dont think hiding via line of sight should play that big a part in the game at all. The models are static but are supposed to be full of movement so I dislike the idea that 'oh his pose now puts him behind that boulder so he can't be shot at all'. What if someone models their judicators flat on the ground as if they're crawling along? They maintain their speed though. You've seen the players who get the most from zombie units by having an arm coming out of the ground to represent a model? That's cool, thematic but being fussy with true line of sight means that zombie can hide behind a mini replica of a large carrot. I am more a fan of the cover save bonus. This is where the statement "terrain has no effect" becomes nonsense. That also incentivises clubs to build terrain that looks cool that models can move through instead of massive lumps of polystyrene to secure line of sight blocking for your dragon models.
  14. I think GW may be playing with homonyms! To scuttle is to shuffle or walk furtively (matches scuttling models) To scuttle is to deliberately sink a ship (matching a potential piratey grot faction) The more you know!
  15. I think it is intended you only attack enemy units. That said, in the example given (and for other evil armies) it's quite thematic. Interesting!
  16. The Prime is like the bass. Holding off to drop it makes it better. D-d-d-drop the prime Beat kicks in Edit : who's gonna do a crazy dubstep mix of celestant primes dropping bombs on the boards?
  17. He's already primed without off the board wait time. Really though those two are hard to compare. The Prime is a weird one with the tricks up his sleeve.
  18. Probably got to wait to see the battletome.
  19. I am trying to think of a character that can do so!
  20. Ha! Sometimes I wonder what people classify as 'good'. 8 wounds, 3+ save, 12" move, fly, 7 missile attacks (2 lines with -1 rend, 1 with d3 damage and 2+ to wound), 3+ to hit everywhere, 4 melee attacks, 2+ to wound, -2 rend, d3 damage (3 guaranteed if supercharged), reroll hits and wounds of 1 against heroes or monsters. D3 mortal wounds on the charge. Command ability gives himself and other units run and charge. Pretty great imo. Better than any SCE hero bar LCoD and Stardrakes. I assume this is their main hero. That is ofc important. If he is 240 points he is prob auto include, if he is more he might come down to optional. If he's over 300 he's 'alright'. NB/ just my opinion!
  21. I am in for dainty effete undead. Coiffed and manicured like dead birds of paradise
  22. Also: Aren't they saying there will be new models for any faction they add and that those factions will include some that have had no new models yet (quite a lot of potential candidates)?
  23. Isn't the scythe at the end surely from the next primarch? Mortarion or whatevs.
  24. Love this idea. They could even give a little nod to the eastern source of that idea. Age of Sigmar's sea ninjas and star samurais.
