  3. Hi guys,

If you're interested in checking out the spicy lists that are being bought to my huge 6 man team event in a couple of weeks, you can check them out here!

    http://traffic.libsyn.com/theblacksun/Brotherhood_Lists.pdf

Really interesting to see so many lists that wouldn't be in consideration for a singles event, getting a look in due to the ETC pairings system.

This is gonna be a crazy event, probably the toughest field I've ever seen. I daresay this could be more competitive than the actual ETC! :P

    Enjoy,

    Chris

  4. Evening all,

In lieu of an Official GW FAQ, here are the House Rules that will be used at Brotherhood for Slaves to Darkness. Any team that has already submitted lists can freely resubmit if these changes impact your selections.

Q - Can the Dark Prophecy command ability be used multiple times?

A - No. Once per turn.

Q - Can a unit benefit from the Nurgle Daemon Prince’s Bloated Blessings command ability more than once per phase?

A - No. Also it only applies to attacks made with melee weapons.

  5. Hi guys,

    Hope you had a good Christmas and are getting ready for Brotherhood! Couple of things;

Just to confirm, as a few people have asked the question, Brotherhood will be played using the existing Kharadron Overlords and Disciples of Tzeentch books. Whilst I know people will (rightly) want to use the exciting new books, I maintain this is for the betterment of the event.

I’d suggest that any team using those factions need to print the faq and old scrolls/have the book.  Most people will have updated the app so won’t have the old warscroll to hand.

I will also be making an announcement regarding Slaves to Darkness at Brotherhood. Details to follow, should be later on today. Will likely just be houserules on Nurgle DP & Everchosen Command Ability (sensible stuff we might hope to later see in a FAQ - trust my judgment!).

    Cheers, Chris

All this wording does is ensure that the battalion is played the way it was intended.
    Yes. It’s on a 4+
    Yes. It’s once per phase.
Just means it was intended for units of 10-15 and potentially getting them back on any board edge mid game

It’s worse than the previous interpretation but the previous interpretation was left open for abuse and not the intention of the rule writers imo

Entirely correct. I have zero sympathy for anyone who was abusing the loophole beforehand.

Anyway, I had a good result at a two day five game event recently (2nd place, 4 major wins, 1 minor loss), using 25 Brutes and 0 Ardboys. If people are interested in a bit of a report (originally suggested by @Malakree) then I can type something up. Whilst I had some luck, I was pleased with my strats and overall play.

    Cheers, Chris

    Hey,

Yeh typically for Mercs you would just send over the individual payment (£47.50) and I’d group you together. I can tell you the 4 guys in that second team are all really nice. What I’ve done with the first team is stick them all in a WhatsApp chat.

If you want to chat to them beforehand though, James is @Caffran101, Dave is @Thenecbromancer, Carl is @Cas797 and Heath is @Heath Barnes. Feel free to get a group DM going or something.

    Cheers,

    Chris

Hey Chris if I wanted to take a merc slot, do I just send you the payment? Is there some way to reach out to the people already in that team first and check we're on the same wavelength?

  10. Hey guys,

I figured that it's better to put this here rather than clog the AoS events calendar.

Just wanted to shout out my next Warcry event. It's taking place on Sunday 24th November in Weymouth, UK.

The full pack and ticket info can be found here - http://traffic.libsyn.com/theblacksun/The_Fall_of_Carngrad.pdf

Currently on 16/30 players signed up. We had 20 for the last one so looking to improve on that.

There's fish & chips provided for lunch from an award winning local shop, with prizes from GW OP and Pro Painted Studios.
You don't need to bring any terrain along I am building and painting all the tables for it. So as long as you have a warband, which doesn't even need to be painted, you can take part!

Gimme a shout if you have any questions.

    Chris

  11. Hey guys,

Tickets for this event go on sale tonight at 7pm tonight.

Please have one person send a single payment of £285 as friends and family. Include the team name, the 6 players and the captain in the notes.

    Payment address is lunatic_pandora@btinternet.com

The full pack will follow in a couple of weeks, however you should expect something very similar to the ETC.

If you are a player (or smaller group of players) without a full 6 man team, you can still get involved. You can send individual payments of £47.50 to me and I will group people together in teams of 6. This has traditionally been a nice way for newer players to get involved and enjoy team events (which anyone will tell you are the most fun!)

I’ll post up a list of entrants tomorrow. There has been a big buzz for this on Twitter so make sure you get your team payment in tonight!
