  1. I gotta say, the sinister implications of a structure called the 'Blood Shed' is at odds to the idyllic English countryside it resides in. Looking forward to seeing the final result!
  2. I've been gathering my army of Death since before the End Times. Out of context, reading that sentence back makes me sound quite epic. But within the hobby, I am sure I'm not the only one. For me it started with Nagash, my all time favourite special character, and has now grown to encompass the Dark Lord of Despair and his Deathrattle Horde - the Doomed Legion. It has been an absolute pleasure getting back to the nitty-gritty (mostly gritty) of an Undead army. I enjoyed my army from 4th edition, but the new models are just spectacular. My hope is to get 110 SCGT points done in time for NICON in June, and I am well on track. Even more exciting is this weekend, where my old-school Warhammer buddies and I are getting back to what we did best in the old days - MULTIPLAYER BATTLES. We are going to try out the Convergence of Fate Battlescroll, no holds barred. And it will be the first time I will field the Supreme Lord of the Undead, and his top Lieutenant. There will be an entire contingent of scribes present for the battle, so there should be plenty to report, once the Deathlords have had the chance to survey their work. My opponents include the hated Settra and his legion of statue-fetishists from the Endless Desert, and Tyrion, Lord of Light, along with his brother and an army of foppish sycophants. I anticipate being on the receiving end of their alliance, at least to start with. Even now my spies are at work, spreading lies, and creating division. In future posts I will regale you with tales from the battlefield, progress of The Great Summoning, and propaganda true histories of the background of the mighty villains heroes of my corner of the Realm of Shyish. Until next time, mortal servants.
  3. Had a go at Death. Assumed entries in red, if anyone has access to the newly packaged boxes. I've also listed Hero models on 32 mm bases, as to me it reflects 'best fit' for those more imposing models. But unsure what they are actually packing them in these days.

Folks we are excited to announce the 2016 Bugeater GT! The sixth annual Bugeater will take place June 10th-12th at Millard West High School in Omaha, Nebraska. We are excited to offer the same quality that you have come to expect from the Bugeater, but there will certainly be changes taking place this year. Although we have both of the gyms to use for the tournament, as veterans know we have only actually utilized the space in one gym up until this point. We want to take advantage of that space, and some change in the wargaming community this past year, to grow and expand the number of game systems we’re offering to provide you with plenty of opportunities to come to the Bugeater and play the game you want to play. So far, we are offering the following events: 1. Warhammer 40k 2. Kings of War 3. Warmachine/Hordes 4. Age of Sigmar Age of Sigmar: Two day, 6 round tournament SDK List Construction system; details to be released soon Event Homepage: http://gt.bugeatergames.com/

  21. The first North Leeds Last Stand went really well, so I thought we'd do another. This time I've tried to take on board the lessons from recent tournaments and try out my own comp pack combining what I feel are the best bits of SCGT comp and Clash comp. Game System: Age of Sigmar Date: Sunday 26th June 2016 Location: Shadwell Scout Hut Main Street Shadwell LEEDS LS17 8HH No. of Games: 3 Comp System: North Leeds Last Stand's own comp (SCGT/Clash) Cost: £15 This is a relaxed tournament designed for players wanting a fun day of AoS AND for those tournament regulars who like a competitive game. At the first NLLS we had several players who ended in the top 20 at SCGT including the winner - Rob Symes so a high standard of play, but equally we had the winner of 'best sports' at SCGT Joe Purcell so we are a VERY friendly, accommodating supportive bunch too. Even if you've never played in a tournament before you will find it a very welcoming atmosphere. We will use our own comp pack which combines elements of SCGT with Clash Comp with a little bit of our own flavour to produce 3 interesting and challenging games in a day. I was not going to re-invent the wheel and do a ground-up total new Comp. So basically I have taken the SCGT pool system, and simplified some of the SCGT scenarios. Then scrapped the win/loss/draw scoring and hidden agendas and replaced it with the Clash Comp scoring system. I feel this has a good chance of addressing some of the problems I have with both of those systems, namely: 1. I found that as I am a bear of little brain I kept forgetting the extra twiddly bits in the scenarios at SCGT (doing D3 mortal wounds on a 4+ if your near a ........). So KISS 2. The same applied for Hidden Agendas/At all costs cards 3. Many games at SCGT were over by turn 2 or 3 as there was nothing to be gained by competing to the bitter end. 4. I hardly touched my sideboard at SCGT and I know many other players stuck to pretty much the same army all tournament. So I wanted to try to make it necessary for people to bring and have to use a varied army. The complete 8 page comp pack with full details and scenarios is at https://www.dropbox.com/s/0gtbylop3qdu8br/North%20Leeds%202nd%20Last%20Stand%20v1.0.doc?dl=0 Please have a thorough read through it. It is currently v1.0 and is likely to have some changes as explained within it as Russ Veal and co start adjusting SCGT pool values, and new books come out from Games Workshop. Do let me know if you spot errors or have queries. Lunch and refreshments are provided all day in the price. We have an agreement with the pub next door so you can buy beer etc. there and drink it at the venue. This time you WILL need a painted army, and there will be a best painted trophy You will also need to submit your list beforehand - deadline is June 19th. There will be trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, Best in each faction, Wooden Spoon, Best painted, Best Sports and spot prizes each round. There is plenty of parking at the venue. The 7S bus from Leeds City Centre stops right outside the venue if you are using public transport. Timetable: 9.00am Registration 9.30am - 11.50am Game 1 11.50am - 12.35pm Lunch 12.35pm - 2.55pm Game 2 2.55pm - 3.15pm Tea break and Best painted competition 3.15pm - 5.35pm Game 3 5.50pm Awards I have shortened the games by 10 mins, so each is 2hrs 20mins. The vast majority of players had finished well inside the time and with the simplified scenarios it should allow everyone to head ****** at a sensible time on a Sunday evening. Entry is by payment of £15 to my Paypal account - paulrosann@aol.com Please pay using 'gift or friends and family' to keep costs down. And remember to include who you are paying for. There are 24 places available. Feel free to let me know if I have missed any information off, or you need any clarification. Event Homepage: http://warhammer.org.uk/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=133473

  25. If you won't come to the North Isles, we will bring the North Isles to you. Northern Invasion 2016 is brought to you by Age of Sigmar Battle Reports (http://www.facebook.com/batrep) and Common Ground Games. The event will be a 1 day open tournament with 3 games of AoS at the fantastic Common Ground Games in sunny Stirling. There is sponsorship confirmed by our friends and allies at The Army Painter, Kromlech , Afro Zombie and some Orkney Fayre has been provided by a number of North Isles companies. Places are limited to 32, so get your names in to secure a spot! What's it all about? Glad you asked. The event will be themed on the North Isles with some small characterful rules customising play just enough to make things different, with the addition of weather conditions and a free North-Isles terrain piece adding a twist that will make people think before selecting their usual list. The following prizes are confirmed: Overall winner will be named Great Thane of the North Isles and will take ****** the fabled warpstone axe of Torin skullsplitter. There will be a trophy for the best warlord in each of the Grand Alliances. The best newcomer to AoS tournament play will win an award. The most notable deed in game will be 'immortalised by the Bards' when our guest judge Guy Haley chooses his favourite. The owner of the filthiest list will be required to wear the badge of shame throughout the event. There will be 1st and 2nd placed awards for best painted armies and generals. As if that weren't enough, there will be some local orkney fayre on offer too, an exclusive NI16 branded weather calculator/turn counter/objective marker (yes, a dice) and something for the spoonbearer to take ******. Cost: afraid it isn't free folks owing to to volume of prizes, the event will cost £20. I know this is slightly more than the going rate but it all goes to prizes, venue and food. Keen people can secure their places by gifting £20 at http://www.paypal.me/stuwest final payment date 2nd July 2016 but it would be appreciated sooner :). Please include a message with full name, which event you are paying for and whether you have played in an AoS tournament before. All paid entrants will be entered into a raffle an one lucky soul will get their mitts on a gamers set from the Army Painter and there will be some goodies for other lucky folk from Afro Zombie just for turning up! More info and pack to follow but at this stage I can confirm there will be some form of Clash/scgt comp with some additional rules as mentioned above , we'll see how other events go in the meantime. It is likely that summoning will be looked at and army selections will be taken from anything live on the app or in a battletome/grand alliance book. I would like to encourage fluff and would appreciate feedback on ideas such as formations being free if only one faction is chosen (just an idea) or at least that formations could only be taken if only one faction is taken. The main thing will be to make sure everyone enjoys themselves and we have some epic games! Throw us your questions and look at the additional info on the facebook page events section.
