  1. Does anybody have a suggestion on good "similar to Gnarlwood" build with the new battletome leaks? I mean magic heavy build? I doubt that some tables refer to "treelords" as they don't share same keywords. But maybe it states "table X is for TLA and SOD".
  2. Actually I also run Khorne Bloodbound army only and I am really satisfied with latest battletome. πŸ˜‹
  3. I've just quickly ran through all the changes. For a person who played Gnarlwood Wargrove it's hard to comment without swearing. I'm not sure how to name what Gnarlwood was changed into now? From my perspective most of the things I cared about was changed for worse. As if this army needed any nerfs. Biggest disappointment in AoS so far I guess. I see how people running dreadwood are happy with the changes but my playstyle seems no longer supported. It will take some work to adapt to new battletome. Don't like it at first glance. πŸ˜”
  4. I hold to my opinion that ID and DoK will be the last to receive Endless Spells because it will be a release as always combined with a battletome. They can't do that now or they will ****** people off since the last battletomes are only 1 year old.
  5. Me and my friend I play most of the games are both at the pretty same level regarding AoS. Nevertheless no matter how hard he tries to beat me with his Ironjawz he loses games against my Sylvaneth, Nighthaunt and Khorne armies. It's not his fault, it's Ironjawz to be worse due to older battletome. Also I don't take pleasure from beating him. We have 50:50 winning ratio when he brings his Chaos mix army. It can't be a coincidence. What I'm trying to say is that current "army power" is of high importance. I'm sure that if he played DoK or FEC I'd be on the losing side. That's why I would distinguish firendly play from tournament play. I understand that the point of participating at a tournament is winning, thus you bring the best you can with you. However, when playing firends "just for fun" (do not confuse with narrative games) i think we should look for the most balanced play so that all sides are satisfied. In our games with Ironjawz in play we started testing some points adjustments so that we both feel equal.
  6. We've had this kind of conversation several times and a few people misunderstand the problem. Especially dividing people into to groups - tournament players vs total noobs. There are all kinds of shades between these two. I guess most of the people are somewhere in the middle. They don't want to run lists consisting of 120 same models and two heroes that at the moment are perceived as the perfect builds for a given army, nor they want to play with made up rules/handicaps/... To be honest for me a person who plays currently the strongest army (DoK,FEC...) with the most powerful list observed from the internet is playing with an aid. It's like admitting you need help to take an advantage. I have no experience in AoS tournaments but I've been to quite a few card games tournaments. At my local shop half the people were playing the same, most powerful deck. Playing against them was comparable to cleaning floor with a toothbrush - that kind of fun. Yeah, those decks won most of the time. Was it thanks to the players using them? Only partially. That was the reason I stopped coming there. Don't be a handicaped guy who needs a bigger gun than his mates to play at the same level. Especially if it's not a tournament.
  7. @XReN Thx. Seems solid. It will be safe to wait for new GHB'19 but then I'm open for some expansion.
  8. Guys, one more question. If you were to play 2k army with Paladins (prefered Retributors as I already have few), Liberators and Prosecutors what list would you bring? Thx.
  9. It's not as good as that teleport was. It was like? 6" from enemy models? Seems like the perfect famous GW balance all the way sadly. I was wondering whether to expand my SC forces to a full playable 2k army but I always prefered the original Stormcast models from 1st wave.
  10. Do I see correctly that teleport ability from Hammerstrike Force and Vanguard Wing was removed? Or is now in another batallion or somewhere else? If it was removed how do you play you Paladins now?
  11. I think two Sea-Elf factions is a bit too much. I doubt we will se any other sea themed army, at least so soon after Idoneth.
  12. This is one way to fix things. The better one however would be to simply add 2-3 units to both Ironjawz and Bonesplitterz. That would help with army building options and remaining unique themes for those armies. Simple as that. Don't tell me I'm expecting too much. If GW can release Stormcasts every year or a dozen of Warcry warbands then it can easily create just a few more models for existing factions.
  13. Did somebody succesfully interrogate any GW employee about future releases? What battletomes are next or something?
  14. No new faction is a disappointment at Warhammer Fest. Wonder if there's any planned for the rest of the year.
  15. I don't believe I'm writing this but I might be actually more excited than as if they showed a new army. Under one condition - the effects will be as good as shown in the video. Will defenitely test them myself. If what they show is true, then I will paint Gloomspite army in no time.
  16. The only drawback is... I have like...I don't know... 50 Citadel paints? Most of them in good shape. Do I really want to buy another 20 or so just for speed? I'm afraid I do. Another expense.
  17. Oh you would have known me even better if some of my latter posts weren't deleted by moderation. I don't want to be rude but to put it simple: I don't want to spend an hour or so writing essays. It's not a pissing contest, nor do you need my curriculum vitae to talk about a certain units' flaws. Nor I want to put you in position to judge me. That's not the point of this chat. I will reverse the quetion: If this is such a minor, meaningless improvement why not implement it? Everyone will be satisfied. You must be aware there are some issues with shooting now the other way. At first it was too strong, now it's too weak and armies like Kharadrons suffer much. In my opinion the other KH are better enough not to even bother with KHwB. Not really. Yoo suggest what I wrote before - taking a good unit to buff a weak unit in order to make an average unit. It's smarter to take a good unit (KHw Swords/Scythes), buff it with AR and receive a great unit. I don't want that either. That's why I'm not going to force my opinion over yours and will actually agree to some of your points. You talked about "chaff" which was troublesome. Seriously, what trick is this? Making fun of me? It's your obssesion with food and cooking? You want to see Tree-Revenants with pitchfork or what? What good comes from this? Jokes aside I googled the right thing. Read the examples of chaff tactics. Answearing your question directly: no, I didn't use Tree-Revenants in that way. Just for VP capturing unit or harassing support units on the back. For "chaff" I used Wyldwoods, like placing them on potential charging routes of opponents units or units that wouldn't be obliterated on first contact. So in the end thank you as I've learned new way to use TR. However, I wish they were something more. A unit that could succesfuly harass weaker battleline and force opponent to guard his VP more, giving me space to control the board. Their potential dmg output is low enough to ignore them in most cases. I'm not a mathhammer kind of guy. I will trust you on this one. All I wanted is a unit that has other abilities than blocking strong opponent's unit by getting itself killed. Like recapturing VP. If it meant point's increase - that's fine for me. After all GW does it all the time (well, once a year) in GHB. Since you look like a skilled player I would like to know your opinion on this: what would you change in TR so that they can play the role I suggest (not only me according to forums).
  18. If those contrast paints work as in the video - they are AMAZING. Although I consider myself a good painter I would certainly want them for battleline and horde units.
  19. Foreground: Chaos Warrior from Warcry Background: Stormcasts Chariot
  20. In the latest Sylvaneth video the bold guy says 'let's have a peak at SOME OF the new models'. I'm not English native but I understand it as there are more models to come? Everything is shown in that video apart from Arch-Revenant.
  21. You might want to order your copies from other countries. I have never encountered any problems with ordering preorder boxes from GW (I'm Polish). Even now most polish shops sell Looncurse. Postage shouldn't be THAT expensive (like €10).
  22. Are you having fun with your May & Might Friend? Cause I don't want to disturb you. By guessing and making assumptions you have no ground to make, you suggest I'm a bad tactician and create an image of a person that doesn't exist. Just because I didn't write 10 paragrafs about cooking and my tactics in detail doesn't mean I don't understand the basics. No. I did not say that. Nor I gave reasons to draw such a conclusion. Don't picture me as a brute beefcake guy. I chose Sylvaneth for a reason.I understand what playstyle is expected from that army by design. My points were clearly referring just to usefulness of certain units. I'm sure you have played more games than I did in AoS and that you have more experience. Your tournament history is sufficient proof. Although I still believe that both, KHwBows and Tree-Revenants can have better rules and/or stats. Simply better rules for what they are designed. Thay are not balanced well enough to perform the roles they are designed to. That was my whole point from the beginning. Not that Sylvaneth don't need ranged units or teleporting units for objective capturing. I will say it one more time: they are not good enough to perform that. In my opinion. What would I change? For both KHwB and TR change the To Hit to 3+. Or give KHwB 3 attacks instead of 2 as people guessed when GW published the warscroll picture of them on w-c.com Or maybe give TR 2dmg for normal troops and 3dmg for Scion so that they could stand a chance to actually kill something tougher than skinny wizard. Make it a commando unit. Not a "run & die" unit they are. You can think otherwise, that's completely fine. I believe those two units need a boost. Someday we even might see one officially.
  23. You are wrong. It's not about malice or grumbling. I've played tons of games that require strategy and tactic. Whenever you have to decide between units that work most of the time (Scythes/Swords, dryads) vs units that need special conditions, opportunities, supports, additional steps, in most cases it tuns out that if you don't want to gumble, you should take the first solution. Now count how much damage will you provide with Kurnoth Hunters with Swords for the same points as Bows. Go ahead. Show your math. And yes, make a second equation for fighting versus heroes. πŸ˜€ With Tree-Revenants the thing is, that if you do not face totally careless player that leaves VP unguarded or with 1 skinny wizard they are close to useless. Whenever I face my AoS sparring partner, my Tree-Revenants are being obliterated. I win most of games, it's not my lack of skill. It's their survivability on one end and their poor dmg outcome on the other. First to die, last to kill sth. It could've been easily fixed. Instead we have a unit that is usefull, unless your opponent will attack it. Which he will. There is no need for holding hands and comforting each other. Sometimes GW does a good job with rules, sometimes it doesn't If it did always we wouldn't need general's handbooks and erratas, would we? I'd rather tell what is on my mind so maybe, just maybe, my voice is heard, and next time they will make things right. I'm not oracle or all-knowing but if you keep hearing the same thing over and over again that TR suck, maybe consider that something must be going on.
  24. A bad unit that starts to work with other unit's buff is still a bad unit. Instead of hoping that KHwBows will work with AR I'd rather take KHwScythes, boost them with AR and have a guaranteed killing machines. I don't think 'other' battletome's features will make bows any better (same with Tree-Revenants). If it's artifact or a batallion then it takes a slot you would use for boosting already better units like dryads and KHwSandS. I might sound bitter but I'm really disappointed they don't fix the very obvious things people keep complaining about. Instead they had probably focused on Wyldwoods and Allegiance which was ALREADY great (hope at least they don't break them).
  25. Bow Hunters and Tree-Revenants almost officially useless. ☺️ Why would I bother when I can use much better Swords and Scythes or Dryads? I start to wonder shouldn't I regret ordering Looncurse. I did it mostly for Gloomspite side but still...
