  1. Thanks for the input! Man thats a real bummer about your opinion on the Skullcrushers, they were the unit I wasnt willing to change since theyre my favourate unit and the unit of 9 has done so well in my practice games! Ill try dropping them to 6 to practice for competitive games which I rarely play (I prefer semi-competitive where I use sub optimal stuff sometimes) and probably replace them with the 10 Warriors for a Bloodletter or Thirster screen/objective camping, or 10 more Hounds to fit in the Murderhost and some more speed in the list. Gotta thank you again though, your input has been invaluable!
  2. So lads and laddies, I feel I might be on the way to coming up with my finalised list! Here goes: Allegiance: Khorne- Slaughterhost: Reapers of VengeanceMortal Realm: GhurLeadersSkulltaker Bloodthirster of Insensate Rage - General- Trait: Mage Eater - Artefact: Amberglaive Slaughterpriest - Artefact: Skullshard Mantle - Blood Blessing: Bronzed FleshSlaughterpriest - Blood Blessing: Killing FrenzyBloodstoker Battleline9 x Mighty Skullcrushers - Bloodglaives30 x Bloodletters 5 x Flesh Hounds 5 x Flesh Hounds BattalionsMurderhost Endless SpellsWrath-Axe Hexgorger Skulls Total: 1980 / 2000Extra Command Points: 1Allies: 0 / 400Wounds: 131 The idea is to have a set deployment plan. Ive split it into 3 "lanes" if you would like to call it that (getting a dota feel for some reason). Lane 1 is for killing monsters and/or medium sized blobs, consisting of the Thirster and depending on if I need it a unit of Hounds. Lane 2 is for killing elite blobs or general large tough units. Thats going to be the Skulltaker, Bloodletters, and both Hounds to clear away screening. Lane 3 is for killing something that really needs a fist shaped mortal wound slap to the face, with it being the Skullcrushers and Bloodstoker. Priests will be set up always in the centre lane for the Altar to keep those Judgements ongoing. Idea is that if one lane manages to delete everything in its path, it can then redirect into another lane creating a pincer movement. General thinking is to try and go 2nd most of the time. If im forced to go first, ill take a slow turn and try to goad my opponent in moving a bit closer to me so that I have the perfect distance to get some charges off. Wrath Axe goes for mainly characters while Skulls try and do the dirty on enemy casting. With how big the imprint of the Judgements are, those are gonna be my main screening for turn 1 in the middle lane. Things im still unsure on: -Where the Skullshard Mantle should go? -Should I replace the Hounds with 2x10 Bloodletters, despite the Hounds being great giving me chances to dispel and being good, fast chaff clearance? -Dealing with en masse missile attacks. Im getting a feeling that its the main weakness of the list and I cant quite seem to find a way to reduce it other than what ive done already with focusing on making the list as fast as possible. What do you guys think? I personally feel quite happy with this list and dont feel there is a need for massive changes. Either way, let me know!
  3. Thats a great summary! Ive been about 75% daemon in my list so I will do a write up later for my findings. I have actually used Skullcrushers in both 3man and 9man. I have to say at 3 man they arent very good as theyre expensive anvils. However when you take them to 9man they become an INSANE deathstar averaging 10 mortal wounds if you space them well! Deploy them next to a bloodstoker and thats +4" to charge, giving them a really easy charge if you go 2nd. Im feeling having 2 priests nearby, one with Bronze Flesh, the other Killing Frenzy, so that you can decide if you want the unit to be an anvil or a hammer. Will be taking the 9man every single game I play as its so much fun and immensely powerful.
  4. Exactly my sentiment. I just wanna talk about how great khorne is now and all I get are tears of self loathing. Its really not that hard to make a list that works really well with the new book, it just takes a lot of reading and working out what pairs well with what. Ill be willing to buy models off the people quitting cheaply any day though! Give them a proper home and all!
  5. Im not going to bother telling you as I will be wasting my breath. You can work it out quite clearly when you actually work out how to exploit the enemy weakness with a list you create. Im now officially done with this thread, way too much whining for my liking. Who would have known Khorne's blood had the highest salt content of them all!
  6. Yup! Nothing stopping it from what I see! I do have to say thats a nasty combo right there!
  7. I can see that youre set in your ways and refuse to look at this new book with an open mind so Im not even going to try to respond. There are more ways to do all the things I mentioned, you just have to read the book and think. Its really sad how people are just dropping khorne because their new OP thing isnt handed to them and they have to work it out. I hope the best for you with your new army. We can now talk on this thread more about how to actually make a decent list rather than constant whining, which has been non stop since people's first glance.
  8. I disagree completely from what ive found in the games ive played. Stormcast: We have a lot of mortal wound output now ontop of normal damage, so I dont see this army as an issue. Fyreslayers: Shooty blobs I can agree with, but with how many attacks we can get for one unit its so easy to wipe out enemy blobs. FEC: Again, this army is good at blending hordes. Just about knowing when is the right time to strike. Destruction: Somewhat agree with the ogors mortals output since we dont have any protection for MW anymore, and tough elite units are hard to knock 1 or 2 models off a turn. Nighthaunt: Again, mortal wound output. Skaven: All about knowing when to attack. You need to know what youre doing. Only issue is Skryre. KO: Kinda agree, shooty armies can give us the big hurt. Overall, its just about the fact this army is and will be harder to play than other armies. But then again, why would you want an easy win with another army when you can feel like you earned it every game you play Khorne! Lets not make assumptions like these until AT LEAST a month has passed since book release as its just finding its feet.
  9. So just played another game today. Oh boy this one really showed me the power of Khorne! My list was: Allegiance: Khorne- Slaughterhost: Reapers of VengeanceMortal Realm: GhurLeadersLord of Khorne on Juggernaut - General- Trait: Mage Eater Bloodthirster of Insensate Rage - Artefact: Amberglaive Slaughterpriest- Artefact: Skullshard Mantle - Blood Blessing: Killing FrenzyBloodsecrator BloodstokerBattleline9 x Mighty Skullcrushers - Bloodglaives30 x Bloodletters 10 x Bloodreavers - Reaver Blades10 x Bloodreavers - Reaver Blades10 x Bloodreavers- Reaver BladesBattalionsDark Feast Endless SpellsWrath-AxeTotal: 1980 / 2000Extra Command Points: 1Wounds: 143 We played the mission where only characters can claim objectives. My opponent was skaven and had massive blobs of clanrats in around 40 of size, and one Stormvermin of either 20 or 30. I made sure I went 2nd so that my enemy would have to come closer to me granting me a chance to either kill off his heros so he cant score, or I charge his blobs t1. Bloodstoker whipped the Skullcrushers, granting them +4" to charge rolls! They managed to charge a blob of Stormvermin killing 14 of them before any weapons were swung! The remaining combat I managed to wipe the rest of them out before they struck me back. Bloodreavers were a massive let down. Even when buffed by Dark Feast and a Bloodsecrator they did measly damage vs clanrats only killing 8 or so from 40 attacks. At least they were good tithe points! Wrath Axe lives up to what you think, its so good im going to include it in every list I make in the future. Having 1 priest did make it hard to me to juggle it but I barely managed. The -1 to hit for non khorne units is too good to pass up let alone the damage output! Bloodthirster did exactly what I wanted it to, smacking into a core unit and making it go into fetal position to cry. With only 1 mortal wound proc going off, I still managed to do massive damage to the 40 clanrats and took minimal damage in return. He did die later to 2 lighting cannons, but I summoned him back where he helped snipe some characters. The 3" range was a godsend as I could pick and choose what I wanted to turn into pink mist! Bloodletters didnt do much this game as they were shot down by pesky skaven shooting, but I still believe they are the best battleline we have besides dogs. In my next list ill give them much more support with the skulltaker and even put them in murderhost. Lastly, the Lord of Khorne on Juggernaut. My favourite character/unit in the game and made me get into khorne, wasnt that great. He was parked on an objective for 2 turns sure but 2 lightning cannons finished him off pretty quickly. For someone who is meant to be a tanky damage dealer hes somewhat underwhelming. Still though, a nice pick for those games where you just dont care about the outcome. Overall, I had immense fun slaughtering the vermintide. MVP had to be the Skullcrushers. They are straight up insane at 9 strong and you need to lose 20 wounds on them before you lose the D3 charge damage. Dark Feast being a let down leads me to Murderhost so that my Bloodletters can get into combat quicker as I feel that is their main weakness. Will be swapping the Bloodreavers for Hounds for the anti magic and decent chaff removal. Also replacing the Juggerlord with the Skulltaker so that I have a use for my command points outside of the Bloodthirster.
  10. Its from the realm of beasts I believe! I was seeing a lot of people use Ghyrstrike and I was thinking "that wounding buff is wasted what else is there?" and thus I came across that! Its certainly a combo that would destroy any plan your opponent has!
  11. Ah sweet! Ive actually found playing a sort of Hybrid list works to the army's strengths imo. At least 1 block of 30 letters is my go to battleline atm! Its okay! We can get that youre really passionate about this army, so lets all work together and make this work! Its much better than all of us being upset over something that probably isnt true! Hes a real contender with the Skulltaker for sure, but with his statline im almost feeling he needs a relic like Gorecleaver or Ghyrstrike to do enough damage to make up for the 60pt difference with the Skulltaker, and with slaughterhosts forcing us to take a relic thats making him even more costly, especially since the battalions are difficult to process mentally from first glance! I'll give him another go tonight and come back with more findings! Ive actually had a lot of fun with the idea of an Insensate Rage Thirster with Amberglaive (+1 to hit, +1 weapon range) to snipe out units that are screened with chaff. Charge the chaff, attack the main block with those 5 BEASTLY attacks at 3" range, and see your opponent squeal in fear of his screens being wasted points!
  12. Its more the fact you havent told anyone upon request how many games with the new book youve played. Im all for criticism when its backed up with actual findings during played games rather than mathhammer (which NEVER tells the real story). Just give the army a go for atleast 2 weeks and tell us if the army is bad then. Because I have only played 1 game and still believe that the army can do insanely well when played to its strengths. In other topics, whats everyones opinion of the Juggerlord? Im either getting mixed feelings about him or im not understanding his new role in the army as I feel hes a decent hero hunter. Shame as hes the one model that got me into BoK, Juggernauts for days!
  13. To be fair, I had 2 bloodthirsters against a troggoth hag and only managed to kill it on turn 5 because of bad luck. Im going to give this tome a lot more chances before I deem it anything. Gotta stay optimistic about these things! There is a way! Edit: Also noticed, Skullcrushers work WAY better in units of 6+! They do way more mortal wounds and you wont lose that 6th Juggernaut by the time theyre in combat.
  14. Just lost a game to Gloomspite Gits (mostly from bad luck) and im feeling the same. Im getting the feeling we just have to wait for all the other tomes to get updated and brought down to our level.
  15. I mean it worked in 40k, why not AoS? The campaign sets sold amazingly well with the characters you can only get in the specific sets. Also GW seems to be doing a lot of box sets as a sort of F you to the investors without them really knowing or caring for that matter so they get to reduce the price of the models. I mean look at the past knight titan box set, you essentially get a free knight in it. The Horus Heresy box sets cost less than buying all the marine units form 40k by a huge margin. Box sets are the way to go for value and saving money and GW have really been pushing very well it recently.
  16. Im just thinking, with all the possible dwarf and tzeentchian teasers that have come our way, I have come up with a possibility. A box set including both steamhead duardin and tzeentch arcanites similar to something from the 40k sets like the Raven Guard vs Tau or Blood Angels vs Tyranids or Space Wolves vs Orks campaign sets.
  17. Seeing as thousands sons are the only definite right now and arcanites are just a vague rumour, id still go with the sons. Well, if theyre not weak as hell just like how GW likes it.
  18. @0.51 theres a thousand sons terminator... possible leak?
  19. For all we know they might have thrown a real curveball and started releasing, dare I say it... SQUATS. Does make sense since they do have affiliation with the space wolves and warzone fenris pt.2 is coming out soon.
  20. When the cat bites you enough times you know not to trust the cat. A lot of people feel that way with GW and theyre actually doing something about it now but it does take time to rebuild it. Let the guy go through rebuilding trust and let his opinions be opinions and not judge him because of it. We are all friends here and it really is a nice friendly community where we accept all modes of playstyle and opinion with an easy discussion. In other news, I AM SO PUMPED WHEN ARE THEY COMING WHY ARENT THEY HERE LAST SATURDAY I WANT THEM NOW GIMME GIMME GIMME
