  1. I'm starting the month with this.... all being well, you'll see some changes by March's end!
  2. My reaction was more "why's that geezer hiding under a blanket?"
  3. Pfft. Darkoaths... prancing about, not worshipping the Chaos Gods, wearing boring outfits.... Slaanesh will have you for entree, you little clowns.
  4. That's a lot of models to just flat-out abandon in one fell swoop, isn't it? I can't see it happening, myself. Or maybe I'm just thinking wishfully, cos I've only just finished painting my Fane...
  5. I don't like to admit it, but I think you're probably right. As much as I wishlist about new Slaanesh things (give me my avarice hero!!) I think that we're in a pretty good state right now. As far as I can see, the other Chaos gods' lots are in a similar good place (someone will probably rip me in two for saying that...)
  6. An admirable undertaking. It sounds like a do-able number of models. Will be watching with great interest!
  7. This month I'm going to start painting Glutos. There's no way that I'll complete the model in one month... hell, I'll be pleased if I finish it this year! But I'll make a concentrated effort to get the foundations of it done this month.
  8. Agreed with aplomb. They'd do well to carry across a lot of the features of the Ikit kit (ha ha... ) when they do a new model. Same as how they did the Tzeentch Curseling model, to choose a random example.
  9. Lovely stuff! A smorgasbord of classic models there.
  10. I spent most of today (I'm in Australia) industriously finishing off my Contract models, thinking it was the last day of the month... only to be informed that there's a 29th this year. Oh well, I got them done! Will post pictures once the varnish has dried.
  11. Emperors Children are the Slaanesh ones, aren't they? I should keep an eye out for them... fresh bits and bobs that can be ransacked for my Hedonites. Speaking of... is there a reason that there's no Daemon Primarch for Slaanesh? Excuse my ignorance, 40k is something of a closed book for me.
  12. 60 euros for those rubbishy old Skeletons? And they'll probably sell. You have to credit GW for the strategy... discontinue a product that wasn't doing too flash, abandon it for a decade or so, then resurrect it at double the price, and watch it get lapped up.
  13. Rubbish so far. I'm still hoping their time will come and something epic and awesome will happen. Something to make their daddy proud. Hoping....
  14. Urgh. I'd say tabletop gaming ability and power in the lore are very different creatures. Otherwise the Talon and Voice of Slaanesh are really very rubbish, and will be utterly ineffectual in the fiction.
  15. Yes! They really nailed that. And I love the Twinsouls too, with all their esoteric weapons. In fact, the Egopomp (with that classic 'villain hand' pose) might be my favourite model in the current range!
  16. Oh yeah, that's something I forgot to mention... artwork. I've got a folder of illustrations that I find particularly influential, and often go and browse through it when I need an injection of inspiration.
  17. I should have added that after I've done the matt varnish, I use GW'S 'ardcoat on anything I want to glisten (Fiend and Steed tongues, gemstones, bits that I've painted up to look like black latex fetish gear, etc).
  18. A short (-ish) treatise on my love affair with Slaanesh... Ancient History: Very early on, back in the early 90s, I somehow came into possession of a deck of Warhammer Combat Cards. Amongst them was a card of a Champion of Slaanesh. It was the bald one with the snake body. I loved that model, and, eventually, it turned out to be the first metal model I ever bought. It cost me $7.95 (Aussie dollars). I was still a kid, and couldn't really afford much, certainly nowhere near enough to start an army! But my small collection of models was predominantly Slaaneshi. I was mocked by my friends for painting my HeroQuest Chaos Warriors in purples and pinks! When I grew up a little, my first army was a Chaos one dedicated solely to Slaanesh. I sold off my original collection around Warhammer's Seventh Edition. But when Age of Sigmar came along, I re-immersed myself in the hobby, and started accumulating a new horde of perverted souls. I'm A Sybarite At Heart: If I were magically somehow transported to the Warhammer Realms, I'm pretty sure I'd be a Slaanesh devotee. I'm a prancing, vain, self-aggrandising, arrogant clown! Sound about right? And I've got a deeply obsessive personality. I do so many things to excess. I mean, my current Hedonites collection stands at over 10,000 points worth (not all painted yet, mind). Without getting too personal, I've had a history with addictive... things. I'm a good boy now, but I kind of live vicariously through my Slaanesh worshippers! They are what I wish I could be: a glorious, beautiful creature, exquisitely dressed and adorned with shiny things, indulging every whim to excess! Colours Of The Wyrd: A simple one, this. I love painting purples and golds! Can't imagine that this penchant of mine would suit, say, Orruks. Such Gorgeous Trinkets: Slaanesh miniatures are the greatest. I love every model in the current range. Even the Daemonettes, which I prefer to the Juan Diaz ones which other people seem to prize (I found them impossible to paint!) I've generously peppered my current collection with 'classic' models which I've patiently hunted down via the internet. I've got that bald snake-bodied champion sitting waiting on my painting desk, ready to be painted again (can't remember if this'll be the third or fourth time I've painted that sculpt!) OK, there's been some duds over the years... I'm not going to try to defend the previous Keeper of Secrets sculpt, or Azazel. But as it currently stands... I honestly can't think of a faction of models that is as flawless as the Hedonites. I might be prejudiced, but there you go. Khorne Is A Benny: I've never liked Khorne. All that shouting, stomping, angry nonsense. Did his mummy not love him enough or something? Red's not the only colour, dear. What a twit.
  19. I use Vallejo's matt varnish on everything I paint. One coat for plastic or resin, two coats for metal. Seems to do the trick.
  20. Even though my target was a modest six simple models, I'm unfortunately way behind schedule for this month. I need to knuckle down!
  21. A question that always fascinates me.... why did you choose your army (or armies)? In the flesh, I often ask my fellow generals this, and often the answers are rather intriguing. Was it the background? The models? The way they play? Because they're more likely win you a game? Or.... ? Please do indulge me.
  22. If there was ever a song that nails a Nurgle/Slaanesh alliance, it's Toxic Love from the cartoon movie Ferngully (sung by Tim Curry).
  23. Ah, that'd be why he's so familiar... I probably painted the freebie!
