  1. edit : Ok maybe I got excited a little early (oh really??) but that sounds promising !!
  2. If GW does not change its way, 4th edition should be released in July 2024 (which is too late for me if the Cities of Sigmar are released just before ^^).
  3. I think the same. GW got themselves into this situation with stupid decision to release an AoS/40k edition every 3 years. That's 50 armies (!) to be released every 3 years, it's way too many and it's not surprising that the majority of armies are released with just their battletome/codex and a single miniature. They don't have the capacity to do a real overhaul with each army (not to mention all their other games including HH which is taking up more and more space).
  4. Normally Warcry warbands have specific names. This does not appear to be the case in this list of warscrolls. So I guess there would be no ogor warband for 2022/23 Warcry season.
  5. Does GW want to add a new independent army or two to AoS? Currently 24 factions is already a lot and we see that they are forced to make minimal releases (battletome + 1 miniature hero) to cover all the armies in time before there is a new edition. And that's not to mention 40k (26 factions counting SM supplements) and all their other games to cover. GW has too big a catalog of games/miniatures to handle with this stupid rule of changing editions every 3 years (far too short a time in my opinion). On the other hand concerning the future of the Cities of Sigmar sub-factions, I would see the dark elves joining the army of Malerion as well as the Daughters of Khaine: a kind of battletome covering all the dark elves, whoever they are. But before that, I want the grimdark human with AoS sauce 😛
  6. ... and laugh at me -_-' I guess I'll humbly retire and wait patiently for what happens next... Predictions are for wise prophets, not mortal people ^^.
  7. Ok I must admit that I am very human-centric because I liked Empire at WHB (and above all, I'm a big fan of the grimdark aesthetic, specific to the GW universe) and they remain the reference around which we can dive back into the AoS lore (one of the main criticisms that I hear around me, about AoS, is that there are no humans "made in" AoS). For me it would always be weird to offer a new strongly human range and to make it cohabit with dwarf or elven references, very marked WHB. The mix of WHB/AoS minis that has been a problem for me since the beginning of AoS (more or less depending on the factions). Cities of Sigmar revamp is a huge opportunity to fix this (at the expense of other races, I still admit).
  8. I agree. So far, Empire plastic kits are the WHB references that match the least to the AoS "style" (imho). And that's one of the reasons, I think, the Cities of Sigmar revamp is potentially the biggest release in AoS history. If I had to bet, I would say that we will have a few multi-racial characters (duardins, aelves...) a bit like Cursed City heroes and all the troops will be human-centered.
  9. If GW applies the same scheme to Cities of Sigmar, it would lead to a release around March 2024 (Sisters of Battle: announced late March 2018 / official release early January 2020 = 22 months between the two). Someone had done a recap of the announcement stream at Warhammer Fest where they said the army would be released at the end of the edition. But I was told more recently that they weren't as accurate (more like "later in this edition"). So if there is a "Cities of Sigmar bulletin", it could start in April 2023 (for battle sisters, 1st bulletin mid-February 2019: 18 months before their release). Either way, it's (too) long to wait…hoping at least a little snippet for the now regular January 1 previews.
  10. This reinforces the impression that we won't see anything for Cities of Sigmar in 2022. I know that GW will communicate on this before, as they did for Battle Sisters, but to wait many more months before the slightest visual... it's hard.
  11. Yeah, maybe there's a little too much excitement seeing the words "reveal" and "aos" side by side ^^. Maybe also the next season of war chapter ?
  12. Very extensive pre-orders that will lighten the train of pending GW's releases. What's the reveals going to be for AoS?... The rest of the leaks for Slaves to Darkness (which would be disappointing, let's face it, still because of leaks) ? A first glimpse of the Cities of Sig...? sssshh we dream at night !
  13. There is still a very good chance that these rumor engines are taken from this artwork : Following this, there was a rumor (by a well-known 40k youtuber) about a Kill Team box pitting Inquisition against Khorne Beastmen. Which would coincide with the release of World Eaters codex for the beginning of next year (second Kill Team box around February normally). Regarding tonight's AoS announcements, King Brodd is nice but I wish he stood out more from the other megagargants. Making it just an additional sprue to the existing kit is a missed opportunity I think. Finally more generally on the state of AoS, it continues to be poor in outputs. I really hope that means GW is putting all of their effort into Cities of Sigmar, but I'm afraid 2023 will be another lean year for AoS releases. Especially with the 10th edition of 40k looming next summer.
  14. Can we expect a glimpse of the Cities of Sigmar at the Nova Open or is it just a dream? When the army was announced during Warhammer Fest, they said we could follow the development of the project : It's been four months now...
  15. I'm afraid you're expecting too much... GW said this will only be an AoS, 40k, HH and Underworlds preview. So no Warcry (unfortunately). For Khorne, there should only be for Underworlds (maybe a surprise for World Eaters but I highly doubt that since they normally only come out early next year).
  16. Maybe Chaos Duardins will be released in 2023 but for Cities of Sigmar, I'm betting on spring 2024 (around march or april, maybe february with luck). A few months before July 2024 which should mark the launch of AoS's 4th edition (if GW respects its release cycle usual of a new version every three years).
  17. It sounds plausible to me. On the one hand an army that would never have exceeded the 3/4 kits (SoB) and on the other, an army that GW doesn't seem to want to develop more than that in AoS (ogors). And above all, it would free up a place for a much-awaited faction (Malerion's aelfs - which I would also see merging in V4 with DoK - or especially the Duardins of Chaos).
  18. I think so too. I hope there will be a little more material than the White Dwarf short stories because it would be poor as a book (a novella format rather ?) otherwise.
  19. I'm guessing they'll announce it after the Nova Open reveals. And I would bet strongly on a Votann's mini (which would therefore be released in September).
  20. It's an interesting lead. I wonder to what extent a sculptor is responsible for a single miniature/kit. I remember for example Morback (French sculptor who has been working for GW for a few years now) who said that he had sculpted a very specific element (like a belt or something like that) on an Astra Militarum miniature, from memory (circa 2014). It surprised me at the time. In short, all that to say that if a sculptor falls ill, does this indeed impact the process of creating such and such a new miniature...? It would be interesting to have info but unfortunately GW has blocked all communication on this subject for a long time (I miss the time when White Dwarf was a mine of information on the creative process of new armies). More generally on the lack of interest towards the AoS, I am especially very worried about the rise of Horus Heresy, which could be very detrimental in the long term for the AoS but it is rather off-topic, sorry. For next Wednesday, if we had even a tiny glimpse of GW's current work on Cities of Sigmar, I'd be the happiest of hobbyists !
  21. Hello all, My predictions for Nova Open (I hope I'm wrong and have a little more than this list but I'm not optimistic) : 40k : full reveal for Leagues of Votann. Maybe a glimpse of the Astra Militarum (but I doubt it). Release of World Eaters is still too far away. 30k : I don't care (although I like lore of this period). An endless river of marines and marines tanks... AoS : Tzeentch and Lumineth Battletomes. Perhaps a preview of the Destruction tome(s). In my dreams, new info for Cities of Sigmar. Underworlds: We already know this. Thanks to @Norray ! In summary, the crossing of desert for AoS continues... While the 3rd edition was released barely a year ago, what major release do we have (excluding Stormcasts/Krulboyz) ? Nothing (when I say major release, I mean many new miniatures kits for an army). We will have to wait until this winter to be entitled to it. After around 17/18 months. What consideration from GW for AoS... (I know there is covid and a global transport crisis but that doesn't explain everything in my opinion).
  22. Are there any explicit clues or have you made inferences from more subtle things ? I bet on a Destruction faction against Khorne but come to think of it, bloodhunt is a name that would suit soulblights perfectly... It's cruel to give hopes like that ! 😉
  23. Thinking about it, I think we already have the composition of the next bands with the boxe's names : Sundered Fate: Tzeentch (fate : obvious connexion) vs. Seraphon (already revealed and the "magical" opposition between the two is appropriate) Bloodhunt: Khorne (blood: does it need to be explained...) versus Destruction (hunt... ogors or bonesplitterz?) Nightmare Quest: Slaanesh (nightmare... it can stick) against Flesh-eaters Court (quest : knights : Bretonnians : ghouls)
  24. You're right to make that distinction (just that personally I much prefer the HRE style to the conquistador). But in any case, AoS must emancipate itself from the historical references common in WHB. It wouldn't make sense to take out the Old World, partly for that, and put soldiers straight out of the 17th century into AoS. I really hope that the grimdark they announced will prevail for this new version of Dawnbringers Crusaders. In my eyes, this is perhaps the most important release in AoS's history. I know people who don't stick with the AoS universe because there are no "made in AoS" humans in it. And the game needs sculptures that belong to it. When you think that after 7 years of existence, the miniatures, sculpted and released since the launch of AoS only represent 56% of the complete AoS range (I don't count Warcry or Underworlds in it). This is not normal and clearly not enough.
