  1. Ulfenkarn is definitely a place name. The 'honoured guests' gives me the idea of that they're sticking with the current Soulblight lore of Decadent Undead Vampire Lords and Ladies. The Rumour Engine is definitely the other Werewolf leg from the earlier Rumour Engine. Sadly, it seems like that RE was never going to be Papi Ushoran...
  2. I feel like the only issue I have with the VL is the hair - or at least, the eavy metal paint job with the hair. I get the idea - it is becoming corporeal and still transforming from the swarm of bats on the ends of the hair. I imagine a bit more of a blend between the red 'blood mist' at the ends and a more neutral hair colour - brown or blonde - would have done a lot. Still love it. Definitely looks like my '22 project is already sorted if the rest of the range is looking like this.
  3. Prediction - Skellies are going to get shafted outside of OBR. Deathlords will be LoN minus Skellies, Ghosts and Arkhan. LoN wont be squatted straight away and will be in a weird place for a while whilst NH, Deathlords and OBR sweep up what's left. Will still be able to field Nagash - next Nighthaunt book/BR will have Nagash be able to run in pure NH army too. New Zombies, Varghulf, Giant Bats Blood Knights, Vampire Elite on Foot and Dire Wolves
  4. It has to jump - everywhere. Give it the fly keyword. Make it perfect. On the single rule that slowly but surely every release gives us more and more ridiculous animals for the Lumineth until Tyrion rolls in riding a giant Sloth
  5. The Kangaroo Archers are stunning. They're simultaneously genius and ridiculous and I spent 5 minutes crylaughing at the fact some poor Aelf gotta line up a shot just to have his big kangaroo jack mate jump 6ft in the air and ruin it. God bless. Petition for Lumineth to get full Australia Faction If we can have Cow Temple we can have Platypus Knights
  6. So AOS being first seems to pattern that it'll be the 'main' reveal - so I'd call that the undead faction is going to release in AOS and not Quest. 40k - SoB / Priesty Bois Kill Team - they've teased a new edition of that game for months now, be nice to see something. New starter box? Titanicus - I have no idea, I don't play or follow the tiny versions of big robot game Underworlds - the Vampire warband is a given. Possibly a tease at what those three next bands are? ? - Warhammer Quest is a 75% here, unless the madlads are launching another specialist game? Lord of the Rings spin off? Would probably put money on something akin to Underworlds in 40k - small boxes of models, card based gameplay. It's made me buy a box to satisfy an itch that's made me spend hundreds on armies - new intro product? Sadly, no Warcry - hoping we see some new Warbands soon
  7. If we're getting the BR update news this week, I would imagine the next BR book won't be the Neferata Death update if they're teasing the models and release as part of the Saturday reveal. Which means only one thing. ITS TIME TO SMASH UP THE GATES BOYZ MEATS BACK ON THE MENU - Gordrakk, probably.
  8. The Botchling from Witcher 3 but it's an entire AOS faction We know Slaanesh is due in Feb, and by this schedule, it should be Week 2 - unless they release at the very back end of this month and have two weeks of releases. That gives us two fortnightly releases of AOS to the three releases for 40k. It wouldn't surprise me if it's another 40k week - they're due 3 codexes in the next 3 months - so Release 2 of Feb and Release 1 of March. This is also assuming that we don't see a BR book until the end of March at the earliest. I would guess it'll be a second 40k codex - Dark Angels potentially - and then Feb being the 'AOS' month - before we move back into *hopefully* the weekly releases if GW has fixed their manufacturing issue. Alchemists Workshop posted on Twitter the colossal list of items that GW currently has out of stock for retailers - so March seems hopeful though for a return to weekly releases, especially within the confinements of Lockdown in the UK looking from the Gov like they're looking at the Summer being the end of this mess. If I'm a betting man : End of Jan - second 40k codex and that crusade book they showed about in the last reveal. Feb - Slaanesh and third 40k codex. March - BR book.
  9. What about Vampire Pirate Babies... Who are also Witch Hunters.
  10. If we're all correct, and Broken Realms : Gordrakk comes this year, they could both be tie-ins... VAMPIRES BABY LETS GO
  11. Going with the obvious ones here - If we can get a lore reason for Nagash to appear (as an avatar or image or however), I would kill for some equivalent for Sigmar and Gork. Let me have gods fight it out. The Newborn could work too, if Archaon isn't already enough. Just add the errata that it's a young god and not 'full power' yet so can be banished and return. Ushoran. He's around, let him come scrap it out.
  12. That is a stunning model. It's grim and disgusting. Excellent job - hope it's a peak at things to come for the SCE
  13. Heads up everyone - UK media is reporting that we are potentially facing a full nationwide lockdown. Even though GW proved during the first lockdown to be able to get out new releases, it'll undoubtedly throw off transporting those releases and deliveries. Would expect significant delays. Worst case scenario - it'll likely cause 3.0 to get pushed back until 2022 if it throws off the release schedule as Lockdown 1 did.
  14. Looking at that, your tanky line is absolutely solid. Judging from my own experience, though, Stormcast are a bit downtrodden when it comes to dishing it out. If you're running Evocators, I'd recommend some more Sequitors, but with that block of Retributors, I'd go for them in most lists you're playing. They're tanky and smashy and definitely ain't as meat-shieldy as a lot of things get. Celestar Ballistas are your bread and butter with pumping out numbers at range. Most of my lists sit around 2 or 3, but I've seen as many as 4 played at 2k points. If you're going for some, I'd also recommend an Ordinator If you're looking for a cheap option to pick some up, if you're in the UK, the Mortal Realms magazine has the ETB kit or the Soul Wars Sprue (which has the bonus of a few Evocators, some Primes and another Knight Incantor) for £8. In terms of combo, the Hammers of Sigmar's command ability to bring back destroyed units is VERY swingy when it works - and though Anvils of the Heldenhammer is generally stronger alliance - if you're running a large block of Liberators, nothing can be as fun as being able to slap 20 back on the board after they're destroyed. Hope any of this is helpful
  15. I'd call the Soulblight and the Skeleton being the Underworlds March Warband, where as the the Halloween Preview, as well as this Ogre/Draugr/Orruk looking fellas being a part of the wider AOS side of the release. Imo AOS box release will be heavily Deadwalker themed - focus on Flesh Golems, Zombies, Alternative 'Undead' (Ogre Zombie Elites, more Zombie Monsters) If I'm wishlisting, Werewolves. Give us at least one Werewolf hero - bring back Skin Wolves as a Death unit - update Dire Wolves - lemme build a doggo army Warcry Catacombs definitely leads to a couple of specific 'undead' warbands and monsters too - to fill out other gaps that exist. Could see Varghulf's updated model being through Warcry.
  16. I think, judging from lifespan, it's hard to judge AOS for bloat just yet - right now imo, everything is been fairly gucci. We are 5 years in, after all, and it is only in the past 2/3 that AOS has really 'found itself' and fixed the obvious teething problems. I would say that we have only reached 'maximum capacity' once it becomes a struggle for each faction to have a 'reasonable' release over an edition. In my opinion, 'reasonable' on the standards of at least one new sculpt/model and new battletome per edition. If we reach a point in 3rd or 4th where that's not happening - where factions - like has been previous trends in 40k - with factions living multiple editions out-of-date - then yes, wind back. But right now? Bloat us with shiny new stuff - take my wallet idc - gimme.
  17. Undead Davy Jones deserves a Flying Dutchman let's go If we can have Flying Sea Monsters and Flying Dwarf Ships, we deserve flying ghost ships. And at least 1 Kraken and it best be a Zombie.
  18. The Cloud Lumineth teaser has me immediately think Sun Wukong - Monkey-themed Wind Temple?
  19. The Volturnos/Morathi alliance is similar too - allies driven by 'enemy of my enemy' and a mutual agreement for reaching power together Where as they have a shared feeling of being denied their 'right' to power, Teclis/Allarielle share a feeling of isolation that they were driven out of and being 'forced' to act to reach their end goals of eradicating Chaos. It's clear that both alliances won't last - they've/d made friends purely to achieve their common goals. It's why, imo, having Malerion as the 'third pillar' seems like where you have your narrative twist - Malerion, who spent his life committing heinous acts because of being denied his right for power, and understand all too well that 'the end justifies the means', knows that Teclis and Allarielle would commit acts far beyond what would be justified (eg. Teclis would happily wipe out the Deepkin if given the chance) Imo we'll see it Q4 2021 - it'll definitely be pushed back, but I'd say to the Late September release slot or the Early October slot. If I'm being mindful of the way GW sees 3.0 after Indomitus and 9th 40k, i would not be doubtful of an Indomitus-esque release box to really push that graph upwards - I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest for GW to make Indomitus-esque release boxes a staple from now on. Indomitus made a lot of monies - It would be a strange move for GW to not want to try and keep cashing in on the hype dollars. November will be the new starter set release to begin the Christmas run-up and the big drive for AOS 3.0 at Christmas It would also work as a sweet way to push out those Christmas Battleforce boxes in 2021 - "NEW EDITION GET UR NEW ARMY LETS GO". Also Happy New Year boys, girls and nbys
  20. MASSIVE PREDICTION POST INCOMING ---- At the end of 2020, I've got my final Broken Realms predictions. First prediction and core prediction - I disagree that Broken Realms will be a continuous narrative, but rather, all the books will occur over a singular parallel timeline - in which events lead to each other simultaneously. This is why Sigmar does not send his full forces to deal with Morathi's ritual or the uprising and the formation of Har Kuron In my opinion, BR is working to set up all our current factions at a singular narrative point that will kick off 3.0 - which in my opinion, will be Sigmar's pushback against the forces of Morathi-Order/Chaos/Death/Destruction that BR sets up as well as the Order/Aelven Civil War. Book 2 - Gordrakk After Morathi manipulated Sigmar to bring the SCE into a push through Ghyran into the Eightpoints, Gordrakk sees his chance, pushing the Grand forces of Destruction into Excelsius, breaching the gate and smashing their way into Azyr. Ultimately putting their greed aside, the forces of the Baraks and Fyreslayer lodges are the only true forces standing in the way of Gordrakk headbutting Sigmar and proving he is, undoubtably, da best. The book ends with our first major 3.0 tease - as Sigmar sees the events of Excelsius and begins the process of opening the next chamber... Armies - Orruk Warclans, Ogor Mawtribes, Kharadron Overlords, Fyreslayers. Gloomspite Gitz gets some small note for an army of pure Gobbos - they've had Tome Celestials for each of the other portions of their book. Book 3 - Alareille Focusing back on our first big narrative moment in Morathi, these are the events that occur during the initial breaching of the Ghyran gate, and Nurgle's powerplay as a 'the gate works both ways'. Alareille sees no other hope than to ask for help from her oldest ally - Teclis, and the LRL, to fight back against the Nurgle and Beastmen that are now carving through Ghyran. As the book ends, we are at a stalemate. Even with the LRL, Alarielle is pushed further back into Ghyran and Nurgle's power is rapidly spreading. An agreement is made between the Aelven Gods - and Tyrion sends a message to his brother to send aid, and solidifying their alliance - at the time in which the Deepkin and DoK have made an alliance of their own. ELVEN CIVIL WAR BABY (setting up for our 3.0 Malerion as the deciding factor between the two, or a third pillar...?) Armies - Sylvaneth, BoC, Lumineth, Nurgle. At this point, I would expect our first battlebox of the year - with Beastmen vs Sylvaneth : featuring Pestigors and a Pestigor hero matched against a Spite Revenant hero. Nurgle will be the 'red headed stepchild' here, with what I'd expect to simply be rules concerning including Pestigors within your Maggotkin lists and changes to the existing rules to help tide them over. I expect a Nurgle battletome and wider release to come later - possibly after 3.0 - and a victim of the Covid Calendar Pushback. Book 4 - Neferata HELLO VAMPIRES OUR NEW LORDS AND SAVIOURS We will have seen our Vampire friends in Beastgrave months before we see our dead friends fleshed out with a new battletome and BR book. The narrative beginning with the OBR push from Morathi - and providing us our first major players as Katakros now comes face to face with the armies of Tzeentch. What better way to really give Mr According to Plan a narrative arc beyond Everchosen than having him face-to-face with the God of According to Plan? Seeing the events of the OBR invasion, and the breach of Azyr from Gordrakk's forces, Neferata decides to show her face with her plan to use the armies of death to solidify Nagash's hold in Shyish. The Stormcast are busy, Chaos is dealing with David Bowie's Buldge and The Corpse Bridge. Just one problem - It's Khorne, and the big boi wants to play who can take skulls and drink blood better, Vampires or Khornate cultists? At the meantime, Vampire agents across the Realms begin to act as they're threatened by the actions of Destruction and Order - this is what we see in BR Morathi as a Vampire deals with the Har Kuron insurgents. The narrative ends with a 'meanwhile... in the Black Pyramid'. Nagash is realising all this death around the Realms is pretty good for him, and stroking his beard and doing his best Skeletor impression, decides to finally go meet his old friend and sort out their ****** ... Spoilers - it's definitely Ushoran. This is to Death what Book 2 is to Destruction - the final 'hurrah' before. LoN will have their book by this point, so I'm calling rules for Nighthaunt, OBR, DoT and BoK as well as FEC. Book 5 - Verminking. In a dramatic conclusion - this is, imo, the book that will drag all of these narratives together. The Skaven Council of 13 - casting their gaze around the Realms - sees one common thing : anarchy ripe for feasting, just as planned. It is here our good friend, captain killsteal, herald of a Chaos god, Skreech gives the order - invade Azyr, maw through into the Heavens itself and steal Sigmar's throne for the true king of reality, the Great Horned Rat. After pushing into Azyr, the Skaven - as usual - realise they had a major flaw in their brilliant plan. The Order of Azyr, the chosen of the Church of Sigmar, stand in their way ... as well as a whole army of Orruks, Goblins and Ogors who want to do it too. And so, as Skaven do, they try plan B - Lock Sigmar in - and as armies of Undead, the Newborn, Morathi-Khaine and the endless enemies of Sigmar clash at the gates of Excelsius, the Skaven do the one thing they're good at and destroy the open gate of Azyr. The pathway is gone - or at least the pathway in has vanished. The Skaven, as Skaven do, have almost brilliantly been the downfall of Sigmar by complete accident and misplanning. Had it not been for Sigmar himself opening the chambers of *siege warfare*. It was clear that Sigmar could not sit idle as his enemies planned to overthrow him - he must crush them - and so launches his new boys in azerite to begin the process of laying siege to the Realms. Welcome to 3.0 bois - Sigmar is finally on a true warpath and is taking no prisoners anymore. Book 5, minus a heavy focus on fixing Skaven, will likely be mostly flavour warscrolls. At this point, I'd expect 3.0 to be a month or two away - all of our GAs are now at some level of intensity : Chaos has launched a grand counterattack into Ghyran and Shyish as well as gaining a new god and blowing up a realm gate Death has began the next state of its grand invasion into the Eightpoints and truly solidify its hold in Shyish and begin working its master plan across the Realms. Destruction has unified, under one banner, and breached Azyr. Even though they're now practically trapped, there is now a single minded force of absolute smashin' on a warpath across the Realms starting with Azyr. Order now faces trouble from everyone - Chaos, Death, Destruction and itself. An aelven civil war is brewing, Azyr is breached, Chaos/Death/Destruction are now even more of a threat, but they're not down and out just yet. TLDR : the rats are going to almost end the whole world by blowing something up... for the hundredth time
  21. The fact that Katakros got his rightful 1st place stolen in 2019 and now Eltharion got cheated out of a place in the entire list in 2020 is proof that we should riot.
  22. Orruks. It wouldn't surprise me to see a "redux" of the old 6th edition WFB Empire vs Orcs starter, just with Stormcast over Empire. A Warboss on Gore Grunta Chariot as a nice centrepiece and leader. A Gore Grunta Warboss or Shaman 5 Brutes 10 'Ardboys to give them a nice newer look to fit in a bit better If you're feeling cheeky, throw in a few Gore Gruntas too, make it really Boar-Heavy. --- In terms of the SC, if the next chamber is going to be the 'Siege/Defence' Stormcast and build on the Ballista and Ordinator, in a way our Bowbois built into the Vanguard and... idk Birdcats (?) turned into Sancosanct (?), would work nicely to face them off against a chunky fast force. I want a centrepiece that feels like a siege weapon for the SC tbh. As much as I love centrepiece Hero models like the Greater Daemons or Alarielle, stuff like the Mortek Crawler really made me wish for nice flashy models for artillery pieces. They have a dragon and an angel, give them a trebuchet GW. Gimme a centrepiece I can perch on the edge of the field and chuck lightning-rocks around
  23. Outside of living in Nurgle's Garden, New Years eve predictions : Seraphon Warband for Underworlds Palaquin and Heroes for the Hedonites for AOS Possibly a tease for the next Warcry Warband? - Who knows where that's going, but I would bet my life it isn't Chaos 40k will get some focus on their new codexes. If we are being hopeful, the sneaky teaser-of-the-teaser-of-the-reveal for Soulblight/Vampirates/Grotbags/Crab People/Those Insect People from Beastgrave/Kurnothi, because obligatory
  24. What's an artifact? I only know Priest Buffs that somehow don't interact properly with existing Priests Shrines seems the go-to but some of the wording is throwing me off - particularly that the 'better' prayers are obviously mark focused and it's in a subfaction that buffs Cultists... who can't take marks and Rokar is undivided too. Is it worth to take some marked Knights to make use or is the Undivided Heal worth it enough for Shrines and Chariots?
  25. What does everyone recommend for an Idolaters list outside of the obligatory Cultists and Chariots? Is the Ogroid Myrmidon worth it for the Cultist buff?
