  1. I remember the concept of wandering monsters and rules were introduced in.... that last narrative book with StD right? I wonder if they were testing ideas for the future? It seemed like a really interesting idea, and I think someone brought it up here before. Wondering monsters would be a great option for some narratives in a dangerous and wild land.
  2. I just really didn't like the model at all - it seemed so outdated to me.. Also I was able to 3d print much more imposing versions 🙂 You can only find him in the warcry section of the website - he's not even in the BoC section I believe.
  3. I mean, I wouldn't put money on it but it's a very interesting monster choice to use - and for it to be specifically different from the current sculpt - which frankly I thought was in risk of becoming a legend - , does make me wonder if maybe they would update it in some way... maybe there is future in the age of beasts for us yet. In any case, I go to sleep today thinking there is a future for the chimera a lot more than I when I woke up.
  4. really interesting observation - i had half a mind to think the Chimera was going... but maybe they'll be an updated sculpt or something? he's still resin, isn't he?
  5. my understanding is there is someone who just got the last page as a screenshot, which just shows points
  6. Indeed, and apparently an increase in cost and decrease in save for the beastlord. Hm. I guess we'll see if it pans out.
  7. figured it out if you havent - you gotta react to join a bunch of the subchannels. it's like react for permissions or something like that.
  8. what stuff for beasts is getting updated? (allegedly) 🙂
  9. weirdly i don't see a spoilers section on the discord either....
  10. Where is all this found? i'm interested in the BoC cost changes, if that's true....
  11. What i'd like to know is about GHB2021. What do they do in a new edition year? It sounds like there are going to be widespread point changes, would they try to have it released around the same time as the new edition?
  12. This is what it looks like to me... but I was figuring with also with some sort of open ended - i dunno, beaten and humiliated so he wanders off alone to get badder and tougher and maybe has some sort of epiphany with gorkamorka that brings him back 'improved' later in the destruction story. I don't think he's going to be a non-player for an edition allegedly destruction focused.
  13. I actually think it might be a musician... like a drummer.
  14. Ah, Well honestly, it's a bunch of stages of grief. I'd been holding with baited breath on this new destruction faction because i was afraid i'd want to jump ship completely, or that it would be too much overlap for my... eldritch horror / lovecraftian beasts of the dark theme. Now that it seems more like mordor orcs or something, i'm confidant to move on forward. there will be something eventually, even if it's just points... but who knows? Kragnos might allow beasts in to his fold. If not, I would (hope) something will come in the era of the beast!
  15. I guess the counterpoint is that gobbapalooza (and that aesthetic) already exists, especially within destruction. I think having different styles is great for a hobby where people like different things. I'd argue there isn't a common aesthetic already, why should a new faction conform to it? There can be more 'dark horrors' as opposed to more... playful gremlins? I agree with the other poster above - Fimir might not be a completely original concept, but it's a pretty original concept for warhammer - it's not the tropes of goblins, orcs, elves, and the like. I think they could very easily supplement an army (although from my perspective, I wish it were BoC). For awhile I got the impression they wanted to stop doing the easily identifiable things and replace them with more sigmarified things.
  16. I'm not really convinced the lore issues of Fimir is impossible to resolve - after all, it wasn't long ago that Forgeworld had them, and if anyone delves too deep in the lore, there's plenty of ick out there. That said, I doubt the faction would JUST be Fimir. I expect Fimir would likely play a roll in a bigger army - they'd be the monstrous infantry, maybe with a balefind and a generic character... but more a supplement to something else (like the marsh goblins/sneaky skulkers or something else). That would allow all those rumors to coexist. This seems a lot more reasonable. the new faction is warg riders and large gobbos with maybe one or two Fimir - a similar roll to troggoth? Or is that all too samey for exactly what they already have? It's all well and good to talk about a new destruction faction, but they also would want them to feel and play different. ...
  17. The true legions of Khemri would never stand down, regardless of explanation or rationalization.
  18. At least Skaven had a narrative role to play in the whole thing. I don't believe so far BoC or Khorne were mentioned at all... but I guess there's still one more book for that. I assume in book 4 there will be a single paragraph where Khorne will be able to do a running high five to Belakor for the last book. I guess, technically he can use Khorne demons in his first prince faction. So some of their stuff can be used in a new way / with the belakor model. If Kragnos works for all of destruction, I assume Belakor works for those chaos gods as well? That covers him...?ish? 😛
  19. Honestly at this point I'd just like warcom or someone 'official' to acknowledge their existence. The fact that Kragnos isn't BoC sucks, but it doesn't bother me as much as they more or less confirmed many of the factions that would be used in the upcoming book and would be getting rules/battalions/updates/etc. I expected them to at least be a side player in this, but apparently not. The problem is I only just started BoC a few months back, and I'm increasingly concerned they're being squatted/forgotten. Maybe they'll be split to gods / StD. Maybe they'll just languish on... but darn, it would be helpful for someone to say something at this point. I've barely been in this for long and already lived through: No points updates / end of year faq Slaangor - not having brayherd or other relevant keyword, and otherwise being stinky Nothing in Broken Realms at all (despite there being a centaur creature) and further, not being acknowledged. So.. maybe there is some sort of AoS 3.0 plan to separate them, or give some of the the destruction keyword, but darn. It feels rough.
  20. As time has gone on I wonder if there is more evidence suggesting he's not destruction. Destruction is getting new toys with the 3.0 starter, almost certainly. I'm keeping fingers crossed it's a BoC thing. I think they're one of the only factions (maybe Khorne ? and all of the destruction GA that haven't even been mentioned in any of the books (let alone got rules / release)
  21. Just wondering - the tides have really shifted to assuming Kragnos is Destruction based... knowing we're getting a sylvaneth model, and based on the list above... Is there a growing possible he's BoC after all? Destruction appears to be getting a new starter set, so maybe they don't need a new centerpiece / god character now - I would assume more might be on the way for them in the months ahead if they're in the starter as we expected. It really only leaves Skaven, Khorne, and BoC. And I hate to say it - but at least Skaven technically DID something in Belakor. BoC and Khorne have literally not been mentioned as far as I know....?
  22. Is AoS 3.0 going to bring the narrative to the much awaited Age of Centaurs? Death, Order, and Chaos got em... and if Kragnos is destruction....
  23. Question - with all the talk about a new edition, and then the talk of potential printing issues / tariffs with China being behind the Cursed City stuff - do we know if there is going to be an GHB2021, and if so, would the fact that it's printed in China (or at least it was last year) impact that at all? Do they tend to release when there is a new edition within a few months? would the announcement (or lack of) mean anything? I believe we saw the import records of GHB2020 by this time last year....
