  1. Plays Khorne, Slaanesh and more recently OBR. He does have a SCE army so he was being more of a devil's advocate and said he personally wouldn't play the rule that you could repeat proc from Cycle of the Storm potentially multiple times.
  2. My final question would be the interaction with the slay general battle tactics. If you pull the trick on your general but at the end of the turn you have your general left alive on 1 wound, they would still score the battle tactic and grand strat (providing their general is alive at the end of the game) because your general has been slain? Edit: spelling
  3. Cheers for the clarification, I'll take this to my friend who has been disputing this interaction and report back! Edit: Well now I've been told not to be a **** and abuse edge case abilities 😂 I just hope they clear this interaction properly in the 3.0 tome to avoid this dispute.
  4. Will this still work? With the FAQ where you need to resolve rules one at a time, you resolve blaze of glory which ends with the model being removed, so now there is nothing to cycle of the storm afterwards?
  5. The core battalions are now huge in my opinion. As a SCE player, it was very rare that I'd bother to take battalions (outside of the Vanguard mega) because they weren't that great. This change allows me to actually take an additional artefact in most lists I write now.

My friend was arguing that this wouldn't work. because Cycle of the storms is worded 'Once per turn, when a friendly Stormcast Eternal model is slain within 18" of this model, instead of removing the slain model, you can heal 1 wound allocated to it. This model cannot use this ability on itself.' He argues that because of the 'instead of removing the slain model' it wouldn't be slain, because slain models have to be removed. I argued that order of operations would go 'model slain' -> 'Activate abilities around slain models' '-> ' Use cycle of the storm to bring model back' Could you help me explain this better to him?
  7. The guy I was quoting said about spacing everything 0.99 inches apart to still deny space, that's why his scenario wouldn't work.
  8. As soon the ends lose 1 each then the model on the end of each side of the line is now only next to 1 model, so it breaks until you're down to 5. Edit: In the scenario of one long line with a group of 3 at each end.
  9. So where do you allocate wounds? After 3 wounds are allocated, the entire line breaks coherency and gets removed if you do that?
  10. I also agree with this. My game group runs fairly try-hard/competitive lists/armies and although I've been the underdog using SCE (despite their cries for me to pick up a new army like Idoneth) I still manage to make most games competitive and sometimes pull a win. When a couple of them tone down lists and take more non-meta armies (e.g. Khorne) I manage to fair pretty well/stomp games.
  11. The 5+ FNP is to mortals only, so with a 4+ save and only 5 wounds, he's still gonna die to most things he'll charge into. He also loses the attacks on charge bonus compared to the vanilla celestant. The fact you need to run Hallowed Knights to use him as well is another big yikes. This is the first time my hope in 3.0 reinvigorating SCE has faltered. I'm worried we're stuck for the next 2-3 years. Edit: Also he's on a bigger base compared to the vanilla celestant. Surely that'd justify making him tougher than the original, and worth more than 110 points.
  12. Yes, I believe Grand Staves are better in almost all situations (I think 2+ save swords come out on top).
  13. That website gives a stormkeep patrol liberator spam list 'S' tier for damage. I'm not sure how reliable that algorithm is.
  14. Only once on the same unit right? If two different eligible units die in the same phase you can still pop a command ability on each? Just only one time per unit.
