  1. I wouldn't be disappointed personally. For me it's all about Teclis and the mages, what they can do and how powerful they are. I would be fine with a great monster or something like that too. But I think Tyrion will come as a big reveal in the end.
  2. I agree with you on Tyrion. The above "reasoning" is a joke of course but I do believe Tyrion will part of this release. And might actually come with a changed Malhandir like Archaon. For the same reasons as you do. I think he will be one of the big reveals at the Adepticon. There is just no one else left with the same kind of appeal and nostalgia. For the same reason I think there will be no "Angel-Aelves". The Stormcast already have that kind of style, Teclis made the Idoneth and Lumineth to resemble the old High Elves, and neither he nor Tyrion seem to look like half Elf, half Angel. Most of the time the change in the god kind of reflects the change in the faction. Maybe they have one unit with "light wings" or something like that, but I think it's more likely they have monsters and mounts which can fly. Much in the same way the Idoneth are.
  3. On the discord someone also had the idea of a black market for the used aetherquartz with stored Lumineth emotions. Pretty cool idea. They've put in quite a lot of stuff into the Lumineth. Should be fun. (the one above though seems to imply this is just great beer or? "Without the need for magic". Anyway cool stuff. Thanks for finding that gem)
  4. Do they come out wth mechanics normally before release? I'll add a few more things to speculate in the meantime : ) If you look at the Teclis model, his belt has the full four Hyshian spirits rune from the article. And the two aeherquartz plates we can see both have a combined two spirit rune on them (Zenith/Wind, and Mountain/River). The same Mountain/River rune was depicted on the art of the Warden in the first release. So I guess if there is really a dichotomy with the spirits mechanics then it's either four or those two. And it looks like Teclis can channel all four spirits. So the whole Sun/Moon thing might be some different mechanic or just fluff. Now if you look at the picture showing three Wardens from the yesterday, the central High Warden has a dragon on his plate, while the one next to him has a horned sphinx symbol instead. You can also see them both in the photo where they fight the Skaven. The High Warden has the dragon symbol and the one next to him has the horned sphinx heads symbol. The dragon is also shown on the new art of the "zenith warden". Combined this with the new Rumour Engine picture of a stone and a tree, this can only mean one thing: Tyrion on a Sun Dragon confirmed 🤪
  5. Yup, but they also mentioned they'll try to implement them afterwards as soon as possible. So eventually they'll come. ^^
  6. Some interesting things in the article. I really like the sunmetal idea, and what they did with the High Warden. Having a kind of warrior-mage/scholar commanding them is really fitting with HE and Hysh lore, and depending on how this is implemented mechanically could be really fun to play with (do they have 4 bonuses? Only one per faction or per unit? Chosen per turn or per game etc.). And it looks like we have the first art of a zenith Warden. I thought previously Zenith is associated with light, but it seems to be fire in the end. He even has red, fiery eyes. The metal color also changes with their spirit association it seems. So the whole mountain, wind, river and zenith stuff is just a fancy way of saying earth, air, water and fire, which again is very fitting for (a)elves. The zenith warrior also seems to have a dragon symbol on his armour, and dragons would fit with a fiery theme, so everyone who hopes for dragons might get something in the end. : ). I really also like that color scheme. And we learned that the Warden's art from the first lowdown two weeks ago showed him with a mountain/river rune on his armour. I wonder if such combinations lead to even more options for spells/traits. That would a be a lot though in case any of the combinations are ok. So probably not. But, by the Twin Gods, if they keep this pace of revelations with a focus on one unit every two weeks, we are in for a bit longer run than I expected. They seem to expect from us the kind of emotional detachments a Lumineth has after quite a lot of aetherquartz. Edit: If I'm not hallucinating, they took out the every two weeks reference in the original article. Which means we might get something new faster (or slower ....).
  7. He is now constantly mentioned together with Teclis. I can't imagine he's not part of this release. Who else could they reveal as the big "wow" moment? Imrik? Alith Anar? A new hero? Just some kind of cool monster? Possible of course, but for me that's really hard to believe with what of a nostalgia HE fan service the Lumineth have been so far. Sure it's possible that they want to keep him for a second release down the road, but there are still so many other factions they can release, why take the risk? Let's see. Anyway just a few more hours now for the second part. Wheeeeee.
  8. That’s one of the interesting things in the book. Malerion is not mentioned, and all of the defenders were Lumineth. It also says that Archaeon has one shot at freeing Slaanesh, if he fails (which he did because of the attack on Eightpoints), T&T would be able to hide Slaanesh again. So looks like Malerion and his DE as well as the freeing of Slaanesh are not going to come that soon. The book also confirms that the Realmgate between Hysh and Eightpoints is still open (same is true for Ulgu). So it might be that that is the main story of the Lumineth? After being attacked by Archaon, that they have to go on the offense and at least recapture the fortress on their side of the Realmgate?
  9. When I first read the book I thought the same, but to be fair it’s a surprise attack and they get one sentence which says they fought fiercely. Damn their editing though. : ) I read the sentence with Tyrion’s and Teclis finest troops, and was screening down and on the next page - dragons? Angel-like brings? Spirits? Nope, just archers and spearmen with warmachines, grrrrrr : )
  10. I know exactly what you mean, and it’s likely a combination of you not having found “your” faction yet, the perspective of the setting being different (the old world was just closer not only to our world but many other fantasy settings), and AoS lore being still new. Besides the novels - Soulbound, an AOS-based RPG will come out in a few months, this did a lot to flesh out the the old world in the past, and I’m sure it will do it for AOS too. I think the Lumineth Battletome, maybe some Lumineth novels and the RPG will change things a lot for us old HE fans in that respect.
  11. I think it'll come. You see more and more of the TW WH YouTubers etc. venturing into showing AOS related content. And some of these are pretty successful. AOS now has also so much more in common with the old setting (in terms of factions) than at the start where people like myself were still really angry about the whole thing, and just pissed at the "Sigmarines". But now, although the setting is completely different, and you have interesting new factions, there are a lot of similarities if you only look at the armies. I can't imagine they won't try out a TW AOS after WH3.
  12. Thanks, always interesting, and some good points. We do know though how aetherquartz looks like. The 4 mirror like things on Teclis model (and in the art) are aetherquartz. Aetherquartz is described in the "Malign Sorcery" book as "translucent prisms" that once solidified is found in "mystical patterns or rune like symbols" which only the Aelves can understand. As for Tyrion, I just think it would fit with the purpose. In terms of Lumineth, there is nothing which would have the same oomph as a Tyrion reveal. If they put him on a dragon-like creature, then even more so. Before they made the "Pointy Aelves" vid, most of us also had no idea about Teclis being the leader, nor that he'd come with a sphinx. Let's see what happens : ) Aetherquartz:
  13. As they have the "Biggest Warhammer Preview EverTM" there, it's likely that the full reveal of the Lumineth will be part of it. If Tyrion or dragons are part of the Lumineth I'd be really surprised if we see them before. That actually makes it seem more likely for me that Tyrion is part of the release this time. With Teclis and Eltharion both shown already, there isn't another HE on the same level.
  14. You were not hallucinating. : ) It's there: "Dann fehlt noch die Kriegsmaschine mit den Hämmern oder wie war das Gerücht damals ? Bekomme es einfach nicht mehr zusammen..." And he is saying that he is referring to a rumor from two years back that said something about Sparta Aelves and a hammer throwing war machine. But he isn't really sure if that was actually the content of the rumor.
  15. I hope not, we already have a lot of half elf/half something units. I'd rather the Lumineth are more traditional elves fighting with those spirits like in the Teclis model, or using them as mounts etc. The words they used in the article ("communicate", "channel") seem to point more in that direction, but of course it's possible the Lumineth get some units similar to the Sylvaneth.
  16. Don't give up on your greatswords yet : ) . That one does look even less like a warhammer to me. It likely has something to do with their magic, one of those being stone maybe, and the other wind/light. The Retributor shaft don't look that thin to me. But then of course you'd expect Aelven weapons to be more delicate than Stormcast ones. But still, those don't look like weapons to me (not impossible of course).
  17. I also think this is not a war hammer, for the same reason as others. What would be the handle looks too flimsy. More like some of the decorative parts on the helmets we have seen so far. Could be from a mage staff or something, but I hope not. Does the wording in the Rumor Engines provide such hints? If so then it seems to be likely to come from some kind of war engine. It's definitely an interesting pick. It brought us successfully through another day without real news for the Lumineth. 5 to go.
  18. It’s really interesting to see what everyone liked most about the HE. For me it was all about the mages (Saphery, Hoeth etc.). That was one of the things which was great about the old HE, all the distinctive Kingdoms and play-styles. I hope we get 4 equally distinctive ways with the Lumineth. So far it sounds good, but I would be really sad if there was no magic heavy faction for example. I don’t know why but I’m sure there will be greatswords. Maybe because they showed Swordmasters in the Pointy Aelves video.
  19. What a beautiful army, really well done. My old HE army would have to hide in shame : ). I hope you have a lot of fun with them.
  20. I read this as starting next time with their spearmen, and in following updates with others, but I really hope you are right : )
  21. OBR were revealed at the NVO (August 29th) and then had a few similar articles until you could pre-order them on Nov 2, so hopefully it won't be much more than two months altogether. If they stick to a similar pattern. But maybe they go a bit more into detail with the Lumineth, as it looks like the second article focuses only on their spearmen (and maybe the runes/symbols in general).
  22. I agree, Chamon shows dragons for example in the same way. I just saw that and wanted to show it so that people know exactly how it looks like. Tyrion is called the Lord of Lumination, and in the way they describe him and Teclis in the lowdown, it would be a bit strange if Tyrion is the leader of a separate faction: "With the peerless martial prowess of Tyrion and the enlightened teachings of Teclis driving their every action on the battlefield, the Lumineth Realm-lords are the art of war made manifest." Edit: Of course they still could get "Angel Aelves" within the same faction. Maybe some of the bonding/channelling of the wind/azyr spirits leads to that, at least temporally. Or something like that.
  23. In Malign Sorcery it says that Hysh is light, which is transformed into translucent prisms that are called aetherstone. Once solidified it shows runes or symbols. And so far only the Aelves have made any sense of those symbols. I think the mirror like things that Teclis is wearing in the art and the model is aetherstone. Probably we hear more about that next week when they talk about the runes. Here it is:
  24. That’s what I meant. A lot of things that died have come back in a different form now. I don’t think they’ll just put Tyrion on a normal Horse if he gets a model. And yup, could be they just stay with something along the lines of the spirit of Hysh or other Greek inspired monsters.
  25. Tyrion had a famous horse, just like Archaon. It’s a possibility. And as none of the dragon models of the HE are included in the free cities... . If they include him, it likely will be one of the last models they’ll reveal, so will still take some time.
