  1. As I'm a Teclis fan, I'd be fine if they just show more of Eltharion and Teclis (especially if we'd get to know a bit more about what's up with Celennar), everything else is just a bonus for me. So, I'm really looking forward to this. Might turn out that the Hysh Spirits are also former High Elf souls or something like that. After all, it looks like no other realm has spirits like that, and as the Lumineth are only the "purest" souls they could salvage, T&T must be doing something with the rest. And purifying them in Hysh could just be the thing. Anyway not much longer for our fix.
  2. If they really show us many of the heroes as mentioned on the video, that should be a good one.
  3. Works for me 🤪. But, I also wonder if they really are going to reveal most of it during Adepticon if it doesn’t get buried among all the other apparently exciting news we’ll get there, but l assume they know what they are doing. Even if it doesn’t work for everyone. I’d be super happy though if we’d get something really new (models, mechanics etc.) on Monday. It’s has been a veeery slow dribble after the initial reveal as you say. Hopefully they agree.
  4. Yup, and then only one more lowdown (if we even get that) before Adepticon, which would be just two days later. We almost made it. Really wonder what they show us on Monday. I’d really love to get some info on what their magic looks like, but doubt that’s what we get.
  5. @JackStreicher @Grimrock GW calls him Mage God from time to time (for example in his reveal piece on WC). He is not a god of Light Magic, but of Enlightenment. Now that is a bit different from a God of Magic, but he was also already one of the best mages while he was alive. Teclis was always about magic, they also made him the most powerful magic model in the rules in the past. Around 7th edition maybe. In the Stormcast Eternals BT, they also gave us a direct comparison of Sigmar, Teclis and Nagash: .... “for Sigmar was a warrior at heart, not a supreme sorcerer like his distant ally Teclis, or a master of spirits like his rival god Nagash.” (page 10 for the context). Teclis also managed to lessen the effect of the Necroquake in Hysh. And Hysh is associated with magical power as Michu says (not only light magic). They mention that too. In Warhammer Fantasy Light Magic was also the most difficult to master among the 8 winds (in the fluff, not mechanically). They brought that over somewhat with Hysh’s Realmstone only becoming available for magicians to use after Teclis thought them how to. Before it could not be harvested like all the others. That said, “most powerful” can mean all kind of things, and even Teclis fanboys like myself probably won’t care if he can’t cast as many spells as Nagash. He should be a great manipulator of magic, that could mean something like better at dispelling, or as he is often about empowering others, maybe all magic users in his army perform better when he is on the table, or something with endless spells like with the Slann. Many ways to make him “the best” without taking away Nagash spell battery crown. I just hope they do something interesting with him.
  6. @GrimDork Yes, it's likely that it refers to that. They are called holy "eidolons" which are spirits in the ancient Greek contexts, which fits well with the Spirit of Hysh. Doesn't mean there couldn't be winged aelves also, but this one would point more to winged spirits (which make sense as we have "wind" spirits among those for example), than to winged aelves. Edit: I doubt that will happen, but eidolon seem to be mostly human-like (aelves in this context) spirits, imagine there would be something like Eltharion in his new form, but with added wings.... . I think more likely are spirits similar to Celennar though.
  7. From they way they've promoted the Lumineth so far, I don't think we'll see winged aelves. The whole introduction was a long the lines - this is for people who want to see updated High Elves, not pirate elves, or half-monster elves like the snake girls and tree guys. I also think, the whole "angel" theme is already occupied by the Stormcast. In addition, as many mentioned "angelic creature" doesn't have to mean "winged creature". That said, it's likely one of the most, if not the most common association. If there are several mentions of angelic creatures in Hysh throughout several products, there might be one winged aelf unit coming. As michu said above it could be that angelic creatures was pointing to the Hysh spirits, but that paragraph in the DOK BT talks about elf souls and from what GW has released so far, it doesn't sound like the Hysh spirits were created from elf souls. I guess, we have to wait and see 😅
  8. I didn’t think of endless spells, good point. @Turin Turambar That was what I thought too, if they’d do that. Similar to how the Idoneth are with their mounts/monster. Good point about the Sphinx, that would make a lot of sense. So does the endless spell ides though.
  9. I think the Lumineth at the start will be quite powerful, not only because new armies often are, or because of the HE back in the day, but also because GW likely speculates that there will be a not too small number of people coming back (like myself) or joining totally new because of them. And it would be not the best thing, if they'd start with an underpowered faction into the game. So it's more likely that they'll end up being too strong at first than too weak. If they don't have a least one sub faction which is among the best magic factions in the game, I'd be seriously pissed. Doesn't have to be pure damage output, but something they do (either control the phase well, have some interesting mechanics, dispelling above average etc.). Which brings me to something else, I've been reading through the old Pointy Aelves thread (yeah, I know, but I need my daily Lumineth fix), and some people where saying back then that a) the range of the Lumineth would be large, and b) there were whisperings about elementals/spirits. As we have already seen the Spirit of Hysh, which sounds like the spirit CEO, what do you think, is it possible we see actually 4 types spirits/elementals (maybe two dual kits), and 4 corresponding mages (also dual kits)? Or maybe together (always a mage with a spirit/elemental)? Zenith - some kind of phoenix spirit or fire elemental? Mountain - maybe a great cat, bear spirit or earth elemental? Wind - eagle, hawk spirt or air elemental ? River - Lord Kroak? A salmon? An alligator? Some kind of nymph (need some female stuff too for aelves)? A man-face bull (there was Greek river god who looked like that)? Or water elemental? Or would that be just way too many models anyway?
  10. Welcome from another newcomer! Nice to see other people drawn in by the Lumineth (and Idoneth). There are quite a few of us now trying to shorten the time until release by speculating in the Lumineth Realmlords thread in the Order section.
  11. From the Age of Soulbound Discord Channel. Emmet is there quite often, and provides some information.
  12. Yup, Bataar will be at least somewhat covered. The producer Emmet Byrne mentioned that: The Corebook has some info on the major cities: Hammerhal, Hallowheart, Anvilgard, Tempest's Eye, Lumnos, Stell Spike, Bataar, Edassa and Anvalor, or "The Floating City of Bataar" to be more precise. The Cities of Flame supplement, which comes along with the GM screen, has adventures set in Hammerhal, Brightspear, Anvilgard, Hallowheart, and Tempest's Eye (5 adventures per city, 25 altogether). The booklet is 32 pages Some more info: The plan for a campaign (200+0 pages, the focus is on Order, but the might make a book for the other Grand Alliances, the Lumineth won't be covered in the Corebook, but they'll try to put out something for them "fairly soon" afterwards.
  13. Definitely, a romance short story about Tyrion and Alarielle! Someone close to GW (as in a friend of a friend who knows of someone who lives somewhat in the vicinity of a Warhammer Store) told me that. I guess it will be either the archers (Sentinels) or Eltharion. They've already written a lot about Teclis. Although they could look into the Spirit of Hysh. What I hope for is that we get either a look into one of the more outlandish new models, or our first look into the mechanics. Mechanics would be a great way to get us talking about at least a week I think. And then we're almost there, and I might be able to live normally again. And then there would be my personal favorite: A close look into the mages and their mechanics. (which has about 0.1% (the optimist in me) of happening).
  14. There was a little hint on how they see Teclis in the WC article which introduced him a few weeks back: The Enlightenment Engines were a pretty big deal in the Time of Myth, contributing much to the flourishing of the kingdoms during that time. So he was pretty good disposed against both aelves and humans at that time. I guess - because they wrote this and pose the question at all, that there is some quarrel between them now. Or maybe now Sigi helps them with his boys in Hysh and all is fine. Problem between the Idoneth and Lumineth might come more from the other side. Must be not great for them to see the Lumineth around.
  15. Very good point. I'm on the Community page every day, and didn't know anything about the short stories, clicked on the event link at first which led me to the store finder page, which in order let me think huh? and giving up on the whole thing.
  16. I think the highlighted part exactly what GW is aiming for. And most of us nostalgics will get over it : ). The hammer unit seems to look pretty cool. And you made a very good point, if someone can make Hammers elegant, it's elves damnit! : ) I'm just happy that this conversation has brought us through another few days. Need my my next Lumineth fix soon.
  17. What has that to do with anything? : ) Yes, exactly. I think they were really popular, also in the Warhammer Online game, they just sadly messed them up in TW. But from my impression, a lot of people really liked them. So hopefully we see a great axe unit too. @Mr2spyderguy Personally I'm agnostic to hammers. Generally I'm much more in the nostalgia corner (so I want to see new Swordmasters and White Lions), but I think they probably want to have a mixture of nostalgia units and some units where people who weren't interested in the High Elves before just think "that's cool". Just as you say yourself to attract AOS players. Also from a creative point of view, it's probably not fun to only design re-makes. Or maybe they just thought this is cool. As we have some units who bond with mountain spirits, I could see them using such a weapon. Might make sense. Even if it's not for everyone. We all have our best case Lumineth in mind. That's why often it's the best time before the full reveal because the army still can be perfect for everyone. For me it's all about the magic. I'd be somewhat sad if they don't have many caster options, have great new Endless spells, and at least a magic focused army bonus option like COS.
  18. Yeah, I think most of us feel like that. Especially with them emphasising how much everything is based on the Teclis' nostalgia for the former High elf culture. They could maybe try to say that the aetherqartzed Lumineth are so graceful that they even make hammers an elegant weapon. But then the armour also doesn't look very graceful. So maybe the development process went like this: Teclis: Sooo, let's see .... we have graceful horses with the light of speed, long, elegant spears, and graceful helmets. Next we need some sophisticated greatsw.... Tyrion: HAMMERS!!!! You promised me that I can design one of our units. In a way it's good that they also try some new stuff. I'm sure we get at least some great swords. It would be really strange if Teclis wouldn't try to re-design the Swordmasters. I also wonder if we don't see great axes. I think the White Lions were a really popular unit.
  19. Archer definitely - they were mentioned in the spearmen lowdown. Auralan Sentinels. But yeah - let’s hope we get something new in the next one.
  20. What I originally saw the picture very similar to what @willing showed above. Here, is it one more time. It's very blurry of course, and there is a lot of stuff going on the background. Why I thought it could be a hammer besides the blurry picture is that, it looks like he holds a weapon with a long staff with both hands, and there is something heavy looking on top of it. It's not a sword or spear. In addition the armour style also looks very heavy and also similar to one of the hammer pictures we saw in the rumour machine (a little bit like chipped stone or something). The heavy armour, the way the weapon is held, and the motion - he is putting all his weight into a swing, in combination with the hammer like ending on top of it and the previous two hammer rumour pictures, made it look like a hammer a hammer to me. Could turn out to be something different in the end of course, let''s see.
  21. Oh yeah that would be great. One of my friends would be also supper happy to split the box. I didn't know the Battletomes for the Lumineth have been already shipped, I just saw the dice. Good to hear.
  22. Yeah man, some people right? (cough, speedily re-writes several older posts to align them with current events 🥴). I was firmly in the "that's not a hammer!" camp. I really didn't think they'd do that. That said, I'm happy because of several things: - I like the look of this hammer unit from what we have seen so far. - I doesn't look like we get (m)any aelf/monster hybrids a la Sylvaneth and Daughters, which I like. I'm not a fan of those. - That unit has AOS all over it, which is good. We get the basic units which look mostly just like nicely done updated High Elves for nostalgics like me, and then some more fantastical stuff to spice things up. Really looking forward to what they do with the other elite units.
  23. @JackStreicher Could be. In the background there is something that could be a war machine, or even an earth elemental. It's really hard to tell though. I was more thinking that this might mean we get one elite unit for every of the 4 elementals. This being the mountain one (because of the earthen look, and the heavy armour), and one more for the other three. Maybe two dual kits? There must be at least one which looks a bit more graceful. After all Teclis is involved. Anyway, I love that they really gave the aelves a hammer unit. Really cool. Take that Duardin! (You could also say that the elves finally saw the light and copied dwarf weap.... Thud!)
  24. I think so yes, probably dragons for Malerion’s faction. But then, until yesterday I thought Tyrion will fly in on a dragon. So who knows. But definitely looks more like the Lumineth getting some kind of Phoenix.
  25. So, looking at the intro picture of the Lumineth Dawnriders, the background is interesting. What's up with this guy here? Looks like he has some very heavy armour and fights with a heavy two-handed weapon. Doesn't that look a bit like the hammer we saw a few weeks ago in one of the rumours? The armour also shares that broker earthen style with the hammer picture. So some kind of mountain elite warrior with a two-handed hammer? On the other side of the rider is what looks like a spearman we have seen with no "broken" armour. So the Danwrider update might have been even more interesting : ) l
