  1. Insane Ghoul with an Intestinal Wig: Raaagh!! Warhammer Fans: Hope we get to see something special today! Personally I hope we get something more, but I am happy enough with this reveal.
  2. Why settle for one or the other, when there is the precedent for both? Give us a little diorama and a chance to give them either a shared or separate bases. I know I'd buy it and run it as a Chaos Lord for my Slaves to Darkness and then also Gotrek to help out my Stormcast.
  3. I thought I saw all the leaks these look amazing! I have been thinking of selling off my chaos knights and making a smalle demon army (Realized I already have 1000 points of demons from my Slaves to Darkness army). Now I am convinced to make a FEC army for AOS that I can proxy into 40k as Plaguebearers. They will be survivors of the winter, the lost souls that my Chaos and Stormcast fight for desptite being long lost to madness and hunger.
  4. The sculpt is amazing, I am so used to the army showcasing such chivalary through their Knights and Men at Arms. So to release such a haughty noble in his finery indicates that they are willing to showcase more than just the noble bright side of the faction that had become a tad monotonous. However, I still hope this does not indicate the new direction of the line as I know many people are fans of proper the knightly orders that make up the Courts. Still I personally would love to have this pompous lord commanding my troops. Lore aside this is an amazing piece and the Ruff and Skin draped on it have me so excited to see how they will continue to experiment with representing the delusions on the new sculpts. The best death army is getting the sculpts to finally match their lore and I am excited.
  5. I think that for me I am a Hobbyist first, a collector second, and a casual/narrative player third. But this is more of a circumstantial thing as collecting is a byproduct of hobbying, my anxiety often makes going out to play a little challenging. I also am not the greatest hobbyist and think of the three side as interconnected. As for systems I picked AOS first as despite perfering Warcry I always find it hard to find someone to play with.
  6. Seeing the old art brought me back, I really can't afford another warhammer project for a while... but getting some beastmen or bretonnians... does sound tempting.
  7. I admit I like when the boxes have a broader theme to them; like how The Ork set focuses on a specific subfaction. This has nothing to do with the Meta, but rather I like the idea of someone maybe being interested in an aspect of an army finding a good starting point for their collection. The Space Marine Battleforces last year were a good example of what I would like to see. I also think it would have been nice for the Eternus box to have had Chaos Legionnaires and Chaotic Beasts to have tied it more to Be'Lakor and the Eightpoints. Or the Vengorian court to have traded Death Rattle Skeletons for Vargheists to keep with the bestial vampire theme. I do think that this applies more for specific factions that have wider model ranges. It might be hard to make a specific battleforce for Flesh Eater Courts or Fyreslayers. For example I would love to get a Harlequin battleforce as they are the Eldar Subfaction I would be interested in.
  8. I think they are a great starting point for most of these armies, but I am personally going to sit out this round. Which seems to hold for the 40k offerings as well as Valrak's rumours appear to be holding true. The seraphon set is the strongest set for me personally, but I would have liked it a little more had it featured Kroak.
  9. As the ol' saying goes Eat the Lord-Magnates I am really looking forward to getting Ionus Cryptborn to lead my Stormcast. I want a unit of Dracoth Guard as I really like their models and I have Vandus. Getting a unit of ground and sky cavalry would really fill out my Stormcast.
  10. Ah thank you, I must have just mixed up the Slann for Kroak as so many boxes lately have emphasized named characters. Still an interesting box. Still hopeful that the Tomking toad makes it into the box. I am a little sad that I have no need for more Chaos Knights or Chaos Warriors. Not battleforce for me this year... which is good cause I have a backlog to get to and a new Stormcast dragon piquing my interests.
  11. Wasn't there a mention of Kroak in the Seraphon box, or was that just speculation here?
  12. I am eagerly anticipating 4th edition, I have loved the era of beasts but I am more excited to see what some sneaky rats are doing across the realms, and getting a bit more insight on Ulgu and Slaanesh's continuing machinations. Still hope that Morghur gets his tendrils and claws out by the end of this current narrative and fights the Orruks and Stormcast. I have loved 10th edition 40k despite its balance issues it is more fun for me on a pick up and narrative level. Narratively, I am most excited to see Chamon after Be'Lakor's breaking of the gates and the Duardin response to Chaos and Demonic forces. Mgiht be a great setting for introducing some followers of Hashut. But even if we focus solely on Ulgu, lets give Kharadron and Fyreslayers that Lumineth, and Sylvaneth attention! Kind of love the idea of Grombrindal or Grungni getting a cool heroic model next edition that will contrast against Malerion's shadowy form.
  13. I will probably feel the same if I ever actually run it, I am childish when it comes to rules and if the concept is there it will take me a while before I realize how it is poorly executed.
  14. It is funny that you saw this in competitive terms whereas I was like awesome Sarlacc pit causing Earthquakes is so fun.
  15. I am now wondering if we get Chaos Votann what will the ironkin look like? Then I thought how mad would people be if Chaos Votann got released before Chorfs.
  16. Not sure if this appropriate to ask here, but I got the Slaves to Darkness army box in a trade but it came without building instructions. Is there a place online that I can find the building instructions for Ogroids, Demon Prince and Chosen? I am really excited as this really fleshes out my collection but puts my army at 4000+ points... so hopefully we get an apocalypse style game for AOS.
  17. Yeah lots of stuff I have had to skip for price reasons. I am hoping to get the Cryptborn’s Stormwing box as the slight discount is likely the only way I will get him and a stormdrake guard set. 😰 Inflation + expenses = less money for hobby.
  18. This is cooler than the 40k and kill team reveals from Warhammer Day.
  19. It could be, although Kragnos is tied very closely to the Kruelboyz narratively as they use his image in their iconography. So it would likely be something like that, which would feel like a change from the perception of what we expect from that character. Now I am hoping for a female rat in traditional chaos armour.
  20. I think that you are right about Skaven as Illuminor Szeras proceeded Necrons, Kragnos proceeded Kruelboyz, and the Parasite of Mortrex proceeded Tyranids. Now we just need Cluny the Scourge to proceed Skaven.
  21. Don't forget Slambo's hunt for the Snipe, Karios Fateweaver promised a great boon if he catches it. We all know how trust worthy two headed bird demons can be. Also explaining why the best character has been noticeably absent in the narrative.
  22. In all fairness space marines chaplains look like they would work better as monastic paladins in a fantasy setting. On space marines news I finally traded my space marines and got Be'lakor and the Slaves to Darkness army box alongside some other chaos goodies. I also found those space marines a good home, as I was likely going to kit bash them into Chaos space marines.
  23. Loved the preview but still had hoped for more new units for AOS. I still think the fantasy side of GW's IPs had the better reveal overall. I am getting both more excited and more frustrated with each piece of Old World news which seems on brand and AOS continues to have the best sculpts of any minis. 40k: Stormlord, a lovely model and as a new Necron player I am happy a cool character is getting a neat model, but I am fine skipping it as I have enough lords. The rules previewed for the new book seem pretty fun. Admech, what a silly and pointless looking model… which is so perfect for the utter bizarre technology implemented by the Admech. Love this weirdo and think it will look great peaking over troops and scenery. AOS: Stormcast: Ionus Cryptborn, holy hell that is sweet! I might go for this box, if I ever see it! I can’t afford the big dragons and so this might become the dragon for my Stormcast. I was planning on holding off on SCE until the next edition but this set is too good. It would make for a good boss for any tabletop rpg. Was not expecting Stormcast to win the day with a new reveal. Sylvaneth: Belthanos, a cool model and great to get a Kurnoth hero but I am a touch sad that it isn’t Kurnoth himself and that it is just a single hero. Still pretty cool but was hoping for some more units. Still can’t wait to see different schemes on the bug. Kill Team: Striking Scorpions: I feel like if these were painted as the typical Eldar Warrior I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. Still nice Sculpts overall and I like the poses. Scouts: I think they look okay, the less armour does make them stand out compared to the rest. Terrain: Really like it and it seems like it will lead to fun dynamic play after a year of abandoned derelict spaceships. Might even be useable for AOS as they are mostly just platforms with a few sci-fi gribblies. Old World: 2024!!! Okay I am all in on the nostalgia here what great sculpts and I have always had a soft spot for Bretonnia. I am not a fan of Resin so it was nerve wracking listening to each reveal. Pegasus - Fantastic love the different builds and jokes about leaks. Knights of the Realm - Fun but who wants a knight on foot when you can have them on a winged pony! But in all honesty the sculpts are amazing and I love that they essentially acknowledged that they can be used to help upgrade the classic mounted kit. Returning Kits: Still look nice but will seem dated next to the new sculpts. Still love the Men-At-Arms sculpt they were always my favourite baseline human infantry in fantasy. Resin kits: All my favourite Bretonnian kits seem to be leaning towards the resin side unfortunately. The Handmadien is great and regal I imagine her popping up in Living Cities armies. Overall: Loved the reveals and I am really anticipating what is next for AOS as we move towards 4th edition.
  24. I want the Avatar of Grimnir to be a large and epic fiery spirit that contains his might, but having his personality and essence living on through Gotrek creating a schism between the Fyreslayer society. The Avatar resembling his appearance in this amazing work but at a more modest but still impressive scale. The ultra orthodox naked Duardin, and the untraditional Dwarves rocking blue jeans.
