  1. Is this based on a certain mechanic you have discovered, or knowledge of meta trends, or is this based on info leaked from the GHB?
  2. That would be cool, I could see them being a defensive answer to Melusai.
  3. I feel that what I want as an Idoneth Player is an Ogre/Troll sized unit. I also feel like the Hydra/Kharibdyss not being part of DOK is a slap in the face!
  4. @Skreech Verminking The Skaven would be in the Chaos narrative, overlooked until the final moments. In the end Nagash will realize that while he was focused on taking the Eight Points the Skaven have completely overrun Shyish.
  5. I hope that there is a war in the realm of heaven with Gordrak's attack and that they continue to develop Nagash attacking the Eightpoints. I think this keeps all of the alliances narratively engaged in a major conflict. But I would hope that Destruction gets to take central stage as the big threat this time around. I also want Slaanesh to be freed and the addition of Malerion. I have argued (unconvincingly) that I want these two things could coincide with Malerion being corrupted and Slaaneshi mortals to be Malerion's Aelves.
  6. On the bright side it showcases that there is a demand for Sons and that hints at them getting continued support by GW. I know I am interested in them but they are probably going to fall just outside of my budget. 😅
  7. Is it sad that I am only interested in Grotbag's if they dress like traditional pirates?
  8. @Overread is there any warcry warbands that you would personally like to see added to any armies?
  9. @HollowHills I feel that you are correct on both levels, I think it might be a Warcry/Underworld release of a Embailor with some mid-sized monster in tow.
  10. They will release a new Xenos army after they release every Space Marine Primarch and all of the Chaos Factions... and then the Xenos army will be sidelined by the lost legion of mauve marines!!
  11. I am very fond of Necrons which are being updated and I am interested in Chaos (as I can reuse some of my Slaves To Darkness models in a Chaos Space Marine army). I do not really understand why GW seems so reluctant to expand on Xenos armies or develop further new Xenos factions. As you mentioned there is limitless potential but three flavours of Space-Elves, Post Apocalyptic-Orcs and Robot Skeletons are sadly pretty uninspired. But overall, I am just not a big fan of the aesthetic of Space Marines and they dominate the line in such an overbearing manner. I am interested in getting the new 40k box for the necrons and maybe running Space Marines as Imperium and proxied-Chaos. My friends are also all pressuring me to try it out. But overall, I am more interested in the creative armies presented in AOS. I might instead just purchase the AOS Starter set and help my cousin expand his Legions of Nagash and start a new army of angelic lightening paladins. As divisive as Stormcast may be, they are more interesting to me than knockoff Imperial Stormtroopers. However negativity does not suit me, so instead I will talk rumours. Does anyone know if any of GW staff was able to work from home on design or rules development? I know that model production was delayed but I am not sure how much of GW staff was laid off for that time?
  12. I feel that the lack of new Human models is an indicator of the amount of work being put into whatever their forthcoming models will be. If I had to guess it would be a Devouted of Sigmar army. I feel that the legacy models from Empire in Cities of Sigmar will have to wait some time before getting a proper update but Warcry and Underworlds will bring them small incremental updates until that day. I mean how old are some of the Imperial Guard minis in 40K? As a purely hypothetical army, I think it would be cool if they did an army of human Witches for Destruction.
  13. From the brief time that I have returned to this hobby, I have noticed that when a new army is released it is often hard to predict and understand how to play around it. Often this results in early adopters making builds that capitalize on that confusion and they will frequently seem overpowered. But after a while either people learn to play around it, or the army gets a slight adjustment in the next rules update. So while I personally think that Lumineth seem very strong, I also doubt I will come across any of its overly competitive builds and will learn to play against the Lumineth opponents in my own small group of friends. 😁 I have also noticed the more complex an army's rules the worse this reaction seems to be. I will admit playing against certain armies can feel somewhat overwhelming at times (Ossiarch and Tzeentch come to mind) and Lumineth seem like they will follow that trend... for better or worse. 😧
  14. I can't remember the exact term, but they are not referring to it as a Starter set. As it lacks certain additions that make it more beginner friendly such as dice and painting guides. Essentially the less valuable components.
  15. I think an important question is do we want a new starter set or a 'collector set' like 40k is getting? I am honestly up for either but think starter set works best considering that AOS is still a newer game system. I could also see instead of CoS or Stormcast a new set being released featuring Devouted of Sigmar (with a Stormcast unit added for good measure). But I still imagine Stormcast will make the cut above anything else.
  16. I love the new box set it might convince me to start 40k. Necrons have always been my jam and despite not liking Space Marines, I am thinking I might make a Dark/Fallen Angel army and use them as Space Marines or Chaos depending on my mood (if that is at all possible). It really makes me wonder what our next box will be. Good money seems to be on Orruks vs Stormcast.
  17. Yeah, I think they are waiting to release Lumineth and then we will get a ton of articles for them and teases for Sons.
  18. This is such a good point, everyone I have introduced to the hobby looks at each faction with the same excitement and interest that we do when a new one releases. The only disappointment I see comes in the form of realizing that certain armies that pique their interest cannot always ally.
  19. To add to @Overread's point even if things get released it does not always mean it will be a fully fledged army. For example: Grotbag Scuttlers may get a full release, they may get a unit in Underworlds or Warcry, they may get a subfaction in a future update for Gloomspite Gitz, or they might be part of a new army with classic Gitmob grots. There is also a chance that they will get a few rules in an issue of White Dwarf and cool conversion lesson on Warhammer community. Speculation is a really fun part of the hobby but it is not reliable.
  20. Welcome @ReyD1 That is about all we currently know and none of it is confirmed in the slightest.
  21. I think that all the Aelves seem to be set up in a manner that can be easily consolidated back into the the traditional High, Dark, Wood divisions. Idoneth and Lumineth are both made from Teclis and fit the role of High Elves, Daughters of Khaine and Malerion's Aelves are pretty much just an updated take on Dark Elves and then Sylvaneth and Kurnothi round off things as the new Wood Elves. I don't think that they will necessarily go in this direction... but I also think that it is set up so that if either side fail they can be absorbed into the more popular side as a subfaction.
  22. I would be so unbelievably happy if that were to happen. Is there any precedence for this with 40K Knights? I know there was Forgebane but Armigers are a cheaper kit than any of the larger Knights.
  23. I feel as though with Warcry opening up to non-chaos warbands, my immediate thought for all rumour engines is now warcry. Owl - Kurnothi Warband Crab claw - Idoneth Warband 40k Bolt Rifle - Space Marine Warcry Warband
  24. Oh man, the new Necrons look soo good. I really don't know if I can afford a new army post pandemic and with a price hike but I have always had a soft spot for Necrons. Space Marines continue to do literally nothing for me and giving them a chainsaw swords does not change that. I am hoping that the emphasis on Sisters of Battle means the starter set will be Necrons vs Sisters of Battle. It would also give them a chance to reuse the easy to build sister molds that they have lying around. I know it wont happen but I can dream. Is the amount of time between 40k editions a good indicator of how long to suspect a new edition for AOS?
  25. I think that the price increase for an already pricey hobby is very much limiting what I will purchase. I was thinking of starting a 40k army, but now I think that I will stick with my small Slaves to Darkness and Idoneth armies. I can say that with more decent pricing I would be more armies deep into the hobby and spend more money on GW's products.
