Never take a Stardrake without the Amulet. A ward save on that bad boy is just amazing.

I see what you're saying, but I think a bodyguard shrug off is different from a normal ward save.

This is correct. Bodyguard ability is NOT a ward and is never referenced as such in any rules. Yndrasta only checks to see if she passes them to bodyguards. If not, she gets her ward. That's ONE ward ability. Any wounds that DO go to bodyguards go through their special ability, which is not a ward, and even if it was, it would still work with Yndrasta because each unit is allowed ONE ward, and bodyguards haven't used one yet.

I hear ya. Hopefully this changes with his new warscroll. They did change his name, too, so hopefully it's a nice buff.

I lost the VERY CLOSE game 19-18 vp, but I managed to kill every single monster and left him with one model. It was a blast. If I had made a single charge or if my opponent had failed a couple of saves, I would have pulled off the victory. Granted, none of this is optimized, but I was very impressed with Yndrasta, the Praetors, and the Lord Imperitant. The 10 block of Judicators also put in some serious work. They are fantastic battleline. I think once our book drops, SCE is going to be amazing. The new models by themselves almost push us up to competitive levels.

What does everyone think of Despoilers these days? Especially running them with Belakor?

I think Yndrasta is best on the field, in the middle of your army, with Praetors on her flank, and something tanky in front of her. This gives her maximum survivability, and lets you counter charge something with her flying. Save the Scions ability for Paladins and Dracoths/Dracolines. Of course I haven't played with her yet, but that's my initial ideas after watching some early battle reports.

With the new tome, Sequitors will be unconditional battleline. Just fyi.

Because it's literally the most greedy "rule" imaginable. What's next, "did you get that army on eBay?? Disqualified!!" Thankfully TOs and players can just ignore this rubbish.

I don't think it's our abilities. I think you were right the second time and they just don't play Nighthaunt, like, at all. Or maybe we're getting a new tome soonish and they couldn't be bothered to fix anything until then. It's a real shame though, because NH is one of the most gorgeous model ranges in the game.

I think the 5+ ward is really good, because that works against mortal wounds, whereas re-rolling saves does not.

I haven't had the chance to view all the FAQs. Did any other Mortarchs get this ability? Or was it just the God characters?

Stupid nonsensical garbage. I'm not buying/painting 14 different Stormcast armies just so I can swap stormhosts LOL Anybody who tries to enforce this nonsense is going to get laughed at and nobody should participate in their tournaments. Nothing but sheer greed.

Yeah I'm gonna have to shelve my NH until they get a new tome. The current rules just don't work with what we want to be doing, and we don't get to benefit from a lot of the new fun stuff. It's ok for me though, because the new Stormcast tome is coming next month.

You nailed the biggest problem with Stormcast for the last 3 years. They were pointed for a game that no longer exists. We pay a premium for "elite" models that evaporate to everything good, because they all spew mortal wounds like it's Christmas, and because we bring 1/2 or less of the models of other armies, we struggle to claim and keep objectives. I've been saying they should be AoS Custodes for awhile now. A faction wide ward ability would go a very long way for us. I'm hopeful that GW has heard our cries and given us an update worthy of the immortal demigods of Sigmar.
