  1. Truth being told, I've sent an email to GW (not to much disgruntled) regarding this change :(

    I believe that change was needed, rally/heal in every phase is too much - but they could change it, not kill it to the point that people won't find model usable.

    They could have made a rule that you could try to return models in battleshock phase, all killed throughout the current turn. Or maybe something akin to Black coach or Auric Flamekeeper with D6 counter.

    Beyond that I'm going to pick up a Liege Kavalos, a few Mortisans, and possibly a Crawler?

    Try to find Mortisan Tithe Echelon Ossiarch Bonereapers box, there should be some on eBay.

    I think ElementGames website has a nice package, 1x Liege hero and 3x Deathriders

    Low model count, but the carrion can turn off enemy hordes when it comes to scoring objectives. The Immortis and Stalkers both have battle tactics associated with them, and the whole army minus the Boneshaper (who is bodyguarded to heck by the Immortis) takes -1 damage.

    I was thinking of similar lineup with some Morghast harbingers for 2k pts list. Given my recent discovery that Soulmason is a loremaster, I would include him as well for versatility.

    Katakros would be a great swap instead of Boneshaper

    Also worried about low body count...

    P.S. people have mixed feelings Morghast, mostly due to lower HP, but Harbingers can be used to strike shooters (unleash hell wont work against Morghast)

    P.P.S. you can heal and ress a Morghast, yes? I don't know if its intentional, books is talking mostly about Immortis and Necrostalkers when it comes to healing...

    edit2: checked leaked scrolls and saw that lore section doesnt have written about Nagash/Arkhan knowing all lore - now it is written on individual scrolls

  6. I'm afraid that we might get day 0 faq/nerf since a lot of our abilities are some pretty great debuffs: -WS, -charge, -deploy, stopping units from receiving commands

    Potentially we can go with ease to -2 WS? Also, does -charge stacks too? That could be -6 on charge, no sweat :)

  8. Gotta say, I enjoyed the Warhammer weekly and kinda agreed with 90% of the stuff there.
    - Lady O could've gotten a command ability (like other Mortarchs) for the price we are paying for her and calling her a warmaster.
    - Black coach certainly needs a run/charge or pts cost reduction
    - Kurdoss seems unfinished... Given the small fluff lore on picture and empty space on warscroll...
    - Scriptor needs a change in some way.
    - Touching all our models 3 times per turn, minimum...
     
    But overall, these are refreshing change - a unique battletome; units with "weak" stats with awesome allegiance abilities.
    Someone said that bringing NHs as allies is really bad, but you lose Ethereal status and can use defensive modifiers now 😂

    I run a similar list with Olynder in Emerlad Host. A few things:

    First, I’ll second that Bladegheists are better in 10s than 20s.

    I always tried running small groups of Hexwraiths so Olynder’s command ability could work on multiple units but in gaming have found that the unit of 5 gets deleted too quickly to be effective bodyguards. A unit of 10 serves me a lot better for that purpose, even with it being inefficient for attacking. 
     

    Fianlly, I think you need another hammer unit. 
     

    Luckily, just going 10 and 5 Hexes and 10 and 10 Blades should do the trick.

     

    Good point for hexes, I thought 3 of them to spread out LO dmg "evenly" but they will be wiped out by direct attacks.

    Edit: as for hammer units: decent, strong, and "cheaper" combo is SH and ST, but they will be slower

    Why do you take cogs here? +1 to charge is' so good, +1 cast for only two casters is too pricey.

    Why dont you reinforce rasps into 30 men?

     

    Good points! 2x10 BR would be better, more charge chances.
    Cogs were taken as a filler, 50pts left.

    20 rasps is a bit small size, for more rasps something additionally needs to go

    Back to drawing board :)

    So - one hero cannot be commander and sub-commander together, you need to decide which one.

  13. Got a question regarding new battalions:
    Given that they need a specific unit in them (can't be in two places at the same time), is it possible that with Reikenor's procession we are able to pick both Warlord and Command entourage (or any other that needs a general)?

  14. If I may bother with another question regarding this particular battle/plan of mine - I am planning to hold the point and fight/heal rasps as much as I can.

    I expect a lot of HGB units
    Current list is:
    KoSES, GoS, DBH, LO

    40x rasps, 3x SH
    Was thinking to squeeze Arkhan somehow as an ally for healing boost and Years spell and great command ability so I can bombard potential magmadroth hero with soul drain
    Will this hold decently for 2-3 turns?

    Also, since the scenario doesn't allow  me to leave my main point undefended - is it possible to perform charge in these circumstances?

    A line of rasps is pinned by an opponent unit - can Spirit Hosts, that are behind rasps on +3" distance charge into enemy?

  16. Hey guys, I got a question regarding Soul Cage.

    We ran into situation when Fyreslayers (Hermdar) used command ability on a squad that I used this spell

    Are effects of these abilities nullified or one of them gets a priority?

    As you said you may have trouble in some missions, that's normal, there's no list that fits all the missions perfectly. If you roll the mission where Heroes hold objectives your opponent will cry for example. However 10 Chainrasps may as well not exist, at least 20 in a single unit is already better. Think about what Battalion you wish to work around and you'll find the points.

    Concerning Spells and Artefacts, if you go Lord Executioner you pretty much are obligated to use the Sword of Judgement (Hero/Monster hunter) or the Blade of Endings (I didn't know that one) for a more polyvalent Executioner. With your second artefact the Beacon of Nagashizzar is a good option, or the Pendant of Fell Winds for additional movement. If you pick the Brooch you can't use it with the Executioner though, you can only pick one Realm. Soul Cage and Shademist are great.

    It certainly helped! I felt the same about KoS-with-horse that he is an odd one - that's why I was considering Spirit Torment. Rerolling hits of 1 is good.

    The problem with meat on the field might be solved if I lose Knight. That's 120pts plus I can sacrifice filler spell to reach 140pts. That would give me another chainrasp squad and glaivewraiths.

    There's a quote on pg54:

    Now I know many of you don’t care much about the Lord Executioner and the Executioner Horde battalion and since I don’t care much for tournements I might be all noob about this but have any of you considered arming the Lord Executioner with the Blade of Endings? Combined with the EH battalion that turns the LE into a mean fella with 3 attacks at+2 dam for each 5+ to hit or 6 to wound? Combine that with Lady Olynder’s spell and its 4+ to hit.

    Not sure about the math here but the Blade of Endings alone gives him a max damage output of 24! At rend -2.

    I am not good with this math as well, but it looked that it could be used on everything unlike SoJ on heroes/monsters.

    Based on what @Nasrod and @Undeadly advised me, I made some 1500pts list (please be forgiving to my noobism):

    EH play provided me a ton of fun (there was an older list for 1k play with EH and Lady O), so I was thinking to include it here. DG looks like a toon of fun to play. I would have to resurrection from GoS and general and most of my army has more than 1hp. GoS also gives wound roll for Spirits plus ress for Hexwraiths if they find themselves a bit far from general by running over to some units, until they retreat over some units again 😃

    For the front line battles, EH LE will be somewhat unkillable (spirit hosts, grief buff). General and GoS should give Lady O a bit of a breathing room, hoping that opponent will try to go for those first.

    My fear is that battle line is thin, might get overwhelmed. Since I don't have enough units, I would have to always engage on objectives if #units on it is in play. 10x Chainrasp guys are probably laughable to see on the field, but I intend to use them as gap filler on battle line or to stop enemy movement or to give look-out-sir for some heroes.

    Also, being indecisive about artifacts, lores, and heroes (somewhat). I believe that optimal picks are Shademist and Spectral Tether/Soul Cage; I lean toward Beacon for GoS or Aetherquarts Brooch since I intend to spam those points for my units multiple times on hero phase. But, there might be other possibilities (I am still struggling with synergies), such as blade of judgement. I used this one with EH and LE and made a quick work of friend's Dread Saurian. I also read about that EH LE with Blade of endings and grief buff is crazy.

    Regarding heroes - I thinking about Spirit Torment (additional heal/ress during battleshock phase) instead of KoSoES. Knight gives a nice command ability (though you can use only one ability per phase). Also, losing knight - I lose general with Rulser of Spirit host (which might still get taken by LE).
