  1. easy: the DAWNBRINGERS from Greywater are differentiated from the standing-army/garrison of Greywater by changing the green to black. I do wish the new models had kept that green tbh, it looks exceptional on the ranger and longbeard!
  2. Mounted Marshal for sure edit: kind of expecting the mounted version to have a Named Counterpart
  3. huh, I always figured that scheme would have grey as a main color but yellow still matches with it and is a better cloth color. the fact that those were clearly lined with cogs, while the red cloth is sort-of flames? I think you cracked it
  4. It is both; GW has confirmed new models for the 9 (starter?) factions on that list. They definitely want the old guard to buy new models and come back into the GW-pool instead of going to Conquest or KOW or even relying on STLs.
  5. but we CAN write them off if the literal head of the Total Warhammer team has said out loud that Ind/Nippon/Khuresh are absolute No's (from GW it sounds like). He even said they got lucky with GW allowing them Cathay; it only happened because of the perfect storm of 3 Kingdoms doing well enough to establish a Chinese fanbase and game 3 needing another protagonist faction.
  6. I don't think GW has ever said these are coming, and I know that the Total Warhammer lead at CA has said neither are happening. Is this an actual rumor or fan wishlisting? because there's a lot more interesting things GW could be designing than fake-Japan and fake-southeast-Asia.
  7. I think they're slightly larger than the 3x5 polaroid sized photos? Amazon is showing the "package dimensions" as 6 x 4 x 1 inches, but if that's the box they come in, then the cards might be the 3x5 photo size
  8. you go on campaign and try maintaining a presentable hairstyle
  9. feels like Marshal should be the military leader of a Dawnbringer Crusade? possibly even a Cities garrison itself?? I think a mounted version is more likely than a higher ranking officer--unless we get someone named!
  10. so with today's article we have some extra confirmation that ALL kinds of people take the Coin Malleus (and not "only criminals" like part of the voiceover for Harbingers implied) Freeguild Marshal and Relic Envoy! They also mention a command structure like how the Imperial Guard operate? Hoping that means there's fancy steampunk/magitech guns and artillery in this wave and not just the weird flintlocks already shown off.
  11. funniest part about the Seraphon preview today is that we STILL have not seen any spear saurus aside from this one promo guy?? everyone else has an actual representation of their alt builds except saurus. something feels off about that
  12. All of their management sim games have a bunch of DLC, with Jurassic Park's being the weakest. Planet Zoo DLC adds new/unique animals every pack, with their own animations and behaviors, as well as new building props. These usually coincide with free patches to major systems as well. I wouldn't be surprised if GW picked Frontier because of their solid post-launch content support.
  13. if people stop jumping on the "game's dead" bandwagon before new games (who are usually trying something new) are even released then this wouldn't really be a problem? but look what's happening: we barely know anything, we have one screenshot, and already even people here are maligning the game. because it... has colors? IDK about you, but I hate when it hurts my eyes trying to parse a game/movie/show due to desaturated colors and bad lighting. You need to be able to see all of the units distinctly and quickly in an RTS game. It needs to have proper lighting and colorations to parse all of the information. Especially if you have competitive modes! DOW1 did this slightly (proper lightning for the grimness), but the 2nd was far better about it. Frontier could easily have Thunderstrike alongside Liberators. There could easily be darker maps. The story can still be grim. Like I get it has been a while, but DOW's 3d models absolutely felt and looked like plastic! That was actually kind of the point, since it included an army painter! And we all loved the game for it. So what's different now?
  14. my apologies, i should have specified I wasn't responding directly to you. If it was one planet's ground combat warzone I could see it kind of working, but there's still the entire issue of cover and modern combat not using ranked marching or firing. It would probably be a completely different type of TW game. oof, even if it's him shrugging on a question he gets asked 40 times a week... he says something that gets cut off by laughing, but I could see it being a dodge as his team is the fantasy team (and thus not related but he knows of other projects)
  15. is it the problems of the gameplay or the setting itself? my non-Warhammer partner LOVES the gameplay, but for every voice line we laugh at there's 1 or 2 that we're silently cringing at. People can overlook bugs and jank more if they vibe with the game, and I can't imagine a realistic Imperium has mass appeal in the way that the dysfunctional Ubersreik 5 do.
  16. Total War 40k would never work... It would have to be a massive jumble of 3 different games in 1, and either way probably end up a disappointing mess. CA is struggling to get even the pseudo-earth of TWW3 up to par because of how massive Immortal Empires is. Now add the complexity air combat, or naval combat, or even tanks to that. DOW 1 tried aerial combat and it was mid enough we never saw flyers in the next 2. Would you do a Stellaris type galaxy and try to build space combat on top, like Empire at War? Or is it better to do a single planet to focus on ground combat? Now your roster is limited by that planet, like DOW. Total War games were designed for line-combat for historicals and fantasy settings--another type of game or genre is better suited for 40k (like the DOW cover system), especially when AOS already fits into the Total War design perfectly. I found out today that the vague MMO announcement from Jackalyptic is going to be 40k... so yeah. 40k absolutely doesn't need a Total War game before AOS. They're already getting the Rogue Trader CRPG (which is another perfect genre for AOS) and Space Marine 2. https://massivelyop.com/2023/05/18/jack-emmerts-netease-owned-studio-rebrands-as-jackalyptic-games-teases-warhammer-title/
  17. Sorry for the double post, but that's Kruleboyz in the background so my predictions on factions have been true so far
  18. Still lamenting the CRPG we could've gotten it's legit, from an investor meeting
  19. So this is totally going to be announced at the Skulls event right GW? Right? 😶 Pretty dang exciting news if it's AOS
  20. I don't understand why but AOS is legit the only one that does not seem to be online AT ALL...
  21. TBF AOE2 is story driven if you play the campaigns, and WC3/SC2 have stuck around because of custom games/maps + competitive skirmishes same as AOE2. I can't imagine Frontier would skip out on a campaign for us
  22. DOW2 is probably the best bet out of all 3 of them for sure, as it was a hybrid of the heroic/moba and regular RTS. I do hope for more base building than 2 required though Yeah I would be happy with six mostly-done factions like DOW2 had... If I had to pick who was showing up in the first AOS RTS: Stormcast obviously, but probably with allied units from the rest of Order (Melusai, Sylvaneth, Fyreslayers) Cities of Sigmar because they've waited this long for an AOS game and if COS isn't in it then wtf has GW been waiting for Blades of Khorne (no magic, no nonsense fighters) Archaon with Warcry warbands and some marked units a la Slaangors Kruleboyz, with some Ironjawz for heavy infantry/cav Gloomspite Gitz because how could you not Ossiarch Bonereapers are too unique not to include can't decide if Nighthaunt or Soulblight, probably Nighthaunt since they're more unique? I can see Frontier aiming for 2 factions per Grand Alliance. Seraphon, Hedonites, and Lumineth are also obvious choices with how big their ranges got. Idoneth having the magical sea with them seems too much of a hassle to code and animate to include at launch.
  23. I think they're going to do a great job at showing us the Mortal Realms aesthetically. Unfortunately we'll have to wait and see how the real-time part of RTS works and if it'll be more like DOW1/AOE2 (more 'basic' RTS) or DOW2/DOW3 ('Heroic RTS' heavy with abilities) or even the new Dune RTS (diplomacy and control mechanics on top of combat). Personally I don't think any of those 3 RTS types could fail here unless the game was crunched and is pushed out as a buggy mess. While I'd like to see some kind of diplomacy or non-combat mechanics, I will also be first in line even if this is a clone of a DOW or AOE2. I feel like with Cities revamp releasing we are FINALLY at the start of proper AOS games.
  24. It is definitely the AOS game https://www.eurogamer.net/frontiers-warhammer-age-of-sigmar-rts-pushed-back-to-second-half-of-2023 The possibly worrying news is searching "frontier developments age of sigmar" also gave me a job listing for a Producer which, judging from job duties, means the management is probably disorganized https://careers.frontier.co.uk/production/producer-warhammer-age-of-sigmar/f5f9c42e-d46f-4c7c-bf6e-33749177d8f4 (not that project disorganization is anything new for indie and AA level titles)
