  1. what felt defensive about it to you? everything I read in there made sense / confirmed suspicions (like Chaos always being intended to win) but nothing felt "defensive" in tone.
  2. ironic that they'll bend over backwards doing all kinds of stuff like this to nab new people instead of. Not making prices outrageous in general. i do like that this is an option but still!
  3. two very interesting things from this interview: 1. as a lot of us suspected, "From the moment we’d established what the Empire was and what Chaos was, we’d destined Archaon to ascend and destroy that setting." (they are also labeled Empire of Man on the factions sheet which is... Hmm) 2. TK are on the evil side because they explicitly are drawing Good/Evil lines for this time period, more like AOS is. (and tbh TK being more neutral by the end always felt like convenient faction balancing for narrative tourneys) Tomb Kings are listed among the Forces of Evil – was that always the case? Jonathan: That’s Tomb Kings down to a T. There was a period in later Warhammer Fantasy Battle where morality got a little more grey, but this isn’t the world of the End Times, or the World-that-Was. This is the World of Legends – it’s where they’re born and come to life. We’ve tried to draw a clearer divide between Good and Evil, and the armies of good are very much the protectors of order. Jonathan: It’s difficult to buy the idea that an undying empire of skeletons, ruled over by the ultimate tyrant who in his life wanted to cross every horizon and subjugate everything he discovered… wouldn’t be evil? The mortuary cults and the entire idea of undeath exist because of Settra’s vanity and refusal to die. Nagash wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for Settra’s refusal to die. The aggrandisement of self through the grand statuary and hieroglyphic writings of Nehekhara – it’s so self-centred and so selfish and tells us so much about how little the rulers of Nehekhara cared about their subjects that it cannot be anything but evil. Hoping this means AOS is keeping more of its own flavor... I'm still a bit nervous COS is going to be forced into the same Imperium-vibes instead of sticking to something new (and frankly more interesting!). I don't think we'll properly know where COS is being taken until Dawnbringers finishes and we find out the WHY of the successful campaign.
  4. instantgaming is one of the better grey market sites, but I got a bad Total Warhammer 3 key from them so YMMV. fanatical is a first party site and looks like same price https://www.fanatical.com/en/game/warhammer-age-of-sigmar-realms-of-ruin-ultimate-edition
  5. @Tonhel @MitGas for sure Stormcast should not be the only ones! cough SERAPHON cough... and wingless water dragons would be a welcome change as opposed to slightly different draconith. maybe the pachyderms are the cavalry for River Temple while the dragon is the actual spirit? hippos kill ~500 people each year and can almost keep up with speedboats https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Su7GkqwxG08 (no violence but unnervingly fast hippo) they are also very agile in the water
  6. would love to see an otter or even an eel/fish instead i know water dragons are wingless etc but after the kangaroo riders i'd love to see more mammalian spirits
  7. so... AOS getting nothing else today? This is still the US homepage
  8. Arch-Knight with two guns, I really think they're showing us Callis & Toll models
  9. i literally thought they were old models being brought back at first
  10. TBQH I cannot see Stormcast getting their lightning gheist unit in a launch box. it feels like something that would come after, maybe even in a Regiment of Renown box with a hero that acts as their Keeper/Custodian.
  11. apologies, I missed the part where these boxes were ALSO getting a corebook inside. since that is the case, I wouldn't mind having these as a second option alongside the dual launch boxes!
  12. I want a new edition rulebook included in the price, with the ability to sell off half the box as wanted. TOW launching with 2 separate army boxes plus THREE rulebooks (4 if you want both army tomes) feels like an absurd amount of money as opposed to the simplicity of a dual launch box. I do not want this at all. we're most likely tomorrow, here's hoping specialist games aren't included!!
  13. pretty disappointed there's no AOS today. hoping that means we might get shown more, or have more upcoming releases?
  14. neither of these are guaranteed though which tbf is probably a good thing so you dont have to buy every single tome to find out your own lore
  15. i'm half expecting today's RE to be replaced, no idea what a vigilor sword is doing unless it's also the sidearm of new judicators. the base unit is already a warcry-ready unit/idea. WHU already had a vigilor with the bird.
  16. Right, their "CMS portfolio" is doing fine but RoR is the last in a line of launch failures for Frontier trying to branch out. Just because RoR is their most recent launch doesn't mean it is SOLELY at fault for shares dropping. The meat of the article makes it pretty clear the studio was expecting this since late 2022... they had already done layoffs/closures before RoR's launch soured.
  17. it wasn't specifically RoR, the company's struggles started at the beginning of this year and finally came to a head because we're getting to EOY company ******. we can throw it in the terrible pile of other layoffs. The title of that article was really misleading; this would've happened with any Frontier release in the same slot as RoR.
  18. yea i'm still generally fine with it, but this quick discount feels like maybe there was an argument about the price and GW/Frontier stockholders won out? this quick to 40% very much feels like an "ok you (devs) were right, price too high"
  19. the other thing is if Total War fans were pissed about DLC prices*, they are absolutely not going to put up with GW's pricing lol. *and they were so pissed eventually CA relented to reworking how much content DLC gets
  20. I see your points but tbh I think players asking for it back *still* falls under nostalgia; because in your own words people are asking for it back because it is something they've had since childhood. that's still nostalgia, regardless of any other corporate reasonings. they are both filling a mechanical gap (rank n file game) and nostalgia gap (returning a flagship IP) by doing TOW.
  21. WELL I guess that means inquisitor junk? So... more of these like the cape and skeleton might be 40k than we thought
  22. really bad view on Skumdrekk there... i looked up the model and on the generic hero the GW site has a much better angle. not entirely convinced yet because none of the nails/spikes are even close to that obvious thunderbolt but another few REs might flip me
  23. i actually expected the Seraphon renew to go farther, but maybe we'll have to wait for more monsters. the ONLY really magitech thing they got was the laser pointer that skinks hook onto the salamanders. everything else could easily be TOW if not for the poses.
  24. Me either but it feels like it's that... or it's all 40k imperium stuff
  25. not only was Ionus missing "Thunderstrike" keyword but the new Neave warband did too lol.... https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/BMuJ6HfQcjjbbiFG.pdf they did give Ionus "Lord" as well @PJetski so we finally have an official apology for that too. Krondys and Karazai got the same attack reduction skill. also didn't see that ALL the lord-arcanum types got "Cycle of the Storm", so now you dont need the gryph charger version https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/e2PDdoMFQ70O8VGJ.pdf
