  1. I’d say Yes. Because he has the keyword bloodthirster
  2. Well it’s great to have debates about this stuff. I agree I don’t want to cheat my opponent (friends!) out of anything. It just seems like they’re focusing on “a” model not “you”. “After a model has fought for the first time” not “after you have fought for the first time” or “after the player has fought for the first time in the phase” implying multiple models can fight for a first time. Then you choose the order. But I understand your interpretation that their saying there’s only one instance of “a model in the combat phase”
  3. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/03/21/who-fights-first/ Seems like they’re saying if you have multiple things that happen at the same time you choose the order in what happens first, second, third etc. As “you have opportunity to do several things at the same time”.
  4. Good point. As I read it it just seems like they’re implying though that models have their own first time. “After a model from this battalion has fought in the combat phase for the first time”. I’m sure it will be FAQ. I seriously hope this is the intended meaning anyways haha. But your right, they absolutely could have written it differently.
  5. Multiple models in the battalion. So each model eligible from the battalion has a “first time” if your implying there is only one first time. Then you would only be able to perform one “in the beginning” or “at the start of” or “starts first” action every phase every round every game if you had multiples of each. I believe someone posted a link to when things happen “first” you decide the order of each individual “this happens first” or “at the start of” or “in the beginning of”. The person who’s turn it is also trumps the first occurrences I believe if both parties have “firsts”
  6. Agreed the judgements are hit and miss, but when they hit, they are handy. Yeah the sequitors being able to change stances at the beginning of every combat phase, buffs allowing them to re roll hits and saves, evocators being deepstriked then having shock and awe on that turn and if they get their charge off its crazy! 2 dmg normal attacks then lightning Mortal wounds on a 4+.. its alot going on with no real "skill" other than the gamble of the dice. And here we are keeping units wholly within other units just to get the buffs we need to stay alive or output wounds. it is what it is though i guess. and to be honest SC aren't even the biggest threat! Kharadorn with good rolls melt your face with ranged! your thirsters get degraded first shooting phase, goodluck after that! anything heavy hitting that charges your 30 bloodletters and hits first seriously cripples them. bloodreavers are the most useless thing ever, they are like rice paper with sharp edges. Sure they have rend and can get out decent attacks, on a 4/4 Hopefully your opponent doesnt have any hit modifiers or crazy defense rolls, oh wait he does... wooooah your 30+ hits literally did nothing! then they folded like a cheap suit. hahaha its just comical you have to laugh at it. Skullreapers and wrathmongers are a fun combo. blood warriors are MUCH better now. they can at least bounce some mortal wounds back, double attack when dying with no respite. bloodthirsters are great if they survive a couple rounds (highly recommend reapers vengeance) slaughterpriests and blood boil is an absolute must have i think. but yes your locked to your terrain piece now. bloodsecrator is Meh. battleshock immunity is a huge loss. I hear you though i want to play Khorne! I want to win battles with them, when you do its a sweet bloody victory! But it does feel like an uphill battle most games.
  7. this is exactly the kinds of lists i'm up against every time... Except they use 15 evocators and deep strike them behind me EVERY time! so a screen is needed... Just to protect priests/secrator for a turn or two.. Bloodthirster mortal wounds/rend is the only tool i feel we have. Our rend on other units just isn't there.. even if you swarm 10 sequidors with your 30 bloodletters, they just have so many friggin saves!!! Even with the odds in my favor with my Blood warrior chaff or blood letter bombs getting 15+ wounds through, half get saved, then they just hammer back! its just insane... Then your slaughterpriests and bloodsecrator are left open while your main force is taking objectives.. My bloodthirsters are literally the only hammer with rend that can do anything! Wrathmongers +1 attack to units is nice, but man! The sequitors just again have so many save rolls from their heroes. and if you kill a unit, BOOP oh look i summoned it back! haha its frustrating, but it makes you a better player tactically. But i agree with you it just feels like we have such a handycap! the one thing i will say though, the wrath axe is literally a game changer. if you can get it off, and if your blood thirster is in combat and not ready to die, and if your blood warriors are holding their own and if your bloodletters are NOT crumbling to pieces and if your bloodsecrator and slaughterpriests aren't swarmed by evocators! Hey you may stand a chance LMAO! Oh and if you go Tyrants of blood and your buddy is like hmmmmmm i'll just take my ranged units instead of my silly sequitors and deep strike you yet again with evocators in your back line and plink you off with bows and such. That's just how stormcast is... I will say though that the 4+ mortal wound lighting from evocators is just the cheesiest cheese ball thing i have ever seen.. i hope they take that down a notch. i'm fine with dealing with endless sequitors and ranged attacks and all that nonsense. but man they have so many tools in the tool box! anyways, best of luck. i have won games against these lists. But you have to WORK for it! The wrath axe debuff/MW, slaughterpriest blood boil MW is essential aswell as our Bloodthirster IR getting his carnage rolls off can turn the tables in a single round.
  8. If daemons are your thing I personally wouldn’t make more than 30 - 40 bloodletters. In the games I’ve played I fielded a 30 man unit. And never needed to pick into my extra 10 when summoning via bloodtithe. You loose units during the game and bloodletters seem to have a bullseye. In my games anyways. The old days with 2x30 bloodletter bombs aren’t really the go to damage dealer now, well I don’t think so anyways but who knows maybe painting 60 is a fun time for you but man I barely got through 40 🤪 All the bloodthirsters are definitely a must id say! Especially if you ever want your tyrants of blood funny bone to be tickled. It’s the best battalion imo from this book. Paired with reapers vengeance. It’s just fun when it synergizes in game play. Im not into cannons, or hounds, skull crushers, or interested in the bloodletter heroes. The rest of my personal choices are wrathmongers, bloodwarriors and skullreapers. Those have been my go to units from this book. Slaughterpriests are a must in my opinion get 3! bloodsecrator and stoker are great choices aswell. All that’s left is the skull altar and judgements. These are just my personal choices. Cheers and happy painting.
  9. Well exactly! He needs that +1 hit from something! So this is perfect. I just need to find a list of artefacts and the realms so my opponents don’t question it. Thanks again.
  10. Thanks for the in depth analysis. Awe man that’s unfortunate. Was he not getting his hit rolls in? That 4+ to hit unbuffed is his Achilles heal for sure. I’m assuming we’d have to killing frenzy and burn an artefact slot to bring him to 2+ To have high percent of him being useful. But with all this wholly within stuff the entire army seems to be based around. We’re limited with who goes where. I’ve got a game next week I will hopefully get in and report after!
  11. What realm is that artefact from? That’s a good idea! Where can I read about this one?
  12. That’s cool. I just presumed your buffs or whatever would adjust your abilities from the battalion like other aspects of the game. Thanks for clearing that up everyone.
  13. Alright cool. I guess it would make more sense if they put the term “unmodfied 3” from enemy unit” so it was absolutely clear on what’s what. Because we have the wholly within key words and unmodified keywords in every other aspect of the game. But not in battalions lol.
  14. alright, so no command ability, ability, spell, character abilities etc. literally nothing in the game can change, modify or effect the wording from a battalion? in any army spreading across all of Age of Sigmar. Well alright. i just find it strange that there are modifiers to literally every other part of the game but battalions are not at all able to be modified by legit abilities you choose to use.
  15. Tyrants states "After a model from this battalion has fought in the combat phase for the first time, you can pick another model from the same battalion that has not yet fought in that combat phase and is within 3" of any enemy units. That model fights immediately, before the opposing player picks a unit to fight in that combat phase. That model cannot fight again in that combat phase unless an ability or spell allows it to fight more than once." So one blood thirster from battalion fights, then the next, then the next (if eligible) AND if you have reapers vengeance yes you can attack twice since its an ability (if eligible in range of enemy unit). And to extend the reach from 3" to 6" you use your unfetted rejoice in slaughter command ability before this all goes down.. which clearly says "Until the end of the combat phase Khorne Daemon units wholly within 16" of that model are eligible to fight in that combat phase if they are within 6" instead of 3" So why can't you use this command ability in junction with your battalion ability? one ability buffs your battalion ability and then you can use more command points to use your reapers and attack again. BUT must be declared at start of combat phase.. so for this all to go off on your opponents turn is tough because i'm sure they'll catch on pretty quick. only the uninitiated wont see this coming.. And of course if your not within the 6" range at the start of your opponents combat phase.. why would you do any of this anyways? it would be pointless because your not in range... but if you are. Smash.
  16. Nope. its 6" if you've used your rejoice in slaughter command ability. it overrides the 3".. "daemon units wholly within 16" of that model are eligible to fight in that combat phase if they are 6" of an enemy unit instead of 3, and can move an extra 3" when they pile in" that's how i interpret it anyways. But im sure this will need to be FAQ to be certain.
  17. rejoice in slaughter is used at the beginning of the combat phase. So any unit your thirsters are 3-6" away from (and wholly within 16 from unfetted BT) and if they have not yet fought in that combat phase they would trigger after your initial thirster making his atttacks.
  18. great thanks! that would be crazy if the normal damage also splashed to the other units in range. yikes.
  19. Question about Bloodthirster Insensate Rage. Outrageous carnage - if the unmodifed wound roll for an attack made by this model is 6, each enemy unit within 8" of this model suffer the number of mortal wounds shown on the damage table above, in addition to any normal damage. So does that mean the normal damage also splashes to any unit within 8"? or does the normal damage hit the unit that was targeted and the mortal wounds splash to target unit and any unit in 8"? Asking for a friend
  20. ok thanks! so when you say " only way to gain additional artefacts is to include a battalion" So your saying off the bat you get one (If i chose a slaughterhost i have to take the one provided) then i add a battalion to get the second of my choice. i was under the impression you can just get two per army, or are you stating you can potentially get a third from a battalion? Sorry again im new to the game and i've done my best to read as much content as possible but its sometimes great to just get a direct answer from you more experienced players. thanks again.
  21. some questions. 1- so even on your opponents turn i can use my command ability at the "start of the combat phase" regardless if it's mine or not, correct? I'm new to the game and i got into a discussion about command abilities and i was told i could only use them on "MY" combat phase. And my argument was it says "the combat phase" so as i understand from this post i can in fact use my command abilities on my opponents turn. Taking advantage of the tyrants of blood etc to go first and attack twice if using reapers with my BT's 2 - I saw someone post a list using bloodlords and reapers of vengeance slaughterhost. Is this legal? Would you pick one ability, one command trait, one command ability, be forced to use both artefacts from the host? Your still capped at 2 arterfacts right? As i understood you could choose more than one host to use one for mortals and one for daemons, not two for daemons then pick and choose the stuff you wanted (trait, ability, Command ability, artefact). 3 - So start of opponent combat phase he has nothing to attack me with, but i cast my 6" attack modifier and i have an extra 3" pile in from unfetted, i can attack with my thirsters, but he cant attack back because he didnt have anything to attack in his combat phase? Even though its the normal combat phase and their are eligible units to attack me?
  22. Looking for clarity on summoned units and Slaughterhosts. If for example your running reapers vengeance and you summon a bloodthirster does it get the perks from your Host? or is it only models that "started" in your army that benefit from the hosts. By perks i mean the static ability and the command ability as the artifact and trait are bound to a general or starting hero from the army and lost if he/they die? Also to add to that from the host does every model eligible within the host get the command ability / ability you get from the host? or just one model? As i can't see where it says "all models in your slaughterhost are eligible to take the command ability etc from the host" just so there's no tears and anger from my opponents if i choose to go reapers and get off a bunch of attacks with multiple bloodthirsters before they attack. cheers and thanks
