  1. Sweet! The thricefold Befoulement is horrifying to face, but how did they end up within range of the altar? Did the opponent make a mistake? I find it’s kinda hard to coax someone within range of the altar to smack them with Witchbane.
  2. Magic, not the Judgements of Khorne Also, for Magore’s, I agree with @MOMUS. They’re ok. Having the Blood Warrior keyword helps a little for Goretide command, and they’re ok as a suicide unit. Magore himself is nice-ish, I did do a Killing Frenzy, Bloodstoker whip and Goretide command, launched Magore’s Fiends into an enemy ranged unit and he did decent damage. Riptooth is pretty funny tho. I’ve had riptooth tie down a ranged unit, and they overkilled him. However, I do feel a 5-man Blood Warrior team is better. Far less damage, but frankly, fits more comfortably into lists. I like them a lot. Especially because Magore’s Fiends are effectively 2 extra drops, and that’s painful. Id use them for fun, but not for competitive lists. But they are imo better than garrek’s Reavers.
  3. I think for Mortal Khorne, we have to understand win condition is very different. Mono Daemons of Khorne list seems to be a fast glass cannon list, and can lose steam when those Bloodthirsters die. Remember, I think Mortal Khorne has the advantage in terms of sheer wound count. For example: 10 Skullreapers/6 Skullcrushers is a bit more ex than a Wrath BT, yet is 30 wounds compared to a Wrath with 14. As @ledhadisplayed, Mortal Khorne plays a more attrition based game. We have huge wound and body counts, lots of attack after death (no respite, murderous to the last, mongers), and Goretide solves our mobility problem. Goretide lists focused on objective play seems powerful. The artifact is good, the trait is also good. Even so, Skullfiend seems good. It’s only weakness is that opponents MIGHT move their hero out of range (but that could be playing into your hands). Their much more damage focused than Goretide imo, with large Khorgorath blocks focused on killing everything in their path. Their command trait and artifact is extremely good for an Insensate Rage, and he goes nuts with it. as far as Battalions go, I feel Gore Pilgrims is still ok, Slaughterborn and bloodmad are imo the best. Bloodforged is ok, skulltake is however REALLY good for Skullfiend tribe, the dark feast and brass stampede are the ones i’m a bit uncertain about, I don’t really feel them. TLDR: For Mortal Khorne, if Goretide, play around objectives, and Slaughterborn or Bloodmad, while if playing skullfiend tribe, Skulltake seems best. Mortal Khorne is a slower playstyle compared to Khorne Daemons, but more resilient and better at objectives with our body count, while also able to use Blood Tithe better with many more MSUs
  4. Interesting. So it’s been tested, and after thinking a bit, it does feel Reapers of Vengeane is stronger than Bloodlords (imo), especially with Tyrants of Blood. Bloodletters feel meh, without Wrath’s command and Bloodstoker, being quite slow. And they’re 11 points a model. Skull cannons are ok, reliable thanks to Locus, Bloodcrushers are ok, though I dislike their single attack hellbaldes. 40K Bloodcrushers have literally 3 attacks per pop with the blades, and get even an extra on charge Flesh Hounds seem strongest. Cheap and fills battleline. i do like the fact that all our Bloodthirster synergize quite nicely together. It’s also nice that skarbrand also seems like a solid choice. In terms of Battalions, Blood Hunt makes sense. Every list has a lot of heroes, and a Wrath swinging his blood flail has an easier time one shotting someone with that bonus. Tyrants of Blood is obviously strong. Murderhost frankly feels meh to me, since it needs all those Daemons wholly within range of the Bloodletters Hero. Skullseeker it goes without saying, it’s honestly kinda bad. Charnel host frankly is imo bad, because it wants so many Bloodletters, and Bloodletters have imo fallen out of favor. So for Khorne daemons, it seems the tyrants of blood/blood hunt combo is strong into Reapers of vengeance . I like the low drop count, and the fact that there is no dependence on Bloodsecrator.
  5. Oh man, I’m a Gutbusters fan, and I can safely assure you they’re right now a bit annoying. They’re very luck based, and excel at straight up brawls. The Tyrants are the worst, especially with the command trait and the Great gutgouger and ghyr Strike, it’s actually almost gristlegore levels of disgusting. HOWEVER, having a Bloodthirster may not be that helpful, because he can be easily crippled/one shot by a built tyrant. And tyrants are tough enough to survive wrath flails. And I’ve seen gutbusters lists that bring 3+ Tyrants. Ogors are crazy good because for a cheap cost you’ve got a wall of meaty bois (I love ogors) the funniest thing is that gutbusters is surprisingly competitive, because tyrants and ironguts are insane hammers, the ogors are a tar pit that won’t completely smash you, but they’ve got so many attacks that the ones that get through will hurt. We also have Gnoblars that are crazy good objective grabbers, esp with tyrant command. Advice: Take out the Tyrants first. Their command ability, Bully of the first Degree and Inspiring Presence is key to keeping the army together, and their personal presence in combat makes them a pain to deal with . Then, the Butchers, they are buff bots. Ogors are extremely vulnerable to battleshock, and generally have low armor. Skull Reapers can actually do a LOT of damage to Ogor blocks. Once the heroes fall, the army will crumble soon after.
  6. It’s interesting, because all the Dryads, the Spite Revenant Sarge, the Branchwych and Branchwrajth, Alarielle herself, Ylthari and now this Hero are all girls, Then everybody else, including the Treelords are dudes. To be honest, I think gender means little to a plant XD Yet, I remember female tree revenants are a thing. There could even be female treelords, just no models atm You’re comparing her to a Grot sitting on a squig.
  7. Yep! Personally I prefer these guys to Garrek's, because I feel that Magore is more efficient: The Fiends are like a 5 man blood warrior unit, Riptooth gives them free re-rolls making them quite self-sufficient, and our attack buffs benefit Magore a LOT. I like that Riptooth is a single hound, providing yet ANOTHER unbind. Garrek's are really cool, but I don thave them. YET. You'll be quite surprised actually. 6 bloodcrusher units are strong, unlike 6 skullcrusher units imo. 6 skullcrusher units are extremely expensive. I like skullcrushers as 3 dude roadblocks and objective grabbers that take forever to shift. They also jam super well. Bloodcrushers are what I use as a proper hammer. My Daemon focused lists use a 6 bloodcrusher team as a hammer, alongside my many other hammers (Insensate rage, skullreapers, etc). Bloodcrushers are good,I like them because of their cost. Footprint is unwieldy, but I like the fact that they are points efficient. The charge does most of the damage, treat the blades and the jugger attacks as just a bonus. If possible, try fitting them under a attack buff, like secrator or mongers, although it can be hard due to footprint.
  8. I’ll be honest: Your idea is FAR more reliable than mine. In my case the Insensate rage relies on finding a hero to smack, and actually charging one. In most cases I’d say going for Rage Unchained and Skullreaver (what you’re suggesting) is actually the most reliable now that I think about it. If we have access to a Killing frenzy I think it’s a strong combo. 7 attacks at 3+, rerollimg ones has a good chance of fishing those sixes to wound. With all honesty, Insensate Rage is still my favorite Bloodthirster, I really like how he massively disrupts your opponent’s plans. In addition, I feel like he can be a very strong choice into Slaanesh, because of his Outrageous Carnage ability. Slaanesh units right now are extremely fragile, and have lost a LOT of their old debuffs daemonettes Lost Locus, hellstriders lost banner, which makes them EXTRMEELY reliant on the Locus of diversion to survive. If we can play correctly around Locus of diversion, I think we can safely expect a sudden influx of Slaaneshi skulls at the foot of Khorne’s Throne in the next few weeks. Also @Battlefury, tested out 5 man blood warriors and loved them. I’m still bringing SOME 10-man blood Warriors Squads just to have some oomph with glaive and a bit more meat for my brick. But the 5-man blood warriors are incredible suicide units. Warshrine+stoker+Goretide is incredible. One thing I want to point out after some testing for our Lords of Khorne is that I noticed their Damage is kinda meh, and required a lot of investment to be good. I feel like their support is their main strength: Mighty lord’s command saves CPs if we position right, and it’s a big bubble, plus he provides an unbind, AND a hero for Places of Power, while dealing *decent* damage. He’s not deleting units, but I feel his support is quite good. Plus that zoning potential has been quite handy actually Korghos Khul has been amazing in my games, to be extremely honest. I really like him. The Juggerlord has much better damage than mighty Lord, but his command is quite useful, since it’s not an Aura. He’s also crazy durable, which is useful if we used him to jam up a unit. Next unit I’m gonna try: Magore’s fiends! I’m interested to see them in action. As Riptooth and Magore’s Fiends are separate units, does that mean if Riptootth dies, we get Blood Tithe for him?
  9. Also, I’m gonna pre order the Slaanesh battletome, but I’ve checked the warscroll. They’re strong, HOWEVER, they do suffer from a serious lack of wound re rolls. Most of their non-monster infantry wound on 4+, and rely on a LOT OF ATTACKS to get through. Hellstriders look like their chaos warrior equivalents, I’m predicting they will be the cheap durable(4+ save) battleline. The Keepers and Shalaxi are definitely scary, though likely to be quite expensive. Shalaxi seems limited to only be strong against heroes, which is interesting. Shalaxi also lacks the command ability of the keeper. Dont forget the keeper basically has the reapers of Vengeance command ability. As for Fiends, well, shooting might actually do the trick. Blood boils, skull Cannons. In fact, their save is low, so all of our boys can present a serious threat due to their sheer attack count. We should be wary of the Chariots though. They’ve got the same rule as Skullcrushers, but don’t need to be in units of 6(because 1 Chariot is already quite ex, they’re skull Cannon equivalents ), so they can do a LOT of mortal wounds, especially because of our MSU playstyle. Hellfalyers and exalted Chariots are insanely dangerous as they get extra attacks for every unit they wound with their special rule, so they can definitely kill us with a thousand cuts. Their charge can also circumvent some of our rules that work only in combat phase, like no respite, and gorefists and Murderous to the last. Seekers look quite dangerous. Harder hitting than hellstriders, but faster and more fragile. Likely used to attack our priests. Infernal Enrapturess seem very important. If you see them, THEY MUST DIE. They generate DPs, and can shoot us from a range. They also have a LOT of rend . Syll’Esske has a better version of Korghos Khul’s command, and is wayyy more damaging. But they probably are more expensive. At the end of the day, I think they’re potent. Just need to play smart. Still, I wanna get at least syll’esske’s model just to paint it...
  10. Don’t feel forced to take Slaughterhosts my friend, the best thing about Slaughterhosts is that we’ve got 3 entire tables of command traits to pick from, and a HUGE selection of fun artifact for us to use. Slaughterborn is still incredible, I also like Disciples of Khorne (it got buffed), even Bloodsworn is not bad for bravery. And one of my favorite combos is still: Ar’Gath King of Blades for an Insensate Rage then hunt heroes, and fish for as many sixes as possible hehe, possibly with Rage Unchained as command trait. Of course, that combo can also work with the Skullfiend tribe command trait for more Blood Tithe if you wish. I think it depends. I actually like the Cygors a lot, and the Brass Despoilers actually buff his shooting iirc. Cygor shootings is unreliable, but as ledha demonstrated in his game against the evlcators, there’s a lot of wizard units out there. Pink Horrors, Evocators, they all will suffer from a boulder to the face. And don’t forget, the unbind dealing damage works on them too. The re-roll to wound of brass Despoilers might work on him I think. HOWEVER. It is true that the Ghorgon is incredibly powerful. Devouring a model is crazy strong, use it to eat Icon Bearers, musicians, special weapons guys, or even wounded heroes. His Butcher Blades are terrifying, and the Maw with additional attacks can get really crazy quickly. Overall, i’d say go Ghorgon as he plays to the strengths of the Blades of Khorne, which is melee. This is extremely helpful! Thanks loads! One of the most interesting things here was the hexgorgers working against evicators. I completely forgot about that. There are now more wizard units, and the hexgorgers are very potent as such. Guys like evocators who may deepstrike closeby the backline, might be close enough to suffer the denuded of the Altar, and the hexgorgers might just be terrifying for them. This has been very knowledgeable! Thank m8! I’m very happy with the state of Skullreapers and mongers And Blood Warriors!
  11. I love the balrog model, although I’d probably use him as a Daemon Prince because I dunno, he seems a bit smaller than a Bloodthirster... also that scenic 60mm Base is incredible
  12. If I’m not mistaken, Spikey bitz, dont have the time to dig up the links though! Right now it’s still quite iffy, the rumors are all over the place... they literally have several contradicting rumors, 1 says White Scars are coming with primaris bikers, one says dark angels Primarch coming, another sayings Rogal dorn, so I’m really not sure. I think I’d trust that the Adeptus Astartes will definitely get something at Warhammer fest, but I find the sylvaneth rumor the most reliable of the bunch On the other hand, the New Zealand GW site has the new Slaanesh warscrolls, and they look pretty sweet Now that I think about it, the next time we have an event on scale of Malign Portents, i think we can expect a campaign for each grand alliance? So malign for death, then Slaanesh escape (+complete mortals release for Slaanesh) for Chaos, Destruction could be an ogors uprising and order could be Malerion’s/tyrion’s aelves? And considering how malign portents introduced 4 different factions into the game, I feel like GW can use such campaigns to introduce major releases tbh After forbidden power, there could be a malign portents scale campaign a while after the Darkoath release
  13. Right, another thing I was thinking about. I feel like the sylvaneth terrain piece might just be a wyldwood, except resculpted, and sold in a set of 3, like the Skaven Gnawhole. I feel like GW will purposely change the rules so that you don’t need so many wyldwoods, after i noticed the new Fyreslayers lists have changed a LOT (from 120 models in a list down to 50), so I feel like GW May do this just to reduce cost of entry? I dunno, just a wild guess
  14. Sweet! Enjoy putting them together, they’re my favorite kit to assemble and paint! Also guys, I’ve got a balrog I want to convert into a Daemon Prince, but I heard from some players that we can’t bring Lord of the Rings stuff into Warhammer games, especially tournaments, what are your thoughts on the matter? In friendlies, it’s perfectly fine, but not too sure about tournaments. And for Skullcrushers, if 6 dude units are so expensive, what do you guys think about using 3 dude units instead, as kind of an expensive roadblock? Maybe dump Bronzed flesh on them and tie up a big clanrats blob or something (in my case my crushers took forever to die and managed some surprising casualties against the rats)
  15. Uh oh. I’m worried that gutbusters will just get a terrain piece and endless Spells and nothing else... Still excited for the 3 seminar previews this month. In terms of 40K, it seems super active in terms of rumors (Primaris only codex, either imperial fists or dark angels Primarch+codex) for AOS, if sylvaneth are coming (as per the rumors), it might be to finish up Loomcurse and Sylvaneth before the previews (Warhammer fest, etc.), as it seems that the previews then would be a different battletome. So far rumors have been extremely quiet, so the most we can hope for is sylvaneth next week. Warcry is almost definitely coming out in June (Summer 2019), at Warhammer Fest we’ll probably just see a few warbands. There will likely be 1 “new-ish” faction, and 1 updated faction revealed at warcry, along with whatever forbidden power and that paint release will be.
  16. Ahhh, so you were using him more for his combat potential... yeah I think it’s better to do that than try to build around his command ability. So this was a Tyrants of Blood+Archaon? Were your Bloodthirsters and Archaon a sufficient hammer? And what was your Slaughter Host? Interesting. So it seems Archaon is very potent with our Khorne bois. Still haven’t got him yet, though I’ve noticed nobody really use his command ability, which now that I think about it, actually makes sense... 10 Skullreapers seems best. Same with Wrathmongers, 10 also seem optimum. Do you think taking 15 Skullreapers is too excessive? I’m considering testing that in my next game. For your original list, I do feel the 4 Bloodreavers units could be downsized a bit (maybe to 2 units?), in exchange for more hammer units, noticed that you’ve only got a Daemon Prince, the 5 Skullreapers and the Khorgorath. In this case, taking 10 Skullreapers would be a good idea. Personally, I think taking 2 units of 5 seems best so they can run around killing things quite freely Which Bloodbound mortals do you think should get points dropped? I feel Skullcrushers should get dropped. Skullreapers are great, tho I still feel they should get dropped a bit. Blood warriors imo could use a tiny drop. Bloodreavers feel ok where they are. Juggerlord definitely should get dropped tho. Same with khorgies. I wonder if anyone feels that Wrathmongers are undercosted? As far as Slaves to Darkness are concerned, After reading this thread enough, the Daemon Prince seems great. Id say Manticore Lord is best if you’re playing Goretide specifically, for the command trait. While reapers would do more damage because of command ability, I do think there’s the opportunity cost of using that command point, while the Manticore Lord can keep his for more “utility” command abilities like the Goretide one.
  17. This is a really cool list! It’s a good show of how the new battletome has seriously improved our roster over the old one! Admittedly, it’s still gore pilgrims, but I like how varied the list looks. Any idea what was the general meta (like DoK or LoN)?
  18. Pretty much this. Their weapons and Mount attacks are mostly extra attacks to deal a bit of damage. The charge is the main thing alongside their sheer durability. I do agree about one thing tho: Skullcrushers are a huge roadblock, and they're Crazy tough. 9 is ridiculously unwieldy, but 6 is really useful because of how annoying they are. HOWEVER, in terms of denying board space, I’d say judgements may do a better job. In terms of a charging hammer, what do you guys think is better? 6 Bloodcrushers or 6 Skullcrushers? Skullies are tougher, with more reliable damage, Bloods are more immune to battleshock, can regenerate dudes (if lucky), and are cheaper. If you were to take 1 unit of 6 juggerknights, then would you take Daemon or mortal?
  19. Well done ledha! Another victory for the Blood God! I’m pretty sure he’s proud of us Overall, I’m pretty sure of this: 2 units of wrathmingers is a legit hammer team that fits perfectly into almost any list, they’re relatively independent, and their support is amazing. And they’re only 280! Exalted Deathbringer is incredible, though I’ve tested skullgouger and I love it. Not reliable, but really funny when you roll 2 sixes... I love his command ability too, basically inspiring presence on steroids... one question though for @ledha: What were your thoughts on the Skullreapers? Is 3 units MSU good, or should we go 2 units MSU, or should we go for big blocks of reapers?
  20. Welcome to the forum champion of Khorne! For now, we will help each other, feel free to ask any questions you might have (Before we end up killing each other, for Khorne Cares Not From Whence The Blood Flows...)
  21. Hm, good point actually, i’ll Admit I’m just really used to using a Goreglaive and having an Icon Bearer (always felt the extra bravery helped). I think taking a mix might be best..? For example, in a Bloodmad warband, 1 10 man unit as a brick/core, with 2 5 man suicide units... it’s actually quite a legit idea, and gets max use of No Respire and our gorefists... Ya know what? I’m gonna test out 5 blood warrior units more. That’s an interesting idea actually A thematic list that’s for fun which you’re happy with is better than a mini-maxed list IF you’re playing casual . If playing competitive, then that’s a different story. Any idea how competitive the tourney is? Or is it relatively relaxed? Are you sure you can bring the ungors? Or are you bringing them as allies? Personally, I’d swap them for either a command point, or Garrek’s Reavers (great budget unit and cheap blood tithe). In terms of Battalions, do you feel you’ee Using too many? Getting 3 CPs and 3 artifacts is sweet, although ive noticed most brass Despoilers lists tend to only use the brass Despoilers Battalion (it’s pretty expensive), and usually try to fit in Wrathmongers for more hammers and support to let the bullgors get another attack. Ghorgon’s Great, I think he’s a super fun option to bring. Between hexgorger and murderous Icon, I usually prefer the icon since sometimes the lists I face have no magic, making my hexgorgers cry salty tears instead of blood Plus icon combined with axe is brutal
  22. By the War God, that’s a lot. At least Archaon’s one heck of a Tanky boi. What kind of heroes with command abilities do you like to take to synergize with his command ability? Good ideas mate, methinks for pile ins, the Unfettered Fury actually got my attention... his 6 inches pile in helps. The enemy can hit him with Locus of diversion, but it would technically mean that they can’t pile in and attack IF your daemons are more than 3 inches away, hence your guys could actually get the pile in and attack, and his guys would’ve possibly wasted their turns, UNLESS Slaanesh has ways to increase pile in range... Ho, you’re a brave Slaaneshi aren’t ya... just kidding, thanks for the advice! I forgot about that, Fiends are terrifying, and Extremely fast... as far as fiends are concerned, I’ve so far failed horribly against them, when they’re brought in large enough units, I open to anybody’s ideas to take them out; their debuffs are brutal. On that note, it’s true that slaanesh’s Greatest strengths lies in its sheer debuff Powers, even moreso now with the Locus, the new dark temptations, and the subvert spell that syll’esske Has. One note: When offered a gift by the Keeper of Secrets, I think whether we should accept or not depends on the circumstances: An Insensate rage thirster might actually use it very well; sure he’s got a good chance of dying, but before he dies, he might just obliterate half your opponent’s army before he explodes, and if he dies, MORE BLOOD TITHE! Plus he’s cheap-ish. And if he doesn’t accept, he’s taking D3 mortal wounds, which might knock him down the damage table (which is really bad), and he’ll still probably die anyway to the keeper’s super strong attacks (That crab claw hurts...) A wrath of Khorne might not need it much thanks to his re rolls. I feel it also depends on your heroes’ wounds left; if the guys gonna die (like 2 wounds left), might as well accept and go out in a blaze of glory. On the other hand, halo of blood might be really helpful if you’re charging your Bloodthirster into a keeper of secrets... it might protect him (kinda) from the Locus of diversion now that I think about it, large units of Fiends might be potentially weak to a skull Cannon, charging juggernauts, judgements or blood boils, which might be useful against them, I can’t think of much else
  23. Thanks for in-depth answers! This has me back to considering bringing out the Skullfiend tribe again! What do you feel are the optimum number of khorgies to make a Skullfiend tribe list particularly strong? A well deserved win I thought Archaon has good defenses? How many skinks were there? one thing I noticed after some games is that the Juggerlord is actually quite legit. When I bring Mighty lord, he’s a bit more vulnerable to sniping, especially magic, than the Juggerlord. Yet when I bring a Juggerlord, the enemy try to ignore him. Interesting... Juggerlord feels strong in Skullfiend tribe rather than Goretide, after playing some games with Skaven, I’ve noticed it’s quite easy to get the buff from Goretide, thus wasting the Juggerlord’s command ability. Mighty Lord feels great in both, while my luck with his axe is astronomically bad(like seriously, I think Tzeentch is laughing at me), I see my regular opponents give him a HUGE berth, not willing to take the risk lest they get splatted by his axe. Literally the best I’ve done is to reality split a wounded chaos warrior.... So the Mignty Lord has good support, also because if the enemy does ignore him, his support has been immsnesly useful. I like his command ability a lot, and his unbind is helpful. The board control afforded by him is actually really helpful. The Jugerlord has better damage, his command also buffs damage, and he’s still amazingly Tanky. But he feels best into Skullfiend or no slaughterhost, because Goretide feels like it wastes some of his points... i like both still, although Juggerlord could use a small points drop.
  24. I’ve actually been discussing with my Slaanesh friend/regular playmate about this, as well as the other previews so far, and here’s what I’ve surmised: We probably can’t tailor list counters in a tournament, as there are many other lists other than Slaanesh, but we can play around their abilities. And maybe tailor a little. Cant really plan for euphoric killers, it’s a straightforward buff. Interesting note by my playmate was that it’s somewhat less reliable than locus of fury, since it relies on a 6. It does mean that slaanesh players will be incentivized to play large units, so we can expect our reapers to possibly do a lot of work. For Locus of Diversion, combined with Depravity Points (DPs), players are likely to use a lot of heroes. These heroes are unlikely to be solely buff bots, most of them will be able to do damage, and generate more DPs. The multi-wound aspect of these heroes means that whatever happens, they will get those DPs for taking damage. The question is, killing them before they can deal enough damage to generate more DPs. Furthermore, one boon for us is that our Blood Tithe isn’t too dependent on our heroes surviving, unlike DPs. For the Locus, it’s not extremely reliable, but it is extremely dangerous. We can expect Shalaxi to be used to bait Bloodthirsters into melee, then debuffed hard. Same with Keepers and Daemon Princes, who may be used to hunt our characters to farm DPs. It does reward our MSU playstyle. More MSUs, less targets to divert, and more blood Tithe for us. Another weapon we have is Apoplectic Frenzy, allowing us to fight even when we’re dead. Blood Warriors, Wrathmongers, Skarr Bloodwrath and Skullreapers feel solid for this reason. Especially Blood Warriors with offensive buffs. Shalaxi and Keeper are both stronger than our Bloodthirster in terms of melee damage, but lack strong ranged attacks, (all of our Bloodthirsters can hurt you from a range). Naturally, Keepers with Living Whips, and Shalaxi, are both definite counters to our bloodthirsters. However, my friend says she suspects the keepers will be more expensive than our Unfettered Fury and Insensate Rage, possibly about wrath of khorne’s cost, or a bit more, due to all their special rules. They’ve got less buffing support for their units, I noticed. Seemingly little ways of gaining re-rolls to wound, which can stop their torrent of attacks, and so far they seem only able to access re-roll hit rolls of 1 from Pretenders or Syl’esske. Remember: Slaanesh Battleline troops seem to rely on a LOT of attacks to kill us. 10 man Gorefist Blood Warriors might actually do the trick, buffed with Damage stuff like Bloodstoker. Lots of chances to reflect mortal wounds. In my case, it’s worked against Plague Monk deathstar blobs that my Skaven brother loved to use. Syl’Esske can circumvent battleshock, other than that is a beat stick character with a command ability similar to Korghos. Hes a powerful force multiplier , and needs to be put down quickly. They seem to use a LOT of magic, having 3 spell Lords (!), and are likely to use the Contorted Epitome a lot, it buffs magic, so reapers are gonna do some serious work here. Same with Hexgorgers. I think Bloodsecrator is a solid choice as always for Loathsome Sorcery, tho watch out for any “overcharge” spells, he might accidentally trigger them! For Invaders, be warned: they get command points when each of their 3 chosen “generals” die. Little we can do, since killing their heroes is still extremely important. They generate DPs by getting onto our territory. For this, I feel our aggressive playstyle helps here. We are slow, but in almsot every game, I’ve found my army usually pushes forward into their territory, so it should stem DP generation. The Godseekers are likely to do a lot of summoning to try fishing for 8 inch charges. Other than that, they generate DPs by charging, in that aspect, harder to deny them because their units are extremely fast. For Pretenders, they’re likely to field large units. Also, their general will likely be an extremely strong beatstick. I’d say sniping their general is the best way to deny their DPs. Remember, our MSU approach here must be remembered, because the general gets more DPs if he’s within 3 inches of 3 or more enemy units (that’s us) As such, Slaanesh has an extreme emphasis on its heroes. They help DP generation a lot, and are normally strong combat characters. Sniping them may be the best option. Wrath of Khorne Bloodthirster, Insensate Rage, blood boils, wrath axes, could help take on such heroes. Anyway, I’m actually gonna buy the battletome, because I want to read the lore (I’ve done this with all the factions I‘m not playing, I jut love lore), buuuut I will read the rules and come back with an analysis of how we can fight them. HOWEVER, it’s gonna be extremely hard for me to resist the temptation to pick up Syl’Esske (their model is gorgeous)
  25. Thanks for report! I see the reapers did really well, what were your thoughts on the Wrathmongers? Is it better to run 2 units rather than 1? And was their damage sufficient for their cost? Absolutely stunnng m8, gives me some legit Viking feels, especially the axe/shield combo
