  1. So what was the consensus on the rockgut troggoths ranged attack ability? Is your target number less than the number of trolls in the unit (in which case 6 trolls = auto d3 mortals), or less than the number of targets in the enemy unit selected? I can see it argued both ways, has there been any official clarification? My local meta plays it as the number of trolls in the unit, as the more trolls = more rocks hurled at the target, and therefore harder for the target to avoid.Makes it equally effective on single hero’s as hordes.
  2. Oh well, I had thought we were getting something new. Well if they do give the unit a unique warscroll, at least I can utilize my current myrmourn banshees to represent them and not have to split a box just to get the models
  3. Looks like there’s some new models heading our way. There’s a new warhammer underworlds expansion called Dreadfane that was just announced. It appears there’s a unit of four banshees in it “lady harrow’s mournflight”. Assuming they will will have an AOS profile as well. I liked how the briar queen turned out, so I’ll be interested to see what they are doing here
  4. Thanks Malakree, that’s a great observation! Alright, here’s hoping for some Ironjawz updates then! I’d love if we absorbed the Greenskins and Gitmobs (with revamped rules) It fits my image of the endless hordes following in Gordrakks wake. And if they survive long enough, they peel the armor from a dead aardboy for an instant promotion! Also some gitmob artillery would be a welcome addition. There’s no reason we need to be a range-less army anymore.
  5. The LVO preview banner for the new battletomes has 2 factions prominently displayed on the banner for each grand alliance. Destruction shows Ogers and Gloomspite. We just got gloomspite, so I suspect the other destruction time for the year will be a revamped gut busters Or beast claw raiders. .....but do I also spy a possible doom diver in the far background? Perhaps the greenskins and gitmobs might get some loving? Probably wishful thinking, considering we just got a new gobbo army released.
  6. Mollug round #2 Ok after getting a better look at his warscroll, I’m beginning to like him even more. Especially when standing behind 3 fellwater troggoths. he’s got 8 health plus you can sacrifice his 3 minions to negate 3 wounds. Also the stalagsquig has a 5+ ignore damage, so it’s possible to mitigate even more damage. And Mollug regenerates on a 4+, and has a 4+ save so he’s hard to kill. he has a 12” ranged attack (jabbettoad) that applies a -1 to hit to the wounded model. His spoteshroom companion on a 5+ can apply a -1 to hit on an enemy unit. Combine that with some fellwater troggoths or some grot netters and you could shut down even the heavy hitters. I’m picturing Mollug in the center of a pack of 3 trogs holding an objective forever. he also has a few other minor tricks including a bravery buff, spell immunity on a 4+, and a 5+ 18” auto-wound. for 170 points I think I’ll squeeze him into my list. besides he looks damn cool
  7. For those looking for mollug’s warscroll, if you go to the offices GW’s store and look at the gloomspite battletome for sale, one of the example pages shown has Mollugs warscroll ( along with the fellwater and rockgut warscrolls). I’d link it but I’n not too formun savy
  8. To add to the discussion there is one more troggoth unit available. Mollug from shadespire underworlds. Hes got a club that auto inflicts mortal wounds, and some squig pals that may make things interesting. Also he’s a dankhold troll so tilts the battallion
  9. I just checked the New Zealand GW store. The aleguzzler gargant warscroll has been updated as well. They cleaned up and clarified his rules for falling over. There is now a point of impact, and you don’t tip the model over. Pick a spot 3” from the gargant, inflict damage to everything in a 2” damage radius around that point. Oh and you roll off with opponent to determine the point of impact
  10. I’ve got a question for the general community. Two of today’s model previews (the troggboss and mangler squig boss) state that these units unlock new battleline options (troggs and squig hoppers respectively). In AoS does that mean if those models are your commander, then you get additional battleline options? Does that therefore mean I can have a general destruction list with a Troggboss as my general and use troggs as my battleline instead of grots or standard orruks? Or will I also have to be gloomspite allegiance? i ask because I have never seen a unit grant battleline status, just allegiances granting battleline status (I.e. ironjawz allegiance for ardboys battleline).
  11. Considering beasts of chaos just cleaned up a big pile of old chaos units and gloomspire did the same for destruction, I think the next push would be a similar treatment for order, cleaning up the old elves dwarves and human factions. Ironjawz already have “modern” releases. Sadly, I think an ironjawz reboot is a long way off. Personally I don’t need a reboot, but releasing another unit or three would go a long way with me. Or as some have said, let up absorb green skins. The story already supports it, with hordes of orcs flocking to Gordrakk, no reason why we can’t have other green skins and grots tagging along. Perhaps some vehicles? Chariots pulled by Gruntas? Or a megaboss on a grunta?
  12. With the new gloomspire git’s army coming, i’ll Probably be transferring to a Grand alliance destruction army. I already do that occasionally for fun so I can bring more troggs, giants and artillery, and this release looks to be bringing a whole lot of punch to GA destruction. Im hoping a troggherd combined with a battalion of ironjawz will be a lot of fun, and the new troggs might provide some long needed hitting power Maybe some of those new armored squig riders as a Calvary replacement for gore gruntas. I just wish Ardboys were battleline for GA destruction. I hate fielding 30 orruks just to satisfy the battleline requirements.
  13. You never know, Mollug from shadespire might be a shaman. He is holding a frog in a spell slinging sort of way, and controls a gaggle of squiggly beasts
  14. 10 would be great, but if the kit builds the new bounders, and if those are a elite Calvary unit equivalent, then the kits will be just 5. That would be inline with other GW pricing.
  15. I’m hoping the riders are completely separate from the Squig. That way I can magnetize and switch riders depending if I want to field traditional hoppers or the new bounders. Also if the riders come off, I can field the mounts as 5 more squig a in a squig herd when. Or fielding them as calvary
  16. Some early morning musings Can anyone hazard a guess why the loonsmasha fanatics kit comes with 5 grots and a 6th “dead” grot? Looking at the photo of the unit there’s a 6th based grot that seems to be dead, or possibly passed out in his own vomit. could the unit have some sort of lasting effect that needs a token to mark their position on the board, even after the unit is destroyed? Otherwise why base a dead grot by itself? At first I thought it was supposed to be a comic relief piece where the grot fanatic crushed himself, but that would mean the kit has 6 fanatics, not 5, and the article explicitly states you can make 5 from the kit.
  17. I just realized the dankhold troggoth has an old bronze cannon hanging around its neck. I love it!
  18. Maybe the variant white build is the troggoth boss? Some ancient troggoth that’s been underground for untold millennia that has gone blind and turned completely white? Something that’s lived long enough to gain some semblance of wisdom (compared to your standard troggoth). fun stuff !
  19. Perhaps we’ll get a caster build with a centipede “pet” out of that kit. whatever it is, for once it feels good to be a destruction player. 👍
  20. It’s likely that the kits can produce various different units, that should be interesting as it will yield tons of bits for customization. Also so from the troggherd leak there is a white painted troggoth with a club in the air. I wonder if it’s just a variant build/paint job to the new rockgut kit, or if it’s a troggoth shaman or other hero for a future release?
  21. Are we sure the blurry snake thing wasn’t just a closeup of the fungoid shamans staff?
  22. Looking at the new size comparison from the Instagram feed, I hope the rock gut troggoths are getting a serious power upgrade on their warscroll to match their imposing stature. werent there some sour breaths shown as part of the intro video from Christmas? Could have sworn they were marching in the tunnels during the loon Kings monologue
  23. Another thought, how big is mollug (the dankhold trig from shadespire) going to be? I wonder if he’ll be the same scale as the dankhold troggoth kit, or a smaller version?
  24. I wonder how bog the dankhold troggoth will be? Sounds like 1 model per kit like an aleguzzler gargant. Can’t wait to see the Warscroll, might be a fun ally for my ironjawz. As as for sour breaths being discontinued, that makes me sad. I have a unit of 6, I guess I could use them rock gut trogs now, especially if I attached a bunch of fungus growths to them.
