  1. Sylvaneth has a lot of teleporting shenanigans with their trees. Pretty cool thematic army, will some cool looking models. I've seen people do season themed armies (fall, winter, etc.), which look pretty damned cool! And you're group doesn't play competitive, so why not?
Gitz can have some pretty big unis - units of 60 stabbas or shootas. So be prepared for a pretty big paint job. Some cool looking heroes though, like the Loonking,  as well as cool faction terrain. As for orruks, if you don't like the aestethic of iron jaws, then you have savage orruks. Limited range of models though, I believe. And of course with Orruk warclans you can combine IJ and savage orruks.

  2. I made a list. Seems kinda fun, and possibly good? I'm not sure what do to with the last 120 points though. Warpfirethrower and a CP?
    Or Cogs maybe? Soulsnare shackels?

  3. I got my little girl (4 yrs) interested in Warhammer. I let her choose the models she wanted. Alas , she failed to see the greatness of The Great Horned Rat... We glued two models and then she painted one.

I haven't had this much pleasure in being a dad in quite some time. It was such a great bonding experience!

  4. I played va Orruks this weekend. I got of a perfect plague monks charge (see picture). They were buffed with Skavenbrew for a total of 4 attacks each. So 161 attacks in totalt, they turned into 95 saves. My opponent just removed the pigs without rolling 😛

I lost the game 19 to 26 victory points in the end though.

  5. Do rat swarms have any place in our armies? Objective holders? Healing one unit per round could make them tanky against low amount of oppnent objetive grabbers? Oh wait, the swarms would then be outnumbered....
    So, any uses? :P

  6. The ratling gun weapon team says you double the attacks. The ability says you double the attack characteristic. The FAQ says:

Q: I found the ‘More-more Warplead!’ rule for the Ratling Gun rather confusing. Can you explain in layman’s terms how it works?

A: Certainly. Normally when you fire a Ratling Gun it makes 2D6 attacks. The ‘More-more Warplead!’ rule allows you to double the number of attacks, as long as you say you wish to do so before the dice roll is made. However, if you say that you will double the number of attacks and the dice roll is a double (e.g. two 1s, two 2s, etc.), then after all of the attacks have been made and you have inflicted any damage that they caused, the attacking model is slain.

So do we roll 2d6 and double that, or 4d6?

  7. @Twh30List number 2 is the one I like the least. The fiends and acolytes both compete for MMMWP, and the verminlord is not a big threat like Thanquol.
List 1 and 3 are nearly identical, and I like list 3 better because of a juicy block of 40 clanrats.

Hey guys! I'm going to try this list against an orruk player (Big waagh, or whatever its named), and a Nurgle with thrice fold.
What do you guys think? Any changes?

Congratulations! You've passed your skaven exam. The council decided to award you for perfect example of "blaming someone else for your own mistakes" with... Rat Ogor's herder duty.

Yes! I'm the greatest! I KNEW I could do it!
... Wait... Rat ogors? So, hey, turns out maybe I DID do a mistake back there. Could I possibly just go back to being a clanrat again? .... 😢

It wasn't another update. What Gwendar showed us is for regular terrain - faction terrain has different placement rules:

"In a Pitched Battle, faction terrain must be set up more than 3" from any other terrain features and more than 1" from any objectives, in addition to any other restrictions that apply to it. Sometimes this will make it impossible for a faction terrain piece to be set up; in this case, it is not used.’

Dammit @Gwendar! Don't play with my nerves like that! ;)
And no, I will not take any responsibility for having completely misunderstood what you guys were talking about! Clearly, that was some other rats fault!

  11. @Skreech VerminkingOh wow! That ability is really powerful. Huh... I was planing on a double screen, but now I'm not sure that's gonna work anyways.
Well... If I do a double screen with >6" separating them....
Edit: Wait, wouldn't a 3" pile in +2" reach give them 5" reach beyond the first screen?

  12. A friend of mine has gotten himself 1k of Orruks. Mostly Iron jaws I believe. He's a maw crusha.
    Here's my list:

This is gonna be a test of my screening game. He generally likes to go for the double turn too, so surviving this is gonna be tough :P

Here's the snip from the GHB 2019 errata in case any local people ask 😉. It's actually 6" from other terrain and 1" from objectives.. unless of course it's been updated further and buried in some other random FAQ since GW has a problem with this sometimes but I digress:

Wow... That's just so bad....  Really hard to place gnawholes then :/

  14. Interesting list @Skreech Verminking! Do post a battle report :)
How you found the night runners are worth? Definitely and cool unit with that pre combat move.
Do you have any experience with 1 x10 vs 2 x 10 night runners?

2x20 acolytes is also interesting. Less bang for you buck than 1x30, but more resilient and versatile I guess.
