  1. I like Beasts of Chaos but I 'aint putting no wizards in my Khorne lists. I'll stick to my 40 man Bloodreaver blob with a Blood Stoker nearby. No need to fix what 'aint broke!
  2. I'm not sure what your confusion is. What point value do you play at? If you play at 2500 points and the new point values increase your previous army from 2480 to 2980, that means you have to change up your army. It may also mean the Battalion you used previously is no longer usable at that point value.
  3. I play all mortals with all Blood Sacrifice for summoning, so these changes only help me. Unbuffed Bloodletters are technically buffed since their MW attack doesn't get dropped. Gore Pilgrims is still going to be a staple because it helps every unit in your army by buffing your Slaughterpriests. Buffing large units of Bloodreavers is still profitable, hell this just means shifting from spamming the +1 to hit to the +1 to save and making your Bloodletter bombs unkillable, lol. The meta for Khorne hasn't even settled down from the 2.0 shakeup so who knows what insane lists people are going to try running from here on out.
  4. Bloodletters lose 6+ mortal wounds for unmodified: well maybe slingshotting 30 Bloodletters into the enemy army turn one wasn't a good idea. New battalion slingshots entire battalion into enemy army turn one:
  5. Warhammer TV showed off the new warscrolls. No huge changes, but bloodcrusher impact hit is a 2+, Karanak has 6 head attacks, the leader of the Fleshounds has a shooting attack. Unfortunately the bloodletters do a mortal wound on a 6 unmodified (so no stacking prayers), but it is in addition to normal damage. Overall I'm happy. All good and needed changes. Hoping the points on everything didn't radically change.
  6. Seeing how weak it is in 40k I'm hoping they get something a tad bit stronger, but if they stay the same points and get anything it's a clear win, though an 8 inch ranged shout isn't going to help their summoning potential.
  7. 40k Chapter Approved points have leaked and they reveal something exciting for Khorne: Flesh Hounds can now take a Gore Hound in the unit for extra points. This may mean that Flesh Hounds are getting a "leader" in the unit. If you look at the new hounds, one of them does look larger than the others and has a more prominent frill going on. Personally I love summoning Flesh Hound units on mass and if they make them any deadlier I'm game.
  8. It depends on what you're using to backup those Reavers. Many armies are equipped to deal with at least one horde unit and if they get the jump on you they can wipe you out quickly. That's been my fear with my single 40 man Reaver unit so far (though it's historically done quite well) and I'm considering bringing a second 40 man unit just to split the enemy forces without reducing my own power all that much. Being able to surround the enemy with semi-buffed Reavers (rerolling hits from shrine, rerolling 1s from Stoker) is devastating as long as you swing first.
  9. Someone took a Gore Pilgrims with a Dark Feast and giving all his Priests Blood Sacrifice. I believe he also had a Warshrine (not 100% sure on that). From what he said it worked well enough and he was summoning like crazy. I wouldn't run Dark Feast by itself since it's like a weaker Gore Pilgrims, but together with another battalion it allows you to reduce your drops enough to try and get the second turn.
  10. No because the rule for Devastating Blow says it procs on "rolls of 6", not "a 6+", or "6 or more". IMO Immense Power plus Ghyrstrike is a much more devastating combo on certain models (cough Daemon Prince cough).
  11. This does not supersede the individual boxes where they display the items that all begin with "Any KHORNE (insert keyword here) HERO". You are still restricted by the MORTAL and DAEMON keywords. The errata is simply to try and make things a little more streamlined in the book itself.
  12. I don;t have anything to add, I'll refer to my original reply with another user's point changes. Mortals across the board are fine (Blood Warriors and Khorgoraths I could see getting a 10 point reduction each but they don't really need it). Daemons need adjusting to the same levels our blue and green friends got which will make them cheaper and better overall.
  13. Games Workshop is requesting suggestions on points increases and decreases for all armies! <-- this is also the link to their facebook A guy named Patrick Fisher wrote a pretty good breakdown that I mostly agree with already:
  14. You're supposed to roll your attacks one at a time and even your saves one at a time for just this reason.
  15. I was running Juggerlord before the Daemon Prince. My problem with the Juggerlord in my army in particular was the fact that I have a lot of units of foot which got in the way of the Juggerlord doing his thing. When he got in, he did decently well, but was pretty hit or miss (was incorrectly running Gorecleaver). That Claw could be useful, I mean 5 damage on a 5+ on the charge could completely wipe out other units if you roll well. I still think Ghyrstrike is the better option for consistent damage over the course of the battle since you're relying less on rolling "well" and more on simply rolling.
  16. So that means that Gorecleaver is pretty much useless at the moment compared to Ghyrstrike, wew. Makes my most recent decision to take a Daemon Prince with Ghyrstrike + Immense Power + Axe that much easier to swallow.
  17. The title for the teaser video for the Moonclan was Destruction Rising. That could imply that more than one Destruction army will be seeing updates.
  18. I was actually thinking about using Hungry for Glory to reroll 1s against monsters and heroes, and then using the artifact that gives +1 to hit and wound rolls. 2s and 2s rerolling 1s against things you want your lord to be fighting anyways, seems like you'll constantly be forcing saves.
  19. I can't argue with your math, however I would take Blood Warriors on the board over Bloodletters to start with. I agree summoning Bloodletters on mass is pretty great.
  20. I'm debating taking two units I've never used before: a Mighty Lord of Khorne and a Slaughterbrute. Anyone have any playtime with these two?
  21. On paper Blood Warriors aren't anything special, but in every game I run them they perform well. I've recently tried dropping them down to four units of 5 but I find that amount underwhelming. They get wiped out too quickly and, while they bite back a little, the damage isn't significant. When I was running them in two units of 10 with Goreglaives they would always be devastating to the unit that approached them and the 20 wounds meant they could weather an initial assault and/or grind down an enemy unit by themselves. Khorgoraths have the monster keyword and aren't mortals but do a ton of damage, Bloodletters aren't mortals and require you build around them potentially doing a ton of damage, and Blood Reavers' are similar to Bloodletters in that they need outside help to reach scary levels. You could argue that you're already bringing the outside help for all of the above to work, but if your focus is on summoning instead of buffing than Blood Warriors become very appealing as a "plug'n'play" unit. edit: a word
