  1. I'd rather make my Daemon Prince my Goretide General so he gets the +1 damage on all his weapons, and then Ghyrstrike for +1 hit and +1 wound. Hitting and wounding on 2s, rerolling 1s to hit. Take the axe, hit / wound on 2s, -2 rend, D3+1 damage. Your claw is now also 3 damage. Stay inside the Bloodsecrator banner for more attacks. Back when you could do this with Immense Power warlord trait I used one of those damage websites to see the damage, and well, it 'aint bad (this was before he got reroll hits of 1): I tried this out in a game and you go around tearing through units like nothing. The only problem is the Daemon Prince is a pretty weak (defensively) unit, so you can't just fire and forget. He has to jump into targets that either are going to die asap or are going to take enough damage that they can't kill him instantly. That's really the only downside to him: he's squishy.
  2. It would be kinda cool but it isn't what the rules say. The rules make exceptions for units that have Slaughterhost keywords built into them so you can still take them. It doesn't let you take two for your army.
  3. I played a game Sunday with my Gore Pilgrims + Dark Feast idea. I was against Ogors, which is something like the list below (never played against them before so I'm not sure). I made a number of mistakes that lost me the game very quickly: 1. I did not cast my judgements turn one because they would have been out of range. This was stupid because they can be used to block movement while the axe also causes enemies within 3 inches to have -1 to hit, increasing it's threat range. I should have attempted to cast all my judgements and use them to create a funnel. This would be important because... 2. I have 40 Bloodreavers that I charged headfirst into the enemy line, which was very stupid. He had his "chaff" Ogors in front of his stronger Ironguts (or whatever the much stronger unit is with 2" weapons). It isn't the fact that I charged that was stupid, it was the fact that I spread my Bloodreavers out along his line in an attempt to get as many into combat as possible. Granted, I killed six Ogors, but the backswing from them and the unit behind them killed the entire unit of Bloodreavers. A better strategy would have been to get ONE Bloodreaver in contact (combat) with both lines, then create a conga line through my funnel of Judgements. This would have completely negated his two line strategy while keeping his chaff + hammer units in combat for at least turn one if not turn two, allowing my Priests to boil their blood, launch Judgements, and buff Blood Warriors who would move in to clean up. 3. I needed to keep my Bloodsecrator and one Priest close to the Dark Feast 40 Bloodreavers so they could hit 4 attacks per model. I did this successfully, however when the Bloodreavers died the heroes were completely exposed and quickly died as well. The conga line idea would keep them safe behind a large amount of the unit and I wouldn't need to get too crazy with movement or wholly within during combat. 4. My Mighty Lord with a Gorecleaver whiffed all his attacks. I'll be replacing him with Khul, use him as the general, and free up an artifact slot for someone else. I've concluded that 40 Bloodreavers buffed with Prayers and Dark Feast are very killy and can clear out a chaff unit quickly, but they aren't Blood Warriors and will die if there is a backswing. The 30 Blood Warriors with 3 Goreglaives idea would have most likely eviscerated the Ogor chaff and survived the backswing, however I have neither 30 Blood Warriors nor 3 Goreglaives so that's not possible for me. My funnel idea using the Bloodreavers seems solid on paper, and I will be trying it out in a few weeks when I'm able to get back out to the game store.
  4. @MOMUS You missed that Blood Warriors Gore Fists now proc on an unmodified save roll of 6, making them leaps better than before. I did a mock deployment of my 40 Bloodreavers + heroes to see how I could configure them to be within everyone's buffs turn one. It's cramped, and at most one priest is going to be in range of the alter for rerolls. I don't NEED them to be buffed to do their job as a speed bump, but I'm pretty much leaving it to Khorne to decide if they get their prayer buffs. I've also resigned to giving the Bloodsecrator the Thermalrider Cloak not only so he can keep up, but so he can get in the mix where possible. He also hits liek a truck: 5 attacks hitting / wounding on 3s with rend -1. With a fast enough movement and fly he should be good for suddenly appearing next to something and smashing its face in.
  5. That sounds like a very potent screen. If they live, you attack with 5 attack each. If they die, you get a blood point and your opponent's models are right in front of your killy units. Too bad I have more Bloodreavers than sense (or any Wrathmongers / Skullreapers) or I'd probably be doing this too. As an aside: there is now no longer a rule limiting the number of blood points to 8, so it's now possible (temporarily) to summon a Greater Daemon of Khorne without needing to take him in the list. I look forward to seeing an MSU Bloodreavers list dedicated to doing this one and only thing.
  6. MSU Meatripper Bloodreavers in this configuration could be potentially devastating, however Bloodreavers are also made of paper mache. And with the nerf to summoning (one unit per your turn now instead of multiple) it doesn't seem worth it to sacrifice tons of them like that, UNLESS you had something you were keeping in the back pocket for the 8 point Blood Tithe exploding dice option.
  7. There's no room for a Warshrine even if I had one built up, unfortunately. I'm just using the one big blob to crash into the enemy line turn one and the rest is MSU. The plan is pretty much to hold the enemy on their side of the board with Blood Warriors + heroes as a second wave. Maybe there's a strategy here where you use Apocalyptic Frenzy to attack before they do anything in their hero phase. Hell, maybe there's a strategy to launch 10 Blood Warriors in first to attempt to kill something and die, Sacrifice to gain a point, and try to get off Relentless Fury before you launch your 40 Bloodreavers in. They can be the final spear that you stab into the heart of the enemy after your Blood Warriors tear their chest open.
  8. I should be playing a game this Sunday using Goretide, Gore Pilgrims, and Dark Feast and using all 70 of my Bloodreavers + my 20 Blood Warriors. I'm a little worried about not having much punching power, so I'm hoping the Mighty Lord + Blood Boil spam from 3 Priests + Judgements can make up the difference. No idea what I'm going to be facing yet.
  9. To be fair: the Bloodletter Bomb has been a thing since AoS started. They've just replaced the Bloodletters with Bloodreavers and Blood Warriors. I'm not complaining, I think this is an important part of our army, but it's not a new concept. That said: you do make good points. Unless your opponent plans to give up pretty much the entire first turn, they are going to have to deploy somewhat aggressively. There's a good chance you'll have something in range to charge. 80 points is fine but an 8 inch wholly within aura is going to make positioning very difficult if you take more than one. You really don't need to create more than one uber-unit a turn, but that's just my opinion.
  10. I'm too gunshy of possible changes to the warshrine in the future to move forward with my Khorne version now, so I'm sticking with multiple priests. I don't think multiple Stokers is an effective use of your points. That said, I've placed my models out and it's not difficult to get 40 Bloodreavers in range of the Stoker for a turn one charge. The biggest problem with this is how obvious it is to your opponent. Anyone with a brain is going to deploy as far away as possible, denying you the first turn charge, or place all their chaff in front of you. Even so, being able to plant a 40 man unit of buffed up Bloodreavers on an objective or encroaching on your opponent's side of the board is very appealing. You could even spread them out to deny an area of the board and funnel your opponent towards your beefier units. Lower your drop count, go first, launch judgements out to zone ahead of your units, buff your Blood Warrior unit up, position so he is forced to move around your judgements towards your Blood Warriors, ???, profit. Utilize your alter's large base plus your judgement's large bases to create funnel, and then buff the hell out of your Blood Warriors and put them at the head of the funnel. Force him to either go around your funnel, spreading out his units, or take it head-on with however many models he can press against it.
  11. There is no cookie cutter build yet because everyone is still cookin'. Give it a couple of months and we'll see who's got the tastiest batch. Until then, grab your cookie sheet and join in!
  12. It's going to keep coming up every 15-20 pages or so because there's no repository of good info regarding the new release just yet. I'm unsure how much mods like us mentioning 1d4chan but it's slowly getting updated.
  13. I only have starter set Blood Warriors so I know which one I'm going with.
  14. There was some math being thrown around a number of pages ago but I'm unsure on how real world it was.
  15. You are correct: it is not literally quoting the rules. When you literally quote the rules, line by line from start to finish, you see that you are not able to use more than one Slaughterhost for your Khorne army. "If your army is a Khorne army, you can give it a Slaughterhost keyword. All Khorne units in your army gain that keyword." These two lines tell you everything: you can give your Khorne army "a" keyword, and "all Khorne units in your army gain that keyword." The next line does not overrule those two previous sentences, it simply allows you to take units that have inbuilt Slaughterhost keywords in armies where you've already taken a Slaughterhost. Right now that only applies to Korghos Khul who has the Goretide keyword. You can take Korghos Khul in an army that is using the Skullfiend Tribe Slaughterhost keyword, for example. This book and all rules in it are trying very, very hard to not only simplify but be as clear as possible what you can and cannot do. Take the rules literally.
