  1. Due to my avatar, I feel a special connection already! I think you might be in luck as it looks like there will be new Darkoath (Chaos barbarians) minis coming in the near future. Warhammer Underworlds also has some nice barbarians for you that you could repurpose for WarCry or AoS. Personally, I find AoS more enjoyable than 40k as the rules are simpler and thus IMO more fun but that‘s a personal preference. I play 40k very rarely so that factors into it. The best rules are the ones you know well after all! Welcome!
  2. I feel like the grimdark manifested itself long before Mordheim. The big Chaos box (Realm of Chaos) that included rules for Warriors, Daemons and Beastmen as one single army had already very grimdark lore. IIRC, Tuomas was responsible for that one as well. Either way, to this day it‘s my definite picture of what Chaos should be. ❤️
  3. I wanna paint more of my stuff (Disciples of Tzeentch/Thousand Sons, more scenery, odd one-offs here and there) and I'm currently having a hard time not getting a second army. FEC really calls to me, although I'd probably also get skeletons and a couple of Nighthaunt to mix into them and run them all with FEC rules. My friends wouldn't mind and I love mixed Death forces since I've played Castlevania on the NES. But truth be told, if I was faster and didn't hate building minis (I hate removing flash, I'm a bit obsessive about that) so much, I'd probably own a Seraphon, Cities and now FEC army already and would love to get Skaven. And Ironjawz. Nids. More Chaos. Iyanden (or anything with lots of Wraithguards). So many cool armies out there... thank God I've learned to stick to my guns cause else I'd need a gigantic flat, I'd be hopeless! If I keep strong I won't really buy all that much most likely as I got pretty much everything but I need to turn those grey masses into something a little more fitting. We shall see... I'm at a point where I'd bet against myself staying strong though! I'd also like to finally print parts for my own custom leader but first I'd need to 3d model them. Probably just gonna use the Thaumaturge's warscroll for him. So yeah, all in all pretty easy goals for me - I can't set challenging goals for myself as I'm terribly lazy, a slow perfectionist and I got a lot of real life stuff to deal with too. But such a slow pace is enjoyable to me.
  4. I'll say this while I can: I never really liked the theory that TOW is part of the 40k universe and just a world inside a huge, impenetrable warp storm and Sigmar could be a lost primarch (unlikely with the newer 40k fluff). I think it's better that the settings are entirely separate.
  5. I kinda hoped we'd also see Boobworm guy and Fatemaster after they've shown the Nurgle Harbinger as the original got released along those two but I've got little to no hope left for them to come out as part of these books.
  6. Hopefully! But I‘m afraid they once again will get nothing until their big update. For the record: I hope I‘m wrong!
  7. Those aren't proper gods anyways, they're just faction-specific superheroes. The only true gods are those you will not see on the tabletop as minis!
  8. He's using Cameron Diaz's hair gel. It's extra strong goodness, 100% natural, guaranteed!
  9. Oh, I don't agree with the graphic I've posted in all regards, I just wanted to whine about having no cool armored mortal Tzeentch unit and quote Morty Smith!
  10. Stolen from Reddit, it kinda makes me cry. Not all picks check out but we see that Tzeentch sorely lacks mortals! Get your *beep* together, 2024, no pressure, get it all together and put it in a back pack, all your *beep*, so it's together.
  11. That‘s my favorite Marvel bitplayer and the single best comic panel....ever. I call him Pterodactyl-man. Btw, this character actually named himself after LOTR Sauron.
  12. We got Sauron at home. Sauron at home: Yup, it‘s a tragedy.
  13. Nurgle Harbinger in my book but I iked a lot of AoS releases. FEC, Seraphon, CoS all had amazing minis and that's just the tip of the iceberg!
  14. Well, you are right of course, it‘s inconsequential but it would be kinda nice to have an AoS category, cause obviously most will vote for a 40k mini…
  15. Yeah, it‘s rigged in so far, they every second person in the GW hobby plays mahreens. I love space marines as well, they‘re cool, but they still don‘t deserve the win. 😇 And it‘s sad thar mahreen players can‘t look past their pond and honor other models. Hell, even I can congratulate the light of Eltharion or Coolathis!
  16. The Lion isn't a bad model at all, far from it, but it's wholly undeserved to see him take gold. My vote went for the Nurglite Harbinger and that would've been a much better winner. Time for wearing my tin foil hat: AoS is really underrepresented in these polls and they also look to be rigged as only the huge centrepiece models get to win, when some of the very best models IMO are just simple minis on foot. Composition, mood, etc.... you can't tell me Lion or Angron are better than the Harbinger. I mean you can but I'll refuse to agree! Gitzdee is right - next year it's gonna be Vulcan or Leman Russ or whomever else they bring back no matter how great some other minis will be.
  17. Good luck with the new job! My plan is the same as always: paint my stuff. Usually I kind of impress myself how little I get done each year, so I hope I‘ll be better this year for real.
  18. While a lovely colleague of mine (my proudest moment was when he once stepped on me!) fused himself with a stupid high elf dragon to create the very first chaos dragon, they shall be released for all of the Chaos club (it’s like the Disney club, we’re just more childish) members! ❤️
  19. 👁️😉👁️😉 😭 They‘ve found me and they do terrible things to me, like making me wear their strange, oversized helmets! I always thought my end would be the mods in here after I posted one stupid thing too many but here we are… I‘m so, so sorry that they‘ve caught me, definitely not for what I posted about Lumineth! Ouch! I had soooo much hate to give this world, what a cruel plane of existence this is! * Poof!* Ah, back in the realm of Tzeentch, phew. I‘m gonna rate Hysh with 0 stars on realmadvisor. Too bright there and really rude people, strange food…. and totally antidemonic too, not cool. I didn‘t do nothing, aight? Big T just told me my holiday is over now since I came back to office early. Great! Drat you, Lumineth!!! I think it would visually just really work for them. I liked the old dragons…. I also like the new ones - what I don‘t like is that so far only SCE got some!
  20. I hope someone gets the classic serpentine dragons from WHFB… maybe Lumineth, would work well with their slightly oriental/eastern design cues! More dragons would be cool in general, sea dragons for IDK, chaos dragons… so many cool dragons could be added to AoS!
  21. That new Stormcast unit sounds like a really cool idea, whether it’s true or not! Really grimdark and messed up. Imagine being kinda immortal only to have that gift revoked. That could make for awesome narratives! Our cute rats would get a lot of hate (in-universe) if they messed this hard with Cities. I really looove what I see!
  22. No, you are absolutely right; the changes were not exactly groundbreaking or big - what we mean is that a big change wouldn‘t likely go down well with marine players. It‘s too big a risk as the design IS 40k and people like it, so there is little incentive to stray far from it. And marines got a whole lot more diverse in the last few years on top of it…. Would something really new be cool? Most likely! But perhaps GW should be creative with other factions. I got no personal skin in the game, Chaos SM use archaic armor anyways, so I‘d be for more creativity in the SM range but I think we all know SM players… at least the ones online already really had a hard time accepting Primaris at first! 😂 Imagine now a really different design, they‘d riot!
  23. I think you misjudge how slowly SM armor got changed in the past, the different armor styles only got available thanks to Forgeworld. We had the last tactical squad before the Primaris for more or less something like 15 years. Back when it came out it was the single most impressive plastic kit in wargaming and it‘s still the look of SMs, Primaris are still just the „new“ thing to many fans. And they got a ton of new variants with them as well. Something more creative than those redesigns is unlikely for now I bet. But even better, cause so many other forces need attention anyways and they can release chapter-specific stuff for easy money. I‘d rather see more SCE than SMs although I‘d like to see lots of other stuff before either of them. But I‘ll say this: the basic marine design won‘t change too much for a looooong time, the Primaris were the big change for SMs.
  24. With SM being their bestsellers, I don‘t think they want to stray far from the current model(s) they got going on. Sure, SM players would gladly get more marines (they already do though) but they will not be very creative in their redesigns. If I owned GW and SM sold better than anything else, I wouldn‘t mess with that formula either. If anything, I‘d bring back old design cues in the new size/armor design and go full-circle…
