  1. I reckon if FEC are getting an army set like a lot of new or updated/refreshed armies get these days there's a decent chance we'll either see some of the models in the set at the preview or have the entire set revealed if it's coming fairly soon. The rest of the new FEC stuff would probably be revealed closer to the end of the year.
  2. They do seem to be of a similar size to the old/current ghouls so I would say that's possibly more evidence pointing to them being a remake of the current ghouls.
  3. Yep these are the ones, apparently they were actually bought at a car boot sale and then that original buyer ended up selling them to the current individual that's building them.
  4. The current basic ghouls do hold up reasonably okay but I think I do lean towards hoping that the leaked sprue is a replacement. I've just recently built and nearly finished painting 10 of the current ghouls and the mold lines are pretty numerous as well as there being some mold slippage in places (I think that's what it's called?). It would be great for the basic unit of the army to not require some extra clean up before you can paint them.
  5. Saw an interesting post pop up on the FEC subreddit. Supposedly the poster bought the leaked FEC sprues from the person who originally leaked them and expects to have the sprues by the end of the week. Apparently they're also going to make an attempt at building the models as well. If what they're saying is true we might get an unofficial look at that this new unit later in the week.
  6. At first glance the rumour engine does look FEC related but it does look very skeletal so it could also be something for the Bonereapers.
  7. Fingers crossed that FEC start getting teased or hopefully get their first reveal at this preview!
  8. There could be a Warhammer Day preview coming up in early October, though the Warhammer day preview last year was solely focused on 40K and Killteam. Hopefully if it does happen again this year they'll expand it out to more systems or have it solely based around AoS this time.
  9. I was torn between Living City, Misthavn and Lethis but in the end I settled on Misthavn. I partly decided to go with them because I really liked the combination of the sea green and light grey for the colour scheme. On top of that I also love their lore, especially the fact that the entire city is made up of an enormous number of ships moored/docked together and how in emergency situations or in situations where they need to move, the city can just break up into separate ships or fleets. It also gives me a mild excuse to get some Kharadron one day and paint them up as Barak Mhornar since they have pretty close ties to Misthavn.
  10. I don't mind the current Fyreslayer models too much, aside from a couple odd poses in the vulkite berserkers kit. I think it's always been the lack of options or variety that have prevented me buying into them. A new wave of models akin to the one Ironjawz are getting (hopefully a slightly bigger wave with some new types of droth included) would probably be all I need to dive into them since I've always liked their fiery theme/aesthetic.
  11. I was pretty set on getting some Kharadron one day as my first AOS dwarf models but If Fyreslayers get a release/second wave with models that match the style of that warband they might take first place. That is unless Chaos Dwarves ever materialize, in which case any possible future Kharadron and/or Fyreslayer plans will immediately be pushed to the side.
  12. I opted to vote 'other' since I'm a painter first and foremost. I do tend to primarily bounce between painting AOS and 40K (and their side games like Warcry) but I also dabble with models from other games like Inifinity, Conquest, ASOIAF and Dystopian Wars. I'm also currently being tempted by some of the new releases for Warmachine, if only the army sets weren't so damn pricey here in Aus.
  13. Oh those Fyreslayers are really nice! and that mini-droth is adorable
  14. Decided to make a start on my FEC, specifically the Jerrions Delegation box. I plan to hopefully paint at least 10 ghouls, 3 crypt horrors or flayers and the marrowscroll herald. once I get all that painted up I'll decide whether I want to paint the rest of the box or have a break and paint some Misthavn CoS. Thought I'd paint up a single model to test out the scheme before painting the whole lot and I'm fairly happy with how it turned out, was worried that the skin might've been too dark but after seeing it fully finished I think it looks alright. The only things I might change going forward with the other models is painting the bones/teeth differently so they aren't quite as yellow and putting some thinned carroburg crimson instead of berserker bloodshade over the sore/inflamed bits so they stand out a tad more.
  15. My idea for the colour scheme was actually inspired by the fel orcs from Warcraft! I've never played it but I've always liked the idea of red orcs ever since I saw the fel orcs.
  16. The Ironjawz leaks/new wave finally motivated me to dig out the Ironjawz models I bought years ago but never got around to painting. So far the tentative name for them is 'The Red Fists of Gork', I haven't quite come up with a lore reason as to why they have red skin yet, maybe they're empowered by some super Waaagh energy or something to that effect. Might update this in the future when I inevitably get the new kits and some of the already released kits.
  17. I think I like Trugg overall it's just the face I don't like quite as much, which might be purely down to how it's painted. I can see myself getting him in the future when he goes up for sale by himself. As tempting as it is to get the dawnbringers box I think I'm gonna have enough to paint in the near future between, CoS, Ironjawz and FEC.
  18. I really empathise with Truggs hatred of waking up/being woken up.
  19. Wow all the new Ironjawz models look amazing, especially the new ardboyz, they look so menacing. I should have finished painting my current lot of Ironjawz by the time these get released so I might have to grab a box of the ardboyz and ragerz/wrekkaz when they go up for pre-order. I'm a bit whelmed by Trugg (mostly due to the face/head I think) but he might grow on me over time. Those new gorgers look great, might be tempted to grab that mini duel box with them and wildecorps depending on the price. The new underworlds set looks pretty nice, I'm always keen to see some new Idoneth models. Hopefully we might see some sort of elite namarti that resembles those two models in the box if/when Idoneth get a second wave. I was hoping but wasn't expecting to see anything from the FEC so I'm not really disappointed on that front, there's probably still time for at least one more major preview this year. It's not AOS related but speaking of disappointment, man that Fulgrim model is such a monkeys paw moment, I've been wanting a Fulgrim model (plus anything for emperors children in general) for ages and when it finally happens it's a HH Forgeworld resin kit. It's an amazing looking model but it's a bit marred by the disappointment.
  20. It wouldn't surprise me if the FeC release pans out similarly to how the Slaves to Darkness release happened, army set in a couple/few months and then a full release sometime in January potentially. Would be great to get the full release this year but Winter 2023 is apparently a very tiny window.
  21. Yeah it's such a nice combination of colours! I wasn't expecting to be won over by it as much as I have been.
  22. Seeing Misthavn in that article has me heavily leaning towards painting them, also partly because I couldn't order the kroak green needed for Living City alongside the army set. What paints does everyone reckon they used for the greenish blue? Annoyingly in the battletome they have that part of the colour scheme as dark grey so that doesn't really help.
  23. As I mentioned in the rumour thread I'm torn between Living City, Lethis and Misthavn, leaning heavily towards Living City, but a spanner has been thrown into the indecisive works. Having just looked at the transfer sheets and seeing the miscellaneous heraldry, the trident one on the left has just given me an idea for some sort of sea/ocean-based city, perhaps a city situated on a chain of islands or even the city itself just floating on the surface of the ocean. I really like this idea but the main conundrum I'm having right now is the colour scheme itself, something that feels suitably sea/ocean-based in style and colour but also not too similar to my Lumineth colour scheme which is white and blue. The more I think about it the more I really like the idea, just need to sort out this colour scheme issue.
  24. I feel your pain! I'm torn between Living City, Lethis and Misthavn. I was settled on Living City for a while since it would fit with my Sylvaneth and Hallowed Knights (and it's just a nice colour scheme in general) but both Lethis and Misthavn look annoyingly good as well so it's still up in the air a bit.
  25. Ooo that bukavac looks very much like something I can picture FEC having design-wise and yeah it would probably be for the best if they didn't play into the common misrepresentation that the wendigo get's a lot of these days.
