Design Changes You'd Like to See in AoS
JackStreicher replied to OkayestDM's topic in Age of Sigmar Discussions
More customizations for heroes, units and a campaign System for Path to Glory (it's a great foundation atm, however it's hollow and somewhat unused potential) -
Because fun doesn’t matter, only winning does - welcome to the competitive scene!
-
Now I am confused. I could swear that I‘ve already seen the new Centigors on the web and they looked ace. Yet I can’t find the source or remember some details some kind of mandela effect?
-
New chaos Marauders
-
Different topic: Was there any other new Chaos Model (apart from the Lord on D. Mount) that isn’t up for sale yet?
-
Don‘t be fooled: He‘s not

Simply use the content of the new box (should be around 1000 points) On a different note: Has any Armybuilder tool been updated yet?

First off: Very well written and structured comment! I agree. All the competetive gaming has always felt to me like it was not what the game is supposed to be. Back in the day my brother and I even made at least thematic Tournament Lists and everything was more relaxed (whf). All that would be required is a crude balance so no unit escalates too much and every unit becomes useful. Nowadays everything feels hyper competetive and thus ignoring anything that’s not the matched play rules. The game loses so much potential. It‘s a pitty really.

Henceforth rend shall be added to each weapon of the demonic prince. The damage capabilities of each weapon shall be doubled. increase the points of said prince by 25. That‘s how we‘ll play him if I‘ll try a AoS game anytime soon. (No need to stick to GW‘s warscrolls if they clearly messed them up). it feels to me like we as a community should more often fix the game to be more enjoyable.

GMG showed it and it’s basically unchanged

Haha! I‘ve already build my DP! I can only agree about the Chosen: Mold line removal is super easy, they don’t consist of too many parts either. To fix the banner situation I‘ll attack one cloth-less banner to the bag of one of them and maybe attach a Bloodreaver horn to the belt of another. I haven’t build the Theridons yet, but I am looking forward to it!

True, but it’s not the point. He is very different to his Lore. This guy should punch twice as hard as a normal chaos Lord while flinging magic and mayhem. The 40K Warscroll is a hundred times more potent than this one. It feels to me like the DP is suffering from the Vampire Lord syndrome: Should be a powerful being, surpassing any mortal - but that was scrapped in fervor of being a support hero with lackluster melee capabilities.

Design Changes You'd Like to See in AoS

- Mortal wounds are changed to rend -3 attacks that ignore modifiers to the save - One always saves any kind of damage (also mortal wounds) on a 6+, unless your save value is '-' - armour can‘t be improved beyond 3+ - A comeback of cards for magic - Reduced lethality (all the 2+, 2+ shenanigans have to stop) - More negative modifiers to shooting - Miscasts removed - Units can only be affected by a single external effect (ability, command etc.) during a battle round (self-buffs from the Warscroll excluded)- heavily reduced wombo-combos - No save stacking. With most of these points I‘ll be pretty alone —— overall: Make it more casual, less feel bad and clunky. -
I agree. They could basically fill one page per subspecies of infantry Stormcasts: Knights - Choose specialisation name and get 1-2 abilities. Weapon freely choosable (conversions! Wuhuuu) Lord - The same
-
The issue with labeling ways to play anything else than „matched play“ is that most people won’t play it since matched play is used gor pickup games and the likes. That’s why making matched play itself more casual is important. After that add a specific mode for Tournament Play. Imo it’s way less likely everyone will play tournament play as a standard.

KO could use Gyrocopters: Small ships steered by a single dwarf.

I‘ve just watched the latest wh+ Battle Report. It highlights most of the issues I have with the current AoS: - Roughly 50% of all damage consisted of Mortal Wounds - Battle Tactics -Lethality: Almost every unit evaporated in an instant the moment some other unit did as much as glare at it. - Annoyi g special rules: To me it felt like Lumineth were cheating due to the amount of special rules and the way the special rules work (it’s not about the power, but the nasty way they impact the game): Whenever the Chaos Player showed one special rule the Lumineth player pulled 2-3 out of his sleeve. Everytime they showed another LRL rule I just went „eyes rolling“ of course they do. (personal bias probably). I did not enjoy that battle report at all. A little off topic: The new S2D book seems mostly amazing, one of the few bad things (as proven in the video) is the Daemon Prince 👌🏻 A chaos Lord rose to the rarest of ranks just to be worse in melee. 🤣 imo AoS needs matched play for casual pickup games. And a new ruleset called Tournament play for the comp. players.

I partially agree. However: I still love my models and I can use them for One Page Rules etc. I am not dependent on GW

I feel you. Due to total war warhammer 2 I modelled Tzeentch Chaos Warrior Helmets for 3D printing and gifted the file to some people. Turns out Tzeentch is hot trash now (novody can stop me oaibting slightly blue armour though! )
