  1. Grimhailer is easy-to-build - and presumably GW's intention with him (and Aventis) is to provide an accessible gateway drug for centrepiece characters, so they may have knocked the price down even more to encourage that
  2. I'd imagine one of the goals of the easy-build kits is to keep things simple - a head swap is one thing, but the idea that a kit can be built in two different ways entirely is probably a step too far. Also probably helps keep the set cheap to have less going on, which also seems to be one of the aims. I think she looks generic enough for it not to be an issue - you can just use her as a generic Lord-Arcanum anyway.
  3. I can answer this, at least - Solbright is an easy-to-build kit, so presumably couldn't have multiple possible builds.
  4. Are there any allies you guys think make sense for Stormcast in the new edition, or are you still mostly better off sticking just to their own units?
  5. If anyone's curious what a Knight-Incantor built from that set looks like, there is one in the Battletome - he's painted up in the Celestial Warbringers colour scheme. I'll post a pic tonight if people want.
  6. Next week's Stormcast preorders have been announced: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2018/07/08/coming-next-week-heroes-old-and-new/ Interesting tidbit - you can make a Knight-Incantor from the Evocator box (I'd been wondering about this, as there's a Knight-Incantor model in the Battletome that I'd never seen before). Bit awkward, though, as presumably that then leaves you with four Evocators - though at least two of those can go towards getting your starter set Evocators up to full size...
  7. Yeah I had the same problem with shoulder pad gaps. It's a clever kit but I think overall the models coming in two halves is just asking for trouble with those shoulder pads. Bit disappointing but gives me a reason to learn how to use liquid green stuff! Will be interested to see what you're able to convert out of the Soul Wars kit... I've left all my 'spare' models on the sprue (the extra Sequitors, the pretty useless Prime with mace and shield, and the two leftover Castigators... in retrospect I should have left the Evocators on there too, oh well) and I'm keeping my eyes open for good ideas for stuff to do with them!
  8. A thought that only just occurred to me: Castigators are only going to exist as part of the starter set and in their easy-to-build box, aren't they? And that's why they come in units of three. I'd just been assuming a multi-part kit was coming for them, but I'm now realising probably not. Apologies if this was already blatantly obvious to everyone else
  9. It's an Evocator prime, as seen here. Lovely model!
  10. We've not seen what this guy is yet, at least - unless he's just a new weapon option for Lord Ordinators
  11. What this article is saying is that you'd just pick one of the existing Stormhosts and use their rules, not that you'd create your own pick-and-mix style. So if you're playing a Stormhost that doesn't have rules, but fluff-wise is really aggressive and hates Chaos, you'd use the the rules for Celestial Vindicators. Which seems to confirm the opposite of what you're saying, that there aren't any rules for making your own Stormhost from scratch. To be honest, I think that's probably for the best - rules for things like that are a fun idea, but in practice they tend to mostly just encourage weird min-maxing.
  12. Basically the same as the Idoneth Deepkin Conclave rules. This very much seems to be the template going forward. Looks cool to me, though I'm not 100% convinced by the idea of the leader having to have a set magic weapon - that seems a little odd lore-wise. Either each Stormhost has loads of copies of the same magic weapon, or they all take turns sharing one?
  13. Despite how much they've been teasing the new elf armies, and how well they'd fit into the Soul Wars, it seems like they have to be a long way off - just because stuff like Moonclan, Slaanesh, etc is rumoured to be coming first.
  14. If you scroll through the pictures here, you'll see some of the other Sacrosanct units. It seems like it's a full army in its own right, rather than just a few more units for Stormcast https://aosshorts.com/sacrosanct-chamber-stormcast-eternals/
  15. Yeah I chatted to the manager of my local yesterday and he said the same - he happened to be planning out the month's orders and events on a chart as I walked in and he reckoned it was the only way the schedule made sense (though I think he said the 29th rather than the 30th). He actually said he'd been told not to book any holiday in those weeks! So it seems 99% certain to me.
  16. Tomb Kings is definitely a stretch... it seemed pretty clear to me that it's referencing Nagash. As bsharitt says, it's the recruitment of a Knight Of Shrouds, lines up exactly with the lore for those guys.
