  1. Thank you for the suggestion. I shall try this now! What I built today: Trying to get all of my christmas stuff built except the Wyldwood before Saturday to prime everything over the weekend. Not sure if I'm actually going to paint any of it this weekend, but it never hurts to have choices :). I have three boxes of Spite-Revs left to build. Also will be ordering all of the basing material I'll require for my Sylvaneth and Deepkin bases. I'll be aiming to improve my method of water bases, adding waves and what not. For Sylvaneth, I've got some ideas for a variety of cool bases for my seasonal warbands within the greater army. We shall see!
  2. Hmm, you think so? I'm trying to imagine it finished with that coat, but am having a hard time envisioning it. How would you proceed if that was the look you were going for? My plan (which could change), was to make the skin grayish-white, like the previous eel, with the color accents in the shadows and on the fins. Still, would be interested to hear your opinion on it. Would be fun to try your suggestion.
  3. So, I've almost acquired about all the options I need to experiment with a few Sylvaneth lists. Aiming for the Spite Horde to bulk out the battleline. Could use some advice on two lists I'm wanting experimenting with: Winterleaf Glade Spirit of Durthu: My heart is ice, Ghyrstrike Drycha: Regrowth Arch-Revenant: Frozen Kernal Outcast Battalion Spites 20x Spites 20x Spites 15x Kurnoth Hunters w Greatswords Kurnoth Hunters w/ Scythes Kurnoth Hunters w/ scythes 2000 / 2000 Gnarlroot Glade Allarielle Everqueen Summon: Kurnoth Hunters w/ Bows TLA: Nurtured by magic, chalice of Nectar, treesong Arch-Rev: Ghyrstrike Outcast Batallion 20x Spite Revs 15x Spite Revs 10x Spite Revs Kurnoth Hunters w/ bows Kurnoth Hunters w/ bows Vengeful Skullroot endless spell
  4. This month I pledge to finish: Volturnos...WIP 13 more Spite Revenants...WIP Drycha Hamadreth 2 Morrsar Guard 3 or more Namarti Reavers ...build a whole bunch of models lol Volturnos and Spite Revs just need a few more steps before they've reached a good standard. Drycha and one of the Morrsar Guard I've somewhat started on. So, we'll see what happens ๐Ÿ˜.
  5. Holidays are near at an end. For me there is more work to do more than ever now, haha. Great haul for me, got more than I ever expected this year!
  6. Volturnos progresses further! Still a couple things that need changing / more definition. But I like him in his current phase so far .
  7. Thank you, Red King, had to admit I was uncertain with the color choice. As you said, it runs the risk of being a strange mish-mash of colors. I think I've actually seen a coral sylvaneth army on facebook before, and it looked out of this world! I would totally play the Alliance of Wood and Sea if it had better rules in it. Maybe next tome lol. The Dreaming Wood in Athel Loren from Warhammer Fantasy is what inspired these guys for me, haha. It'll only apply to the outcasts though. I'm trying to represent the four seasons with my sylvaneth, like they're a confederation of clans fighting together. The outcasts are going to be given winter bases to represent that season.
  8. Progress coming along with Volturnos! Washes still drying on the spites. No highlights yet. 18 Spites with their wood based, 4 at stage 2 (washes), Drycha still undergoing basing. Progress on the Spites continue! Awakened Wyldwood (or a piece of one) Stage 2 - 3 Stage 2 on the Spites!
  9. WIPs I'm working on: I don't think the color of the wood is really fitting the Spites and the bad-vibes they have. Might try purple on the wood๐Ÿ™‚.
  10. Finally got an opportunity to prime a bunch of stuff. More Sylvaneth, Volturnos, some Drukhari, and a random Saint Celestine :).
  11. A question: are we supposed to save our finished models for the month till the end of the contract? Or do we just continue to post as we progress through our pledges?
  12. Guess I'll start this off with a work-in-progress :). I might have to change my pledge to focusing on my Akhelian Guard. They're becoming less frustrating as I'm hewing out a standard procedure on how to paint them :). Trying to figure out whether I should use a pattern or just highlight the skin and forego the pattern.
  13. I think that is gorgeous, Sonnenspeer! I've basically done the same thing about the howdah that sits on the Leviadon. It's been a couple months in my case though, before I finally started to work on it lol.
  14. I shall pledge to finish this month (but do not promise ๐Ÿ˜‹ - Finish the last 3 Namarti I need to complete a squad of 10. - Finish the remaining 2 Akhelians for my first squad of Morrsar Guard. - 10x Spite-Revenants - Drycha Hamedreth I'm going to try to improve my paint hours by shortening the length of my few painting sessions, and increasing the consistency of which I paint over each week. Hoping to get a good bulk of Sylvaneth primed tomorrow.
  15. I've actually watched a stripping comparison video by Goobertown Hobbies, and I think I know just the stuff to use to strip these models with minimal damage :). We'll see. The Reavers prepare for the hunt! Soon... they'll be ready.
  16. Hi Vasshpit, I've actually been considering what you suggested over the last couple of days, as others have suggested this as well. I believe I will try and save them๐Ÿ˜€, but I've never had much luck trying to strip anything. But I guess that depends on what's being used for the stripping process, and this time I'm more informed. Hope to do this soon!
