    As I recall there was a lot of concern when the Skaven warscrolls were released as well, saying they were vastly underpowered. Who knows how things will turn out when we have all the pieces? I want to play Norsca rather than Warriors of Chaos so I'm excited to field a Marauder/Cultist force. With the Warqueen, Chieftain, and Warcry bands I can finally play a force that I feel captures what I want better than I could with the WFB Warriors army. This is the Chaos I've always wanted to play! Can't wait to see what Spire Tyrants are like!

    Good news, they mention the Soul Grinder specifically in the Community post! Looks like we'll be able to use them as part of StD, which is fantastic!

    I'm all about Ravagers! All over them! Interestingly, being able to summon 10-person Cultist means the Cultist unit sizes might have to change from the 8-and 9-person sizes we have currently. Or maybe not?

    Saves me a little bit of a headache finding or converting a daemon princess who looks like she reasonably transformed from my Warqueen.

    That was weird. Anyway, as I was tryig to say, what if Spire Tyrants go up for pre-order next weekend? It would be approriate that there would be an article on the Varanspire in the Community site. Plus, we don't actually see Spire Tyrants on the leaked December release list, right?

    It's Katakros and his Ossiarch legions. There's some mention of him marching on the Shyishian half of the Allpoints' realmgate in their battletome.

    Hmm, that's a possibility. Wouldn't be much value for people collecting the Warcry groups for Slave to Darkness, however.

    Yeah, I edited my post with further thoughts of what I think might have been the case though I'll admit the idea that it got deleted by accident didn't occur to me. Also I forgot to mention I agree with you though regarding monsters. I get that Beasts has typically been considered by GW the "monsters faction" but I'd like to have some choices as well without having to ally. I hope Soulgrinders stay, though I suspect they might be removed.

    Oh, I could have sworn... well, in that case it makes perfect sense for the Slaughterbrute to be in Slaves to Darkness. In retrospect I think I must have misunderstood this Warhammer Community post: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/04/08/vortex-and-slaughter-the-beasts-are-back/ That probably relates to the warscroll to which you were referring. If Slaves to Darkness is able to be allied in (or more likely given the keyword of) god-specific factions, it makes sense that there'd be no need for a specific Slaughterbrute or Mutalith warscroll which lets them become a part of Khorne or Tzeentch. Though oddly, the Mutalith is still listed in the Disciples section of the app. Interesting times. I don't know that I'd use a 'brute but I like that it'll be part of the army.

    GW: "He's on to us! How did he guess?" Isn't the Slaughterbrute in the Blades of Khorne tome as well? I wonder what other cross-tome critters we could get. Chimera? Cockatrices?

    Right? I'm so curious to know how the warbands will be implemented in the book. I want to pick up some Warcry models but I'm hesitant to do so yet. Who am I kidding, I still want to get them just to paint at the very least! Anything past that is just gravy!

    I'd be beyond surprised if the Warqueen was removed. I hope the Chieftain remains, since I have an Avatars of War model I want to use as one.

    They were leaked in a list of releases a while ago. There's no confirmation as of yet, though it bears mentioning that the release list predicted the Slaves to Darkness release well before it was officially announced.

    Have they said whether or not Undivided will be an option?

    I wonder if we'll keep the Darkoath chieftain. The Knight-Questor and Doomseeker remained while the Excelsis Warpriest was dropped (and no faction uses the Mistweaver or Shard).

    Oh, like if the general has a certain Mark they can take units from the corresponding tome. That would be awesome.

    Well, obviously. But I'm curious to know how they fare in Slaves to Darkness as of now. Maybe I can get some games in before the book drops in a month and a half.

    Can anyone tell me how the Warcry warbands are in AoS? I've heard so pretty variable accounts of their usefulness but I definitely want to get and field them.
