Sleboda
The Wood Elf Compendium lists a whole lot of models. Your old collection is still valid. Yay! So you play a few Open games with them and then along comes the Order book and the Generals Handbook and you get factions and points. Hmm, what to do? At least that's where I find myself after my buddy has returned to the hobby (yay again!). He's playing with a treelord ancient, a dude on dragon (dang, that's a powerful combo!), 10 glade riders and 10 glade guard. Is that a legal Wood Elf army? If so, why? Double Misfire
Yes, it is at vanguard (1000 point) level for matched play if you drop two Glade Riders as eight is the unit's minimum size requirement and what you buy them in blocks of for matched play. The army comes to 960 points total, and both Glade Guard and Glade Riders are batteline choices with no allegiance requirement.
Sleboda
Ah, yeah. Eight. My bad. How come it's legal? Where is the second Wood Elf battleline unit? Is it just that there really is no "Wood Elf" army exactly and what he is really doing is a mostly focused Order army?
