PessJerk
Trying to figure out what wizard would be good to put into my stormcast list for an upcoming event. Going for a semi competitive list. But more for fun. Playing a stardrake because pretty. Sent from my SM-N920I using Tapatalk
hellalugosi
Battlemage is always a safe bet. I've been running The Mistweaver Saih, she's great for an 80 pt model, and her mist form save really bolsters her survival ability, giving her a 1+ save(or 2+ in matched play because of the rule of one) once per turn when targeted for an attack. Couple that with an 8" move, and you've got good support. Her 24" unique spell is great even against average 6 value bravery units. The skink starpriest is also a great wiz to throw -1 to hit against a unit you hate. (Megaboss)
MrCharisma
Depends on your playing style. I run with a Battlemage with Lifesurge or Wildform...
Immersturm
Only ever ran life. I suppose what matters is whether you want to save points or make the unit tougher. At the end of the way, everyone has Mystic Shield. If you are running Stardrake, Life Wiz might be best though to keep it up and running.
kozokus
If you are running units of 4+ Dracoths, i recommand using the Wildform.
PessJerk
Alright awesome. Now just to source one of these and get it painted. Is there any other wizards out there. Sent from my SM-N920I using Tapatalk
Immersturm
There is plenty. You need to know what you want the wizard for and choose accordingly. Simply check the Warscrolls online and see which effect suits your needs. There is no cookie cutter here, seeing as they all have their own spells. RossMHoward
Battlemage for sure. Wildform can buff +1 to wound in combat which can give units great combat potential. Especially given that you're playing a small and elite army, the extra buff is fantastic. Also if you run protectors, proccing Deathstrike on a 5 or a 6 can be huge. Miasma is great against armies that generate bonuses on 6+ to hit etc. Your Letterbombs, Shock Gauntlet Stormfiends, Executioners and fellow Retributors get a severe debuff from this. Wildform isn't great for units, because you only have a max of 2, 3, 5 wounds across the board so the d3 heal might not always be useful. But the 6+ ward save is pretty great. Light of Battle is essentially another free Immune to Battleshock ability, but Stormcast never struggle too much with this. But the most important rule the Battlemage has is that you choose which spell he knows during deployment. So he's a versatile tool with spells who can be tailored to the army you're facing. chord
If you have a hero with lots of attacks I recommend the loremaster. You get to re-roll all failed hit and wound roles. It also has a casting value of
