ZephyrExia
Hello all, Just wondering if anyone has any tips to getting a cool (temperature) armour colour similar to the Howling banshee in the DoW3 trailer. Any ideas on the paints I might need? Cheers! (Also, my apologies for a non-Aos image but I'm going to test it out on a few one-off AoS models)
CoffeeGrunt
Looks like a mid-grey highlighted up to almost white, rather than a bone colour per se. The texture will be the tricky part to pull off, though.
Turragor
Looks borderline metallic. It's a dark grey/green blue in the deepest shadws up to an off white. Goes through cool greys. If you test this (GW paints to try to pin down the tones) it might look similar: Celestra Grey Base Dilute stegadon scale green shade. Very dilute and paint into recesses direct. Kind of a wash Celestra Grey tidy up Ulthuan grey Pallid wych flesh White Scar
StoneMonk
I'm gonna buck the trend here, straight up thunderhawk blue base (the dark shadows are blue in this picture and work well on tabletop), and then drybrush/blend up to a blue/grey or even a purple/grey - then highlight with pallid wych or ulthuan grey. Barimbino
Something you might want to try to get the texture of the armour with your paint. You might want to try and dry-brush the model very very lightly. I'd do a heavy dry-brush with the base colors and then add lighter highlights after that. And if you do try this I'd say swipe the brush from different directions so that your brush strokes aren't all flowing the same way. Something maybe just to test out.
