Dogmantra
What have you played against him so far? What do you have available to you? What are you finding specifically difficult to deal with about Kharadron Overlords? Do you remember any games where you've done better and why that might have been? SoSoCho
Last match I played: bastian, drakesworn, solbright, arcanum, 10x vindictors (2x5), 5 vanquisher, 3x2 Annihilators,. 3x praetors. I had issues taking down his heroes and ironclad. My stardrake died almost before he had a chance to do anything. That is generally the problem I get shot down too fast. I also tried a shooting list but same problem. They died even faster hehe. I am up for suggestions I could try out regarding list (il go and buy what I need). You’ll take as many rattling gun weapon teams into your list and ask your opponent the following question. which rattling gun do you want to kill this thrn😂

It seems that he plays some type of alpha-strike. Kharadron plays like a specialist army, they don't have over-the top damage unless they build for it, but in doing so, they become weaker in another side of the game. Their main weakness are AoE dmg (if there is a ship in the area, you will probably hit 3 to 4 units), mortal wounds (they don't have high number of wounds and mw ignore Hit and Save, our main defense while embarked) and their heroes (they buff a lot). My first advice is to kill his/her General (aka, Admiral) because killing him cuts a lot of CPs and stops Fly High/Disembark commands in the same phase (footnote, KO need an Admiral for the combo). If you kill him before using his Rounds, bye, bye to once-per-game -1 rend for their shooting attacks. If the Admiral has Stormcaller, his Navigator will not be as reliable as before when he/she slows your army. My second advice is to look for his/her subfactions and what heroes he/she brings: If it's Barak-nar, look for Brokk, killing him will remove a lot of dmg. If it's Zilfin, prepare for an alpha-strike and probably 1 drop. If it's Barak-Zon, you will need armor and probably a counter-charge (no need to fall from the sky, look to trade units). If he/she has a lot of Thunderers+Khemist, expect one high damage turn if the admiral is still alive. Probably an alpha-strike. Give him/her some units to kill (weapons have 18" range and they will be 6" away if they disembark, or 9" away with Spell in The Bottle + Bridge). My third advise is to look for his/her artifact carrier, it will tell hos/her strategy. If it's an artifact designed to alpha-strike (spell in the bottle or celestium-burst grenade), put as much space as you can between your units and give him/her more than one target to focus (KOs can't split damage, but expect to remove the target), and wait for your counter-punch. If it's a voidstone or the Phosphorite Bomblets, bait his/her free unbind or just kill the carrier before he uses it. I'm not a Stormcast Expert, but anything like Thundershock spell (Thunderers will wound you on 5+), Chain Lightning, Annihilators (blazing impact and force of the falling skies, remove the admiral or any other hero before they unleash hell), Blaze of Glory (again, target the dudes on the ships, mainly Brokk, Admiral, Khemist), any Draconith/Stormdrake breath, Everblaze Comet, etc... will be good. I hope that it helps! Edited April 8 by Beliman
Dogmantra
Beliman gives some excellent advice. Here are my thoughts as a mostly SCE player: Mirrorshield is a must. Putting it onto your Stardrake will force your opponent to either get in really close or shoot something else. Setting up in the heavens is going to be your saviour. If you're not on the board, you can't be alpha-struck. Annihilators seem like a good pick here, since they do so many MWs and can hit pretty hard, just make sure you have a Lord Imperatant that you can keep safe (top tip! you can set the Imperatant up in the heavens too, and as long as you drop him first, you can use his special rule to drop the annihilators closer) Beliman mentioned area MWs - the Celestant Prime is incredibly good at this. Each turn, automatic d3 MWs to everything within a 3" radius of your choice. You can play him in different ways, for this matchup I'd drop him turn 1 to make the most of his MW bomb and only go into melee with stragglers to mop them up. Go for as few drops as possible, ideally 1 drop. If you can force the KO player to take turn 1, he might do some damage to you with shooting but everything important will be off-board in the heavens, and you have the chance to double turn him. The stormstrike chariot might be worth looking at - they are mobile, tough, pretty cheap points wise, and they have the same impact mortal wounds that annihilators have. That gives you the same chance to pick off heroes embarked in ships, or just take the ships down a notch. Other thoughts maybe in the future as I ruminate more, but these are my immediate ideas. Oh, Bastian also does seem like he'd be good to keep. He's very tough, and doing 3-ish MWs for free to the Ironclad every hero phase is pretty great, especially if you roll hot and do more like 5 or 6. SoSoCho
Ty for your advice i totally forgot the Lord Imeratant il bring him next time. Maybe skip Solbright and Arcanum. Didnt really do much tbh, only there to drop the everblaze comet
Hannibal
You can also use the guy with meteoric standard for even more MW output. Or the trumpet bearing hero. Then there is the luckstone (an artifact), which guarantees a charge roll. Put it on your Drakesworn, deepstrike and go in for the kill.
