Chaos Talisman - Chaos Artefact

Looking at the Chaos Talisman on pg161 of the General's Handbook, am I right in thinking it doesn't work on mortal wounds? Also against Order does it work on a 5 and not a 6 because it doesn't say 6 or more?

I've not got the actual rules in front of me but it will save against mortal wounds, against order it will be a 5 or 6.

I think RaW  it will only save against normal wounds (not mortal wounds) given that they are a separate thing and are not stated in the rules block. Rules in other places which mitigate mortal wounds all explicitly state so.

as far as the saves against order I think RaI it would save against order on a 5+ but RaW it would only save on a roll of a 5 (as 5+1=6) sadly doesn't seem to be a FAQ or errata correcting the phrase of the rule. Personally I would play it as 5+ and I think most would, but may hit issues if you face a rules lawyer.

Yes - it's only vs regular wounds. Conversely the Destruction equivalent is only against mortal wounds.

5+ vs Order. Either it's a typo or it's optional, you may add to the fives and may choose not to add to the sixes.
