Placing Sylvaneth Woods

Hello. I have a discussion with a friend about the correct placement of the woods because of the new General's and the new Sylvaneth Battletome contradicts each other. So the question is, wich are the correct restrictions to put a wood in the table? At 3" of other terrain feature? At 1"?

You can certainly apply both restrictions at the same time. No need to just use one publication.

So new FAQ came out for Sylvaneth and answers the question.

Q: Does an Awakened Wyldwood that is set up during a battle follow the same restrictions as faction terrain that is set up before the battle begins in the General’s Handbook 2019?

A: No. The rules in the General’s Handbook 2019 for setting up faction terrain only apply to faction terrain that is set up before the battle begins. For an Awakened Wyldwood that is set up during a battle, follow the restrictions for setting up that Awakened Wyldwood as they appear in the ability you are using.

 

So follow the GHB for setting up the woods before the battle and then the battletome for after the battle begins when using spells and abilities

Always use the most recent publication of rules. Since the Battletome is newer you can use the setup rules in there until they put out an FAQ to clarify if the GHB overrides them or not.
