Melcavuk Posted July 1, 2019 Share Posted July 1, 2019 (edited) In my time Sigmar-ing I've been back and forth to Stormcast a number of times, they have a huge range of models and coupled with the marine kits of 40k have an amazing array of components that can be combined into new and interesting conversions. Yet for all my attempts i have yet to find that one theme to them that I love enough to expand beyond a fledgling host. So as I look to them once more, heres some idea of the paths I have trodden with them in the past: Original Golden Boys: Spoiler Anvils of Helden Hammer: Spoiler Sentinels of Jotungard Spoiler However this time I am looking at them slightly differently, instead of pushing them forward taking them right back to their point of origin, to the Progenitor Hosts in a time before memory, long since robbed from record and waking thought by the very penumberal engines that sought to guard their battlefields. To the days when cracks in reality begun to emerge and the essense of chaos could be felt rippling through, the original hosts, still fledgling in design and imperfect in nature, clad far more for battle than for angellic resonnance were dispatched to these voids, that they might do battle with the forces of chaos. Around them the great stormvaults were built, sealing these valiant few away from the world and chaos within an assumably impenetrable crypt, hidden from thought and memory by the corrupted Penumberal Engines to mask how close Sigmar had come to being caught unprepared. Those sealed within could hold no hope for reforging, and day by day the very engines that hid their presence robbed them of memory. No aid was to come, as the very idea of their existance began to fade even from the mind of the God that had set them to task. Are you unsure of it or wanted something else but it didn’t work with your mental picture of the scheme? Also, I’ve been looking high and low for some alternate hammer designs for my own Stormcast. I’ve found plenty of swords, and the occasional axe which would work but nice sized hammers seem to be scarcer, did you sculpt your own or is that a bit from another kit (something 40k-ish perhaps?)?
