GlitzFan
If my unit if 5 models are standing in a wyldwood they get cover bonus. But if my 5 units are all standing bases to against the loonshrine do they also get the bonus? Technicallythey aren't within the terrain, they are next to it. There is another rule called "obstacle" It does only count against shooting but if all models are within 1" of the Loonshrine and the enemy unit is closer to the runeshrine that to the unit next to the runeshrine (so the shrine is between the shooting unit and the unit in 1" to the shrine), but it gives cover in that case. Rules Page 10, Terrain, Obstacles Quote OBSTACLES Some terrain features are obstacles that block attacks to targets that lie beyond them. When this is the case, it will be noted on the warscroll for the terrain feature. When a missile weapon targets an enemy unit that has all of its models within 1" of an obstacle, then the target unit receives the benefit of cover if the attacking model is closer to the obstacle than it is to the target unit. The Terrain Warscroll state this in the Description with the following sentences: "It is an obstacle" "A set of xxx is an obstacle"
-1 King Taloren
It depends on if the terrain has cover or not. The warscroll will say it provides or it is something you agreed to with your opponent. Check what the rules say for terrain pieces or work with your opponent on what you are going to do with each piece.
