Keyword darkoath warqueen

Fluxlord

Question

I just bought the darkoath warqueen and noticed it had the slaves of darkness keyword, which i suspected, but it doesnt have the mark of chaos ability that for example the chaos warriors have. Does this mean i have to take her as an allie instead of giving her Nurgle keyword for example?

and does this now mean i cant use the Nurgle buffs from commanders and the contagion wheel.

thx in advance

Yes. She is a faction model in a Slaves to Darkness Army, but an ally in a Godkeyword army because she doesn't have the keyword (and can't profit from abilites where she doesn't have the keyword for).

She can't have a keyword, but neither does she count as an ally. As per the malign portents rules any of the four heralds can be taken in an army allegiance without it counting towards the ally limits. So for example, the war queen can be included in a nurgle list and you can still have 400 points of allies on top of that.

Thats not quite correct.

Yeah this abomination of a Errata allows her to be general, but she still count towards the points of allies if she doesn't have the keyword (see the last sentence I marked blue).

‘The ‘Harbingers of the Malign Portents’ rule explains
how to use Lord-Ordinators, Darkoath Warqueens,
Knights of Shrouds and Fungoid Cave-Shamans in
games of Warhammer Age of Sigmar which use the
Malign Portents rules. The following rule can be used
by players who wish to use these models in their armies
in open, narrative or matched play games not using the
Malign Portents rules.
Lord-Ordinators, Darkoath Warqueens, Knights of
Shrouds and Fungoid Cave-Shamans can be included
in any army that shares their Grand Alliance keyword.
They are not treated as part of the player’s army for
the purposes of defining its allegiance and what
allegiance abilities it qualifies for.
Lord-Ordinators, Darkoath Warqueens, Knights of
Shrouds and Fungoid Cave-Shamans can be given a
command trait or artefact of power if they share the
keyword of that army’s allegiance. However, a Lord-
Ordinator, Darkoath Warqueen, Knight of Shrouds
or Fungoid Cave-Shaman can be chosen as the army’s
general even if they do not share the keyword of that
army’s allegiance.
In a Pitched Battle game, the points cost of any Lord-
Ordinator, Darkoath Warqueen, Knight of Shrouds
or Fungoid Cave-Shaman counts against the points
allowance for allied units unless they share the same
keyword as the army’s allegiance.’
