Soulsmith's Collective Painting etc.

Hey there all. Decided that, since I am being relatively project hoppy, that I would stick everything in one place instead of having a multitude of plogs. So expect a whole mix, Destruction, Chaos of multiple flavours (nurgle's got me in his clutches, but tzeentch always has plans). Also starting to work commission so I'll post those here as well. To start off, there is nothing better than a quick Warhammer World Trip!
5 miscreants and myself made the trip to Notts for a 2v2v2 brawl on the Gatehouse of Numas. Take and hold style quick whip up scenario. Destruction (with some Dark Aelf allies) vs Chaos vs Death. Ended with destruction hanging onto the objective, chaos being too hesitant!

Fantastic table I must say! Was a nostalgia pick for me, as I remember guides on how they built it in white dwarf when tomb kings came out in plastics!

Anyone onto more current work. Recently grabbed the poxy half of blightwar with a friend, giving me those beautiful nurgle fellas. I made a 500 point army for end times purely because blightkings looked so great. Never showed them here as I took a hobby break until ironjawz came out (judging how AoS did is my excuse). They were my first after a more substantial hobby break, and looking back they look bad to me now :$. However, gives me a nice basis for a nurgle allegiance force, though now I want to replace my warriors with nurgle blood warriors! This hobby of ours is a monster.

For my new nurgle force, I am planning pale skin, with more controlled washes. Wounds will be red with innards picked out in purples. Wanting to practice with blues on the skins for more depth and contrast. Armour I am going to do a really dark rust after seeing someone's on instagram that was essentially drybrushing leadbelcher over black, then typhus, then spot of heavy typhus, then rust drybrush, leadbelcher drybrush. Will need some tests but curious to see how it comes out.

Also currently working through my first commission, which is 55 poxwalkers. Boy are these detailed! Customer only wants tabletop quality, so I've been bashing them out. 6 done to test different skin tones but majority will be grey skinned. These are on my instagram (link below) as I seem to have misplaced them on my pc :S

Anyway yes, sorry for the ramble, just going to collect everything here now!

Cooooool! I was checking that table out when I was there two weeks ago. So much fun to play on it, right?

Oh yes! Shame about all the knocks it has taken, needs a bit of love and attention. But a real beauty. I have nothing against the realm of battle or shattered dominion, but nice to play on a  real classic.

So I totally forgot to post this up here, but I finished off a diorama for my local GW competition. Didn't place I'm afraid (darn public votes) but I am happy, learnt a lot of new skills and materials, and worked out a nurgle scheme I liked! Also mine works as terrain too :D

Hey all. No modelling progress worth mentioning yet but did get my first couple of games in with the Nurgle force. First game was Scorched Earth against @Nick in York's Sylvaneth.

The lists were:

Horticulous Slimux

Herald of Nurgle

Rotbringer Sorceror

30 Plaguebearers

3 Plague Drones

5 Blightkings

2x3 Nurglings

5 Warriors

Fecund Rituaculturalists (ended up being utterly unused - probably wont run again)

Treelord Ancient

Spirit of Durthu

Branchwych

20 Dryads

3 Hunter - bows

3 Hunters - scythes

A solid blockage of plaguebearers on Durthu and a treelord ancient enabled me to sweep my plague drones around to contest then defeat the kurnoth archers, and my objective holders denied wood teleporters. Was a good game with a lot of lessons for us both.

Second match at 1k was against a friend's competitive DoT. Played Battle for the Pass.

Horticulous Slimux

Rotbringer Sorceror (Opponent allowed me to go 50 over)

30 Plaguebearers

5 Blightkings

3 Plague Drones

3 Nurglings

Lord of Change

Tzaangor Shaman

6 Skyfires

2x10 Marauders

Had an early move onto objectives, but a lack of disgustingly resilient had my blightkings sweeped off turn 1 by the skyfires, and the army got worn down. Continued plague drone damage and a final charge (last man standing too) by horticulous felled the Lord of Change, so moral victory ;) Overall a fun match, really happy with how the nurgle boys faired. Disgustingly Resilient is a fantastic little ability against the mortal wound meta, really looking forward to a future nurgle book to bring everything up to speed. Especially nurglings and blightkings, they really need that save! Definitely looking forward to really getting my teeth into painting this force, going to reward my commission efforts with hitting the nurglings first as they will be quick and rewarding, then onto the plageubearers. Really hope when I am done with my current collection we see a book drop with plastic beasts and GUO. Really feel the pain without strong heroes.

Oo boy, way too caught up using Instagram to track things. Thought I would send some pictures here of my latest stuff anyway. Here is my first finished harlequin (I know, not aos), and tonight I did horticulous' plant just for kicks. I'm doing a hobby streak, so anything hobby a day, usually a small paint session :) But my local GW is doing this years legion of legend imminently so I will be taking part in that, have to defend my title!
