Pile in

Tizianolol

Question

Hi all guys! My question is :

I MUST pile in or I CAN pile in?

yesterday I played a game with my sylvaneth army and my 10 dryads were charged into a wildwood. All my model were into wildwood so the unit was in cover. One turn later I could pile in but , making that move, 2 models leave the wildwood so the lost cover( is this correct?)

thx for answers:)

It's optional. "MAY pile in".

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but you also don't have to pile in the full distance either. Each model that moves just has to end closer to the nearest enemy model if it does move.

this is correct. Some creatures can pile in 6" and they certainly aren't forced to go the whole distance. You can even move laterally or wheel around a model, as long as you end the move closer to it.
