  1. I'm trying to remember what the Sylvaneth got last time around (I think it was the Bug Riders and Archers?) - I'd like to see something like that at minimum. That's a good point, I'm hesitant to hope for it as well.
  2. My wish-list is probably 2 new battleline/elite units, a model refresh for at least half the range, and 1-2 named heroes with the new tome. I had hoped it would be a summer release, but it's looking almost guaranteed that it'll be winter.
  3. The others look like great updates, but I agree on the baboons... I just don't see the place for them. I really hope they aren't going with a more "beastmen" aesthetic.
  4. Anyone have leaks/ideas on a new tome timeline (or new models, dare I dream)? I really like my old Gristlegore squad... but they just need help.
  5. Yes, stomp is a monstrous rampage now - so unfortunately limited to 1.
  6. Alarielle's new Lifebloom self-resurrect can only be attempted once per battle, correct? Or is it only able to succeed once per battle? The former makes it makes it a really swingy mechanic. Relevant text: "In addition, once per battle, at the end of your hero phase, if this unit has been destroyed, you can roll a dice and add the number of the current battle round to the roll. On a 6+, you can set up this unit on the battlefield wholly within 12" of an overgrown terrain feature, yadda yadda..."
  7. So 1 annoying thing I noticed about the new Tree Rev scroll is that the weapon options are no longer equal for the Scion - previously the glaive did double the damage of the blade, but the blade had double the attacks (balanced). Now, the glaive still does double the damage, but they both have the same 3 attacks... pretty disappointing for someone who modeled my Scions with blades.
  8. TLA remaining 1 cast/unbind is disappointing, but I think it was too much to expect that to change (although I hoped it would). Excited about regular Treelords being worthwhile, think I want to run several and see what they can do.
  9. No one is asking for them to "break the game", just to not have so many points wrapped up in defense. Of course it's hard to say without knowing points or the full scroll, but if they're truly a hit-and-run unit then they don't need 5W per model - they're going to run into the same issue Kurnoth Bows have... a little too much defensively, a little short offensively.
  10. Which unfortunately, have largely sat on shelves acquiring dust (in competitive). I'm going to be more optimistic on the internal balance and effect of these guys.
  11. Maybe I'm blind, but where are you seeing 5w per model? I wish they did more damage and had less life (to benefit their ASF rule), but I guess we have to wait for a full warscroll and points cost first.
  12. Yeah, I mainly just want giant trees as battleline.
  13. I think I'm most excited about 2 things: the potential battleline unlocks as you put it, and less reliance on having to litter the board with wyldwoods now with the new overgrown terrain rules. I would absolutely love to see regular Treemen become battleline somehow (although I know that's a longshot), but I would really like more flexible battleline options.
  14. Thinking like a rat, I like it. You'll do well.
  15. I think that's gonna be a really tough ask - everyone is going to be parting out the Skaven half for pennies if previous boxes are any indication. The Sylvaneth half is so crazy superior to the rat half it's a little mind-boggling that they decided to move forward with the matchup.
  16. So have I, but to be honest if they're all as bad as the Greatbow option then it might be a cursed wish. Hopefully the melee variants stay at least as effective as they have been (and hopefully get improved).
  17. Good points all around. Speaking of the long range holders, have we seen any info on the Kurnoth Bow points increase leading to a scroll revamp? I assume they're getting changes for a new tome.
  18. 12" range on the Archers is VERY disappointing. 215 points for 5 of them seems pretty heavily costed - but the potential for MW spikes is also crazy. Seems like a very swingy unit in terms of damage, but frail (as probably expected).
  19. I'm pretty hyped for the Ogroid Theridons - been a big fan of the Thaumaturge for years. Hope they're pointed competitively and not irrelevant right out of the gate! Any numbers on that? I'm not really seeing how they hit harder, they look to be roughly equal if they pop Savagery - curious if there's something I missed.
  20. Honestly I'd look for a SCE half of the Dominion box - great value and plenty of points to get started (I know it's a little more than you were looking to spend though).
  21. @Ormly Basically this sums it up perfectly - it's likely your friend doesn't realize he can't be doing all the things he's doing, but more importantly this is a situation where you really learn to screen your important units from the opposing threats. If he's investing so much into throwing a single GKoT across the board at you, learning how to minimize the impact will set you up pretty well to deal with the rest of the army. Don't feel too bad, this FEC strategy was pretty meta-dominating for a while until people really learned how to play around it (there were nerfs involved as well). Also Sylvaneth just seem to be weak to MWs in general - Durthu at least could take an Amulet of Destiny (meh) but Alarielle is in danger of getting 1-shot by mortals. They heal very well, but the trade off is being vulnerable to burst damage.
  22. Any more details? Was it a 5-0 win? How many attendees? I'm curious if the "SDG aren't even strong" people will finally move the goalposts to justify "win".
  23. Without the double turn, controlling the first turn becomes too powerful. Shooting/ranged becomes even stronger because you know the enemy can't pull the 1-2 (or 2-3) to come back from taking early losses, so they are always playing from behind. A lot more would have to be revamped to accommodate that change.
