  1. I'm glad khorne has poor summoning. Look at what happened to slaanesh. I think summoning armies have a worse army on the table because they have the points to account for units you can bring in later. Look what happened to pink horrors for example. They are insanely expensive.
  2. I have an exalted db for fearless, but for body blocking I either go 40 marauders or 10 warhounds. I feel like reavers are just used to unlock battalions right now. I could be wrong...
  3. So an update on my bloodreavers. They blow. They can do ok damage, so that went as planned, BUT I found in every game that I wished I had buffed other units. Games seem to move too fast to waste a round of buffs on blood reavers. Plus the reavers are still spotty despite the good stats. So I'm going to forget about em. I also tried out the godsworn hunt to use enfeeble to help out with survivability. I hadn't seen much use from them. Since it is an enemy debuff it has been hard to get in range and get the spell off. Not worth the points to me. Slaughterborn battalion still rocks, reapers still blow me away, Blood warriors have been doing work in 10 man squads. Just got to keep playing I guess.
  4. I think that's more than $800 of minis lol. I think that you need a very empty table to maneuver all those big models. I'm not sure of your aos experience, but (as dumb as this sounds) try cutting out all your based in paper and try shuffling them around a wargame table keeping "1 coherency in the units. Try putting up some other "enemy" units to charge. If you feel like you have room to maneuver and get good charges in then go for it. I'm worried you have too much mass though.
  5. edit for length and less feeling I agree reavers are bad and cannot hold. However I think the math has changed with refill wounds. You can get 30-40 3+ 4+ reroll -1 rend attacks for 70 points on a throw away unit. If you charge with them on your turn they should put out more than 70 points of damage. More then the used to do. The idea is to use them for something. All the buffs you use on them can be used on your slow skullreapers later. edit 2: I am Not suggesting dark feast, I am suggesting that there may be a way to get use out of reavers. Right now they are useless. I use chaos warhounds to screen, they cover way more board space for only a few more points.
  6. The base size is their biggest weakness. However I do like that they all have -1 rend. I guess you could try to pull something off with bloodletters if you want the rending. I've used reavers in the past and had little luck with them for over investing and expecting them to fight for 2 rounds. I'm going to toy with them and see where it goes. I think the nice thing is the whips, bloodsecrator and killing frenzy are units that will survive after the readers are gone and buff the second wave.
  7. You're absolutely right, I missed that they would be out of range of the blood stoker for the battalion buff. It at least makes the batallion or the command ability useless. You would have to do one or the other. I still think there is potential to amp up the meatripper axes, but I'm sorry that you can't take advantage of the speed too.
  8. The idea would be to suicide them, so they only need one turn of buffs. Buff them in the mass of your army, the send them out with the command ability. They move 15" if whipped and have a minimum 5" charge. That is a minimum of 20" I feel like it might be work as units of 10 or 20. They would roll out and cause trouble while the bulk of your slower force gets into position. However if the damage they deal is nothing special then it would be a bit of a waste. I've got a pile of things to try out this weekend, so I might as well try this out too.
  9. Has anyone had a chance to try out skulltake blood reavers or blood warriors yet? I feel like rerolling wounds on some juiced up reavers might grant a good number of 2 damage -1 rend attacks. I've gotten decent damage output from reavers in the past, so I feel like some killing frenzy reavers with reroll wounds might get a lot of benefit from skulltake. I feel like the reavers are attractive for their volume of attacks and rend. The low wound rolls mean they will be rerolling more fishing for sixes. Edit: Goretide skulltake reavers. You juice up unit 1, and throw them into as many enemy as possible, then next turn do it to unit 2 after the first unit is dead. I feel like you would still have a sizable force on the table and the reavers should have put down some good pain.
  10. I don't know man, I could probably produce a battletome that can curb stomp official release armies. That doesn't mean they're bad.
  11. I haven't tried it, but it seems like it would take up a ridiculous amount of board space and points. Seems like a lot for ablative glaive wounds
  12. I'm going to start seeing if there is something we can make that is comparable to witch elves using blood stokers. I don't want to try with reavers as they are bigger bases and worse stats than witch elves. Blood warriors might do the trick as they are more durable and get glaives. They are pretty comprable and man for man you can get the same attacks on them... But they cost twice as much as witch elves, so half the attacks for the points (you also pay a lot to get 4a warriors) and the bigger bases. Not sure if it can really be done, but I'm going to start thinking about it, then start playing it and see how it goes. If anyone gets some good ideas, please let me know so I can try them. edit: I just recognized we get reroll all hits from the warshrine and reroll all wounds from the stoker. This seems pretty key and important. I bet it will hype up mortals in ways I don't understand yet. That said it only has an effect on mortals. So no beastmen nor demons. Refill hit bulgors would be nice though.
  13. Has anyone tried playing multiple bloodstokers? I feel like they basically are a kind of death hag now passing out witchrew to the troops. I feel like there is probably some way to amp up a unit kind of like DoK since we have fat death hags.
  14. Lost speed because khorne is slow, slaanesh is fast bro. I personally think the designer absolutely intended for the mongers to affect all weapons.Like bone tentacles and fire breath and stuff. I think that maybe someone higher up on the team saw that the whole community pooped themselves at the chance of 2 shot cannons and killed it.
  15. I agree. The list I posted earlier seemed strong if I tweaked it a bit. I just didn't like the feel of it. I really didn't like the mongers just sunning themselves on the turf while the cannons shot twice. However I do think it had potential to be very strong and I may actually be really getting cocatrices to pack into my army now.
  16. Thank god. I hated the cannon thing. I can now just buy a bunch of cockatrices for more blood boil spam, because that is somehow thematically better to me ._. Sarcasm aside I really didn't like the cannons
  17. If you take mongers and a BS you get +2(!) attacks. Wowzers.
  18. I can post a photo of marauders on horse and foot when I get home. I'm fairly certain they are the same, but I can be 100% sure in a few hours.
  19. You could cut them before the elbow if you had gorefist arms. That would be more secure to glue them I think. I'm not sure if gorefist arms are out there for cheap though. Foot marauder shields might be cheaper and they are the same size if you go shields. edit: Gorefist arms are cheap on eBay right now!
  20. Too expensive, too slow, die to easily. I don't even like taking them in StD and they actually buff StDs. I think they cost 20 points less than skullreapers and only have -1 rend as an advantage where everything else is worse.
  21. I have found this to be true, but I really think we have units that can stand up on their own now. They just aren't as stellar as the old buffed versions. I think the mongers on cannons is doable, I just hate it for fluff reasons. I feel like our non priest buffers are a waste of points for the most part now. I think chaff and guns are our future. You can slingshot goretide warriors to sit on an objective or summon demons forward and bunker up at home to keep the big guns firing over verdun
  22. here's a list idea. Exalted db 5x Slaughter priest 2x40 marauders 5x bloodwarriors 5x mongers 3x skull cannons 2000 points For very little sacrifice you can actually take the throne and gorethunder for rr hits. Maybe more cannons the 80 marauders can me made fearless by the db. The skullreapers can take on horses and you just shoot the monsters and characters. The blood warriors are just a third battle line, but could camp an objective. I think this list really needs something to camp objectives besides marauders, probably don't need 5 slaughter priests... I'll probably give it a shot, I might be allowed to proxy the cannons and some priests.
  23. My problem with beasts are they are neither daemons nor mortals so there is very little benefit to bringing them. I thought bulgors with +1 to hit might be a smash, but the cost is too high.
  24. I think killing frenzy is better than reroll 1s, so you could replace the herald with the slaughterpriest you defiantly want in a mortal army. I'm going to try skullcannons here soon and see how it goes. Maybe I can proxy in dwarfs for my khorne from now on ;_; edit: Hey maybe if I want to play a cc army I can proxy fyreslayers with my khorne!
  25. I think you can hit the cannons with killing frenzy to hit on 2+. I feel lime more of a gunline army every day... Why not ally in some cocatrices while we are at it. What chaff do you think is best to protect our cannons and priests? Edit: What do you think the wrathmongers do while standing still in the back line? Do they pose? Do they yell at the cannons?
