  1. @Kaz I believe WOK's command ability specifies its used in the combat phase. Which means that only the shooting skull cannons do in that phase would be affected by it. Alternatively just drop a bloodmaster next to them. With killing frenzy they are 2+ rr 1s to hit. If you go back to Bloodlords they are 3+ rr1s to wound heros and monsters
  2. @Sleboda Is it your reading that our unbinds can only be used once per game? They almost universally say "# in the hero phase" as opposed to in each hero phase.
  3. So I was wondering about this. Demonic gifts are not a defined catagory in the battletome and that artefact does not have an actual written restrictions so RAW I believe you can give it to any hero.
  4. @Killax Thanks for the replies! So in that case a unit of wrathmongers can be daisy chained to buff multiple small units assuming the units are with 8" of at least one wrathmonger and (like you said) a unit of 30 bloodletters can be buffed using different wrathmonger models from the same unit to cover different sections.
  5. @Killax Sorry I may have phrased my question incorrectly. Do you run them in big untits or has msu worked fine for you. Do you find they need a buff baby sitter(so a bloodsecrator and/or wrathmonger with them as well as cannons?) A more general question. If I have a unit of wrathmongers, in order to benefit does the unit need to be wholly within 8" of 1 wrathmonger or is the unit fine as long as all parts are wholly within one of the members of the unit. (So lets say 10 are within 1 wrathmonger model and 5 are in another)
  6. Awesome! Im looking foreward to mighty lord running around with 9" of move and always fighting first :). Followup: Does the command ability get given to every hero in the slaughterhost?
  7. Forgive me if this has been asked before, but iisbthere a rule that says that only daemons or mortals can be taken in a slailighterhost? For example I cant see anything that stops me from taking a mighty lord of khorne as my general in The Bloodlords and givinghim the command trait and halo of blood artefact. Second question. Can the slaughterhost specific artefacts and traits be taken outside the slaughterhost? Third question. Skulltaker's command ability has the word Bloodletters bolded and in all caps, indicating its meant as a keyword. Bloodletters the unit had the Bloodletters keyword but skull cannons only have the Bloodletter keyword. Does Skulltaker's ability not work on the cannon then? If so does the Bloodmaster's "The Blood Must Flow" ability not work on Bloodletters as it specifies the Bloodletter keyword and not the Bloodletters keyword as the Bloodletters unit does not have the Bloodletter keyword.
  8. @Killax How do you use bloodletters in your first wave? I've been taking msu reavers as my initial speedbumps in my cannon focused list at 1000 points, but I was curious why you thought letters made a better screen. Usually I have the spare cp to make them bs immune and at 70 point/10 they speed bump pretty well on 32mm bases.
  9. I've found the cannon monger combo to be brutal even without the battalion. Put killing frenzy on a 2 or 3 man squad and park a bloodmaster next to the in blood lords. You now have a squad hitting on 2s rerolling 1s and against heros and monsters rerolling 1s to wound. Add to that if you get the brick in combat the master with the halo can make the cannons fighter before you even select a unit to fight within the phase.
  10. Its a change. Warscroll prayers are d3, blood blessings are 1, judgements are 0
  11. I played a list at 1k with 2 cannons in a unit with wrathmongers and a bloodmaster with the Bloodlords slaughterhost. With a priest giving them killing frenzy 4 shots at 30" on 2+ rr 1s and wounding on 3+ rr 1s was amazing for character and monster sniping. Plus when you move the brick up into cc the bloodmaster goes first with the relic and then causes the cannons to attack before you choose your first unit. TLDR. Its pretty solid A unit of skullcannons can have 1-3 models
  12. The leader can take it. He just doesnt give it an extra attack.
  13. Waiting for the FAQ to drop, but if GW intendes wrathmongers to buff skullcannon shots (which I think is plausible if not probable) then there is definately a case to be made with the recieve the charge and shoot, shoot, shoot lists. Having played it once already it was an incredibly different and fun way to play the army.
  14. None of the abilities reference replacement of each other and there are no limitations on the slaughterpriests in terms of thier casting attempts, so you can do 1 prayer, 1 blood blessing, 1 judgement, and attempt to unbind an endless spell all in the same hero phase with the same priest.
  15. "OP" lol ok. It makes skullcannons playable. If it really gets errataed then I guess its back to warming the bench for them. Sorry if it wasnt clear 4 shots for the unit of 2x skullcannons, so 2 shots per cannon.
  16. Just played a 1000 point game and I have to say Bloodmaster and skullcannons with Reapers of Vengence is nasty. Move a block of wrathmonger around with them and they are shooting 4 times, charging, the bloodmaster fights with the artefact and then lets the cannons fight, kill a model and shoot 4x again. With buffs I had 2x cannons hittingon 2s reroll 1s, wounding on 3s reroll ones against heros and monsters
  17. Hey @Killax I hahad posted this list a few pages back. I was interesting in hearing some feedback from you or others on it if you had a moment. Is it just not enough bodies/wounds for 2k? Thank you
  18. So the list I'm most excited to try is: Heros: Bloodthirster of IR Bloodsecrator 3x slaughterpriests Battleline: 2x 10 bloodreavers 1x5 blood warriors Units: 1x wrathmongers 1 unit of 3 skullcannons Battaltion: Gorepilgrims Host: Reapers of vengence Judgements: All 3 By my count thats 1880 points. Any suggestions on what to do with the extra points? Or what artifact to give the Bloodthirster? The pointof the list is to castle up in front of the Altar, buff the skullcannons and use the battleline to take objectives while the Bloodthirster provides rerolls via locus and a big scary bodyguard.
  19. Am I crazy or can we take skull cannons in squads? I always thought they were single model units, but 3 in a squad buffed by wrathmongers, killing frenzy, and bronzed flesh seems like a neat firebase around the altar
  20. So how to people feel about a hero compliment of 3 slaughter priests, a warshrine, a bloodsecrator, and a Bloodthirster at 2k? Filling the list around them will obviously have an impact, but having access to 4 priest models seems really neat. Also I was always under the impression that we didnt get blood tithe if the last model fled to battleshock. Is that not true?
  21. I don't see on the priest's new warscroll where blood boil would be limited. I had heard judgements and blood blessings were but not the bloodfuelled ones.
  22. I really hope the cannon doesn't get FAQed out. It actually makes the model desirable and I'd love to make an altar list with bloodthirsters guarding 3 cannons around the skull altar. With priests flinging prayers. A really "come get me" vibe.
  23. 1) I guess I just don't see how finishing instantly makes sense. If you finish the instant you roll a one, NOTE: it doesn't specify after rerolls in the rules you are quoting, many abilities do not make sense. 2) When GW wants to call out natural die rolls without modifiers they say "unmodified" in the description. Abilities that do not have those words are assumed to be effected by modifiers. I really dont want to come across as mean here I've just never come across this interpretation of these rules before and I am struggling to see how it can be read that way. Side note: A similar interaction in 40k with plasma weapons was faqed to be true and the rules between the two system are virtually identical in this particular regard.
