  1. Ok, here goes:

    Khelt Nar

160 Bloodwrack Shrine - General - Shadow Stone - Mindrazor

    220 HQoCoB - (KN artefact on the Avatar’s Sword if that’s legal? Don’t think he’s a mount)

    110 Ironscale

360 Sisters of Slaughter x30 (with blades for rule of cool, I know they aren’t as good)

    390 Blood Sisters x15

    260 Blood Sisters x10

    140 Bloodstalkers x5

    100 Khainite Shadowstalkers

    120 Doomfire Warlocks

    140 Scathcoven

    5 free Heartrenders

    2k

So I’m going for a combined arms list that’s flexible and mobile but also has some spiky blocks. The KN CA can make the SoS and BS an unappetising target as it’ll take a lot of wounds to sink but 1s to hit bounce back. Will have a few CPs in hand as Battleshock won’t be a massive issue. Retreat and charge can help me dictate combats, especially with the smaller units, which can screen or block out the backfield on deployment and then move or deep strike to harass enemy objectives early doors.

I have played it, 1-2 vs. a brutal Fuethan IDK list, which is a pretty big counter pick for the list as screens are useless, their movement is obscene and reroll 1s is awarded merely for existing. The list is fun to play though and has all my fave units in so I’m enjoying it.

Feel free to rip it to shreds!!

@Mutton a +1 caster has a 58% chance of resolving Mindrazor overall. Here is the breakdown by roll:

    • 16.67% chance of an 8
    • 13.88% chance of a 9
    • 11.11% chance of a 10
    • 8.33% chance of an 11
    • 5.56% chance of a 12
    • 2.77% chance of a 13

Chances of it NOT being unbound on a flat unbinding roll, +1, and +2 respectively:

    • 8: 72.23%, 58.33%, 41.67%
    • 9: 83.33%, 72.23%, 58.33%
    • 10: 91.67%, 83.33%, 72.23%
    • 11: 97.23%, 91.67%, 83.33%
    • 12:  100%, 97.23%, 91.67%
    • 13: 100%, 100%, 97.23%

So overall with a +1 caster you have the following chances:

    • 58.33% against no unbind
    • 50.22% against a flat unbind
    • 44.82% against +1 unbind
    • 37.8% against +2 unbind

Assuming you have a +1 caster then no, Mindrazor isn't reliably resolvable on any particular turn but over the course of the game you should be a solid favorite to get it off at least once even against +2 to unbind. Against anything less than +2 you're pretty likely to get it off multiple times in a game. Note that rerollable unbinds are probably a bit less effective than a +2, but better than a +1.

You’re a legend. Am I right in thinking that there’s also a reroll casts artefact as well? In which case, which is better out of +1 to cast and reroll to cast? That’s probably loads of work but would be super grateful if you had any stats knocking about.

  3. Anyone got any pro tips to stop my Sisters of Slaughter from tipping over and getting all tangled up in each other whenever anyone looks at them funny? Cheers!!

EDIT: Also, while I’m asking questions about SoS, can anyone explain to me how you can use the 6” pile-in to fight without taking an attack back? I feel like I’ve heard it’s possible to attack Eels first on turn 3 for example by lurking outside of 3”?

  4. Love the look of that Khelt Nar. Reflecting MWs back on a 1 to hit looks mean on a big block of Blood Sisters. Unmodified 1s - is that before or after rerolls?

Ah hang on, I have ‘rerolls before modifiers’ in my head for some reason, think that’s it. Either way, gonna try this tomorrow:

    Khelt Nar

160 Bloodwrack Shrine General Arcane Mastery Mindrazor

    220 HQoC 1001 Dark Blessings Martyr’s Sacrifice

    110 Ironscale

    360 Sisters of Slaughter x30

    390 Blood Sisters x15

    260 Blood Sisters x10

    140 Bloodstalkers x5

    100 Khainite Shadowstalkers

    80 Heart EP

    40 Snake ES

    140 Scathcoven

    5 free Heartrenders

    5 drops

    2000

  5. What’s the verdict on the non-shooty harpies by the way chaps? Worth taking if you have an 80 point gap?

Basically, I’ve arrived at wanting to try the below after a decent few friendly playtest games over Xmas, had to turn 20 snakes into 15 and Heartrenders into Lifetakers to get a Shrine into my list:

    Allegiance: Daughters of Khaine
    - Temple: Khailebron
    Bloodwrack Shrine (210)
    - General
    - Command Trait: Mistress of Illusion
    - Artefact: Shadow Stone
    - Lore of Shadows: Mindrazor
Hag Queen on Cauldron of Blood (290)
    - Artefact: Thousand and One Dark Blessings
    - Prayer: Catechism of Murder
    Melusai Ironscale (140)
    15 x Blood Sisters (420)
    10 x Blood Sisters (280)
    30 x Sisters of Slaughter (300)
    - Barbed Whips and Sacrificial Knives
    5 x Blood Stalkers (140)
    5 x Khinerai Lifetakers (80)
    Scathcoven (140)

    Total: 2000 / 2000
    Extra Command Points: 1
    Allies: 0 / 400
    Wounds: 127

  6. Had a couple of games with the list above, probably nothing new to anyone here but will share a couple of quick impressions.

Played vs. IDK, me and the missus both picked up Aelves as armies to learn together. Never played vs. IDK before so just got smashed in High Tide first game on a semi-narrative battleplan.

2nd game got a bit wiser and switched to Hagg Nar, not even funny how much better it is. Didn’t miss the extra attacks from the ZK CA at all. By turn 3/4 the 20 BS and SoS were blending everything. Crazy powerful. Lost on Starstrike by a decent margin but basically would’ve won if I’d won priority into turn 5. Unit of 5 Stalkers are a nice little objective holder and MW plinker too.

Really enjoying the army, love the overlapping buffs and insane blending abilities. Multiple boxes of snakes incoming.

I think the ironscale is only worth considering if you're not running morathi, because thats the only time you're going to have the CP available for hercommand ability. I do think its a mistake investing in her +1 attack ability on her warscroll though. Youre going to lose too many snakes when you activate the ironscale first. Better to just use the zainthar Kai CA for +1 attack and keep the ironscale out of combat. Snakes at 4 attacks each are going to hurt a lot of things. I like running the crown of woe on the ironscale. Youre going to heavily depend on mindrazor to push damage through against some armies. Crown of woe will help make sure you get the +1 damage by putting out the -1 bravery aura, and she has a shooting attack that will let her extend the aura range without putting her in combat.

You’re quickly becoming one of my favourite people, super helpful again man, many thanks.

  8. How about this one as a snake blender? Too few heroes / Hags? Venom is on the Ironscale to get more chance of the buff proc-ing for the Sisters. As before, feedback very gratefully received.

    Allegiance: Daughters of Khaine
    - Temple: Zainthar Kai
    Bloodwrack Medusa (140)
    - General

    - Lore of Shadows: Mindrazor
Hag Queen on Cauldron of Blood (290)
    - Artefact: Thousand and One Dark Blessings
    - Prayer: Catechism of Murder
    Melusai Ironscale (140)
    - Artefact: Bloodbane Venom
    30 x Sisters of Slaughter (300)
    - Barbed Whips and Sacrificial Knives
    20 x Blood Sisters (480)
    10 x Blood Sisters (280)
    5 x Blood Stalkers (140)
    5 x Khinerai Heartrenders (90)

    Wounds: 130

  9. What ho chaps. Any thoughts on my take on the snake list much appreciated, thinking buffed mobile shooting to back up a snakey blender with little to no battleshock issues and some cheeky deepstrike shenanigans. Not sure if the prayers / spells are on point tbh but any feedback would be ace.

  10. Morning all,

I know this has probably been asked a million times already but if someone could humour me I’d be really grateful: Harvesters - can they only replace MODELS slain with 3” of them? So they need to be sat in pretty much the exact place where you’re removing Mortek Guard models from a unit, for example? Does that hamper their utility as much as I think it does?

Hello fellow soon to be followers of Morathislaanesh

I had a theory months ago and it still stands.

Morathi becomes the new Slaanesh. She wants to be a god and doesnt give a ****** how

Slaanesh is still imprisoned or MIA. Morathi was in WFB the original Cult of Slaanesh person.

Morathi escaped from Slaanesh, and has been biding her time to find a way to absorb Slaanesh.

Morathi breaks her allies to basically eat Slaanesh, and becomes the new chaos god and reforms the Cult of Slaanesh (hence which box set is DOK vs Slaanesh. Slaanesh side are tryin to stop her, fail and become her minions so you get to use both parts of the box set if you want as an army)

New temple is Zainthar Kai (or Cobra Kai ;) ) which is a snake temple

It’s a tricky one, I do like your theory though. Slaanesh’s prison is getting weaker so he’s gonna get out at some point. If they become one and the same that makes a lot of stuff very complicated. The story beat I’d love to see if what happens to DoK when they realise she’s stringing them along with all the blood sacrifice stuff.

Yeah the best HoS builds are definitely either a sea of Marauders or hyper msu Depraved drove.

The question is if the Infernal Enrapturess is good enough to take or not. At 120 I think there is no reason not to take them, but 140 starts to add up quickly and it's a big hit to your drops.

But there is a non-negotiable piece here; Be'lakor. Being able to shut down a power piece while they are in a vulnerable position is a stupendous power.

Yeah, I’m having a serious look at Be’lakor at the moment, that ability is bananas good.
