Very excited by the new models, didn’t like Teclis at first but he’s growing on me. Eltharion is fantastic!
I like that they have the whole high elf thing going on and that they’re quite grounded. I love the ‘out there’ factions of AOS as well and having a bit of both just means there’s something for everyone!- 1

If I boost the jezzails damage with +1, and then roll a 6 to hit, what happens?
I think you do two mortal wounds, as on a 6 to hit the attack sequence ends so you no longer have a damage characteristic.

Does anyone know where to find a good tutorial for sculpting acolyte gas masks? I’ve got a few from the lightning cannon kit but I doubt I’ll have enough to kit out all my acolytes so wanna try my hand at making some
-
So this month I’m going with:
convert 20 Skryre acolytes
paint 3 gnawholes
paint a grey seer
paint at least 20 clanrats

Thanks for the replies guys. Think I will go with the cave idea. @kamuffinz thanks for the link I’ll definitely throw a few of those in. @sorokyl your army looks fantastic!

Hi all, looking into starting fyreslayers myself in the near future. I’ll likely end up with 20 or so HGB but I’m not sure what to equip them with? The poleaxes look great for mortal wounds but the Broadaxes seem a little more reliable. Which way would you guys go?

Hi guys, there has been a few great third party miniature designers lately.
for example there has been a great Modellen skaven clawlord miniature that might come soon.
so yeah hier it is hope you all like it
sure the bonebracker May have lost its existence, but this model could be a great representation of a clawlord on Brood horror, just put it on a bigger base, and voila your much better looking clawlord on Brood horror.
also for those who are interested, can give their own ideas up for which model could be designed next.
hiers the link:
Looks amazing, is it just a concept atm or can you actually buy it?

So if you have a brick of 40 plague monks, with no buffs are you better off with blades or woe staves?
-
@Kramer that’s actually an interesting point I hadn’t really thought of it like that. Currently I use units of 20 and am looking at going up to 40 man units soon, was planning on going spears as it seemed the obvious choice but when you factor in that they die to a stiff breeze or less blades may be the better option!
Perhaps if you use 3x units of 40 and maybe death frenzy you can be confident you’ll have enough bodies to benefit from spears but maybe less than that it’s not worth it so much. Certainly worth looking into for me.

Tons of superb info here! Currently assembling a 2k+ Skaven Skryre army.
Been wondering about a couple of things. For the Grey Seer, when he does 3D6 cast, does he use a a warpstone token of the stock you rolled for (3 + D3)? Or is it just a explanation on paper.Same goes for Thanquol. If you don't include any skryre units in your list, to get those waprstone tokens, how can he then use a warpstone token? Get what I'm trying to point out?:)
Also, wondering why people take clanrats with spears instead of swords, since the swords are easier to get a hit with.
Thx in advance:)
Thanquol and the grey seer warpstone tokens aren’t the same thing as warpstone sparks. Sparks are the Skryre resource, so it doesn’t cost for grey seers to use them.
Spears have 2” range rather than one, so more rats can attack at once. It’s better with large numbers and buffs. If you go for less rats in a unit than blades are better.
hope that helps

So I cracked open my first box of plague monks today and there are tonnes of rats on the sprue. Anyone thrown these on bases and used them as giant rats?
Are they big enough, is one big enough to fill out a base or are you better off with two?
-
@Gwendar those rat ogres look fantastic! How do you think you will tackle bigger things like the screaming bell. Would love to see a verminlord with that scheme!
Also how are you going to base them?

@Overread Thanks! Like I said, the whole idea is more of a Sin-City\Selective-Desaturation so it's kind of meant to be black\white\grey with pops of bright color. For other mini's, I most certainly would be using glazes to give a full amount of color. I'll probably do that for my Legion of Azgorh or FeC when I get around to it.
I'm doing some Rat Ogors in the same manner today, so we'll see how I feel about it after they're done.Pics of the rat ogres please! I really like the sin city look you’ve got going there!

i really like this tutorial for clanrats, I think somebody posted it on TGA before but I can’t remember who

Is it not the case with most armies though? Like Putrid Blightkings are battleline in a pure Nurgle army and to be a Nurgle army all units must have the keyword.
Then allies are a seperate thing, if nothing else I feel that’s the way it’s intended but it’s certainly not written in a clear enough manner
-
So many fun looking units it’s hard to decide what I want. I think to start with I’ll go with something along the lines of:
Verminlord Warpseer
Screaming Bell
Warlock Engineer/Bombardier
Clawlord
Plague priest/Claw Lord40 clanrats
40 clanrats
40 clanrats
40 plague monksWarp lightning cannon
Warp lightning cannonShould be a fun list to try although I’m worried there will be some overlap between the Bell and the warpseer battleshock abilities

I sort of hope its not, if only because that would set in stone the idea that skaven will get individual clan battletomes. I'd far rather they gave them a universal update in advance of a new unified tome. It might be as simple as giving skaven the ability to take any other clan skaven keyword armies without the allies limit and then providing a few battalions and an alliance ability or two.
That would be interesting and I certainly think that should at least happen with clanrats. I feel Pestilins are quite distinct from the other skaven though and as they have their own Battletome already my feeling is that they will stay that way. I expect Skryre will keep their allegiance and be in the back of the Skaven Battletome much like Soulblight and then the book will have options to mix and match like you said.
Just my (un) edjucated guesswork though. At least we can take away that Skaven are coming and that’s exciting
-
So the recent rumours suggest that a lot of AOS 1 books will be updated in one week releases and that Skaven will get a small release this year and a big one next year. So Carrion armoured aside maybe the ‘small’ release will just be an updated Pestilins Battletome?
-
Ah thanks for the link I was unaware of that, haven’t played Sigmar since 2.0 came out so a little confused on where everything is sometimes.
also I was wondering what people thought about endless spells for Skryre, I’ve heard Cogs are pretty much universally good and Balewind for an Arch Warlock is great, but what about others? I’m quite unfamiliar with most of them.
cheers

So I read somewhere that Stormfiends are meant to be on 50mm rounds, but I bought two boxes and cracked them open today to find 60mm rounds in them.
So I assume they’re supposed to be on 60s now?

I imagine there will at least be a kit for some elites, a mage, a buff guy and a lord on foot and mounted.
Hoping for a large centrepiece kit, would love for there to be a generic hero on the Sphinx thing!
