  1. If they have anything more for AoS they will probably leave it for a later reveal- could see some Warcry news at least but I'd think they would need get caught up a little releasing some of what they have shown already. Would love some fresh Nid stuff- I'll not hold my breath but I get the feeling that this next 40k edition is going to be more Xenos focused rather than chaos.. iIt would be nice if they gave us a little taste of what the future of 40k will bring, not just a new starter set, a bit like when they trailed the Psychic awakening books..
  2. Well I am remembering from a section posted at the time on a forum - probably Warseer - I didn't read the book but there was a quote around the final fall of the dwarf kingdoms. It was implied he was taking the dwarfs elsewhere - Dwarfs would endure even if this world fell to paraphrase. This was pre AoS but would fit.. a bit like the Wood elf character taking his people to alternative realm .. but I haven't been aware of Bugman actually being in the Realms.. Hadn't read that about Bugman before but my AoS knowledge is pretty limited .. so he's been referenced even in a passing way in the lore.. that s good
  3. Me too.. Bugman and his brewers have been a thing for me since 1st edition WFB .. he seemed to become more than a master brewer towards the end of WFB.. hope he appears properly in AoS.. I think he was said to be guiding dwarf refugees via hidden paths to a safe place at the End Times..
  4. The bear looks awesome!Although what I'm continued to be excited about is Norse Dwarfs on the map... Norse Dwarfs with bears would almost be too much.. almost....
  5. I thought it was just me! As it should be .. beards before a bodiless elf..
  6. Ooo those are really nice! Love your colour work- the red on the runesmith's robe and the blue on the Thane's cloak are excellent. Nice work on the metals too and of course fantastic beard work [key to a proper dwarf force ]. How did you do the bases with the grass? Just static grass?
  7. Yeah I'd definitely think a Warcry war band is likely- I hope they go a bit nuts with the war bands in terms of outlier designs. I like your idea of a FEC damsel on a unicorn!
  8. I would love a Kurnothi war band - the Underworlds set is gorgeous, I'm not expecting them as a full faction soon so a Warcry set would be ace [very tempted to have them as second force beside my Kharadron]. Maybe a dispossessed/dwarf war band ? Really looking forward to how they explore and expand upon the races and factions. The Khainite war band looks really cool already- be tempted to buy a set even though I don't collect DoK, I love how they seem to have added elements outside of what currently exists for DoK but fit really well. Maybe they will expand by picking races from the different realms varying between Destruction/order/Death/chaos..
  9. I'm pretty excited about Warcry war bands for non chaos factions- they look to be very collectable but add to ranges in terms of bits [model wise]- but I don't see them as added as a single unit- they should be smaller, skirmishing/individual models - kind of like how lictors etc work for Nids in 40k. They add a granular element to add detail to forces. But yes a lot of current factions need additional units and models- I look at the ranges and they seem very very shallow [and I'm more of a collector/modeller. Fyreslayers andFEC are particularly suffering, Sylvaneth and DoK aren't great either - I'm still concerned that GW are still pursuing their initially plan with AoS to just continually release new micro factions and just maintain rule support for existing armies. But its still relatively early days [and I really want a Kurnothi army so they need to keep doing new stuff!]. Yeah - I read that story and went "yup" .. and then was surprised to read all the complaints.. Interestingly someone on Dakka looked at AoS releases- the unique models for Underworlds and Warcry, the new factions coming out keeping things fresh and wished 40k had that development team.. I do think AoS is more vibrant than 40k at the moment. They should add faction specific war bands for Kill Team and do something similar to Underworlds and they really need to break away from the "Imperium vs Chaos" [although I'm taking the release of the new Xenos Inquistor and storyline as a signal that Xenos are going to step up. AoS is so good because of the 4 big factions, and within them there is good variety- order isn't just Stormcast [which have their place obviously] but includes Flying Dwarfs, Tree people and Fish Elves, Chaos isn't just warriors- its beastmen, daemons, Skaven.. Of course the 40k armies are pretty complete at this stage - which gives GW the problem of where do they go with them.. killteam war bands exploring other angles of the factions would be a starting point.. [and they need to bring back the squats..]
  10. WhiteFang suggested that was the case- there is more but they won't be released all at once. This is the first wave evidently - further waves will be the other aspects presumably .. I hope they drop some hints of what other war bands are coming for Warcry- the shadow aelves look great- love how they add detail to a faction. Honestly GW should do the same with Killteam for 40k- some of the ranges are big but are now lacking in detail.
  11. Loved that reveal! The Khainite Warcry war band looks brilliant- I love the models but also super excited that they might bring other factions out in a similar style as that scale of box is very collectable and could add a lot of model depth to ranges/break new ground for factions. Personally I'd love Kurnothi, or a Kharadron/dispossesed/dwarf war band - but excited to see what they bring. The giants - not my thing but they look fantastic - great kit/sculpt and the extras will be great for bits. Love to get my hands on the boat backpack for starters! Snotlings- fun sculpts. Blackstone- very nice!- what comes next is very interesting. The 40k stuff impressed me - I like the shift of focus to Xenos as being the big threat with Necrons as first up. Both models are really nice- not my factions but fantastic [I'd love to see a NId special character done that way!]. The future looks potentially promising. The event models- I really like that sister model- I don't want an army but I'd be keen to get her just to paint up. Very well done- looking forward to the next one in May! Well done the Community team!!
  12. Yeah- they are right to save something for May with how the lockdown is going. Its good to have something to look forward to still. A second season of Warcry war bands could be very interesting if they explore elements of other factions other than chaos, it would be a good opportunity to add to some factions model line. I doubt it but you can always hope..
  13. I got some Melusai bits there - I think the blood bowl parts might be tricky- especially during lockdown but we will see. [I'm in the uk] Might see what else I can use..
  14. Ebay or a bits dealer? I had a wee look - tricky to get the torsos and heads. Tempted to buy the boxes but I'd hate the waste!
  15. Cheers! You must have some size of a bits box!! Looking forward to whatever you do next!
  16. God yes.. 40k is pretty dull right now. AoS seems a lot more vibrant with all the different factions.
  17. Those centaurs are amazing! Fantastic conversions and your painting is, as ever, wonderful! I just got the Kurnothi war band and was thinking of adding to then- you've given me loads of ideas. Cain I ask where the braided hair came from?
  18. This is the model I got as a Runesmith- female dwarf smith from Reaper https://www.reapermini.com/search/female dwarf/latest/14082 Hoping we get some female Kharadron sometime- love the imagery in the new book and the story Code of the Skies. Interested to see what the rebirth of Warhammer will bring- hoping for proper Norse Dwarfs- the return of the Magnificent Sven and maybe dwarf berserkers! I know the White Dwarf is around the mortal realms - anything on Bugman? He started off as a brewmaster on a revenge mission but towards the end of Warhammer he seemed to have become something more.
  19. Going between painting Tyranids [genestealers] and Kurnothi/sylvaneth.. really love the models, a bit frustrating that there is only 5 kurnothi models as they are really nice, might buy another set and try some conversions/torso swaps. Going for a dark/warm forest feel with bright hair/tails/eyes as a contrast- might try different hair colours across the models. Might try some warpaint as well, going to base them with scrub/grasses. I'll be getting back to my Kharadron as well. I'm enjoying going between the different factions so I don't get bored with one pallet ..
  20. I'd love them to start using Warcry to bring out sets for non chaos factions to explore them a bit more and add more variety and depth to ranges. Especially if they were cross compatible with the rest of the relevant ranges. Would love to see a Warcry Kharadron box, or add to the Underworlds Kurnothi war band with a Warcry war band. They'd be a great source of bits and conversions to allow folks to customise their forces collections as even the larger new factions like Kharadron don't have much model depth.
  21. Good catch- I like the look of that model- very calm- looks like river with a water dragon/creature- might pick her up as a painting project. Very surprised by the mountain bull creatures - I like how they have developed them, the bull helmets remind me of a empire/bretonian knight that had a tall helmet crest topped with a bull. They definitely have that high culture/zen Tibetan/ Chinese feel. Be interesting see the other aspects- they aren't my particular thing but I like where they are taking the faction. Really pleased that they decided to split the reveal over 2 weekends - nice to have something to look forward to next week rather than have everything at once and I thought it was quite nice the personal nature of it all how they where all in their different homes contributing. Felt like community which is much needed in the current climate- I've been in self quarantine for the last 5 days feeling ill with something so I appreciate the distraction [thankfully im feeling a bit better and hoping it keeps to this upward curve].
  22. Did not expect them to close the factories and distribution - fair play to them. Think they will keep up the reveals.. maybe spread out a bit because I think they want to support the community - and we all get excited about new stuff- so they could well show us some things - creates demand for when they reopen. Its also important for them to keep the community engaged.
  23. Yeah at the moment the factories can keep going - they can't manufacture for home! The social media stuff and probably some of the design work could be done a work form home if resourced properly. The post is an essential service so will keep going. Bricks and mortar stores will be hit as this stage.. might change moving forward..
  24. Didn't expect them to go north .. I hope they do Norse Dwarfs- they'd be perfect- give Dwarf players something new, something that hasn't been worked on in a very long time...
  25. Cheers for that- just ordered one for my gaming buddy and long time skaven adversary as a late birthday present. Hopefully it will get him back gaming once he recovers from having children!!
