  1. I think it's highly likely that it's part of Deepkins Endless Spells, I expect LoN, Nurgle, DoK and ID to get some kind of endless spells (maybe even bundled together with next magic expansion as GW confirmed more neautral endless spells as well) as they won't get new books anytime soon and it's  GW plan to make endles spells for every faction that has Battletome.

  2. Realms were in play here as well and it was fine for me with two unbinds. Really great and got Mindrazor when I needed it.

Morathi isn't that good anymore, in majority of match ups more bodies are just flat out better and I have played like over 100 games in Morathi (I won Throne of Skulls with her last year) but endless spells, Nagash and particular match ups do not favor her in HaggNarr unless you wanna play Draichi (and I got sick army build) I think Sisters are much better.

  3. My lists was

    Slaughter Queen on Cauldron

    2xHagQueen

    Bloodwrack Medusa

    20 Sisters of Slaughter

    10 Sisters of Slaughter

    30 Witches

    20 Blood Sisters

    2x5 Heartrenders

    Slaughter Troupe.

Played against amazing opponents with very tough armies (Almost all Eels Deepkins, Laurie Sylaventh, 120 Plague Monks Skavens, Beasts of Chaos army which won Masters and Sheffield Slaughter and then Deepkins again).

Lost final game as James gambled with Alpha Striking my whole army and I wanted him to take that gamble as he got only mortal wounds to kill a Cauldron and mathematically it should survive - it didn't (20 mortal wounds!!! or so and I only made 6 saves) so it was quite easy from that moment to kill rest of my troops by turn 4.

I managed to win 4 close games and got a little unlucky but James was class act and played his army so good :)

Anyway great showing for my DoK build also 8800 killpoints :D

  4. Considering Aelves I think it's more likely we wil see Tyrion's Elfs first as GW can  "hide"Shadowkin or whatever Malerion's Aelves are called in the shadows for a while and I think AoS really need some good guys - as there are SCE who aren't per se good and that's all Deepkins, DoK, KO aren't really good. Releasing another dark themed "order" army doesn't make much sens but who knows ;)

There seems to be some confusion, locally, and I was hoping you folks could help clear the air.

During High Tide, does the deepkin player get to attack first during both turns of that battle round or just their half of the round?

    Both

Is there any reason to have a hag queen on the cauldron? I can see a purpose to having the slaughter queen and the bloodwrack, but the hag on the cauldron doesn't seem to bring a lot of extra value as opposed to the slaughter queen.

Side question: how do I bring in a quote? I wanted to quote what Dante said but I can't seem to get it to work.

Yes there is in any Snake heavy army when you want Medusa as your general Hag Queen on Cauldron is much better and cheaper option then Slaughter Queen. Otherwise SQ is better.

    Hello all,

I have a question. When building an army of 2000 pts, is Morathi a must-take? I ask as, for that that point cost, I could have for example a bloodwrack shrine and almost a full unit of witch aelves, or two units of 10 Blood Sisters and Heartrenders, etc.  How top-heavy (leaders) should I look at making the army? I figure a CoB should be in there, probably a hag or two, after that I'm not sure how much I should be throwing into units vs. non-units.

Also, has anyone tried the sorcerer in the army as opposed to a Medusa? Is there any benefit or just stick with the Medusa?

    Thanks in advance.

I am bringing Morathi-less army to Grand Tournament in two weeks so yes I guess you could be fine without Morathi.

I think Sorceress isn't good alternative, Medusa has more wounds, great anti horde shooting, access to Allegiance Abilities and access to Lore of Shadows (Mindrazor) also she is DoK hero so she can be used to give your Witches +1A.

Unless you wanna go really Snake heavy Slaughter Queen on Cauldron and two Hag Queens are must have in any army.

  8. It's bascially old same song and dance, new BT - power creep worries.

FEC seems strong ? But are they really more powerful then SCE, Nagash, DoK and Deepkins ? Don't think so they might be at similar level but they won't absue meta

For me Skavens aren't that good Tier 2 at best but we will see, and Deepkins with ability to nulify shooting should be fine against them.

Deepkins are lovely army to play with as I enjoy them much more then my DoK sure their playstyle is obvious right know with Morssar spams but it's really, really hard to master - one bad decision and instatnly you're behind.

That's why I don't think so we will see dramatic changes in GH2019, I would love 80 points discount on Leviadon and 40 points of Eidolons and I have some ideas how to make totally different army with Leviadon if it is cheaper.  Maybe some tweaks to Reavers and Soulrender point cost.

In fact a lot of issues could be fixed with points costs like 120 points Allopex maybe makes sense (especially with Morssar go up to 180 for example)

Reavers for 120 and Soulrender for 80 make easier to use for example Namarati Battlions (especially if it drops 20 points for example)

Eidolon of Storm for 360-380 would be nice,

Eidolon of Sea is different story becasue he lacks few things :

    - any cast bonuses

    - good spells (his spell is very good but he needs to be near enemy to take full advantage of it) especially when there is easy access to -1 to hit spells. - could be fixed with some cool Deepkin endless spells I think we will get at some point this year.

  9. II doubt it

    Eidolon has many things going

    - it's not a monster

    - can take magical item

    - isn't losing anything with wounds take

-has access to fantastic Allegiance Abilities

    - 14" move with fly

I don't expect nothing dramatic from GH 2019 my bet is

    Eidolons - 40

    Reavers - 20

    Leviadon - 80

    Soulrender - 20

    Shark - 20

    Morssar +20

    Battalions - 20

  10. I don't get this complaining about Deepkin they are powerful and very cool army to play with it. I love it as even spamming Morssar in Fuethan isn't auto pilot and forces to pick your targets carefully and plan everything in advance.

    Considering points

Eidolons are overpriced a little 20-40 points decrease would be quite handy

Maybe Reavers should get 20 points decrease

Leviadon would need 80-100 decrease to be viable

    And Sharks like 40-60

But I don't see such dramatic point changes.

    Heroes are fine especially Tidecaster.

  11. @KaleunMaking your Medusa General in second list is bad idea, she needs to be 7'' from your units along with Cauldron (Bloodshield) and with 6W she will be targeted a lot as HaggNarr 5++ is very powerful. Sure can be done to shield her but it's not so easy, she's fine as Khailebron general as she can sit away from trouble. Also not having spare CP in a multi-drop army isnt the best idea as some armies like SCE or Deepins can really exploit it (that's why I dropped my Snakes army - it was Medusa on foot as general or no sprare CP)

  12. I've used 10 Warlocks in HaggNarr army I won Throne of Skulls Europe with but for 320 but they are hardly worth 320 points, they look cool on paper. Units of 5 on the other hand could be good, if you do't run Medusa with Shadow Stone they are better as choice as spellcasters then Medusa they are 20points more expensive, but faster, more wounds, better spell (when there is 5 of them)

Problem with Dok spellcasters is that they are pretty average and expensive, Morathi is cool but you can't keep her in small form forever and after that you don't have reliable caster as no other model casts more then one spell or have some kind of casting bonus.

Also I dropped Morathi from my GT list as she isn't that good against metaarmies and she is kind of big point sink against Nagash.

  13. I would never use Executioners over Blood Sisters, and I play A LOT with Blood Sisters.

You must compare them in DoK army taking allegiance abilities into play (for example BS have 6++) the beauty of buffs and synergies in DoK is that you use them on what you need. Witchbrew and prayers are easy to use and opponent can do little to stop it, then there is Cauldron aura, Slaughter Queen Command Ability. In army I am taking to GT there is Slaughter Queen with Blessing okf Khaine, Medusa with Mindrazor, 2xHag Queen with prayers to buff those Snake Girls. There is so many synergies that even by simply keeping Blood Sisters near General I have +1 save ,5++  and Command Ability. Cast Mindrazor on them and they hit like a truck with no other buffs.

  14. @kozokus not really, firstly you need to survive until turn 3 - so you got to be quite clinical with deployment and picking your targets then you got to have units in combats you want on 3rd turn and there is possiblity for your opponent to play around this.

Fuethan Alpha strike gives you more possibilities as you can go second in 1 st battle round and then attack first in both tuns in 2nd round. With ability to run&charge Turn 1 you can go anywhere on the table especially with Soulscryers .

In my opinon Tidecaster Fuethan armies are slightly better but you can have great resuts with Volturnos/King builds as well. So it's not like it's auto include to have Tidecaster general in competitive Deepkins.

Seems a lot of people consider tidecaster general to be superior to volturnoa general. Is there any reason beyond that?

Yep as you can reverse tides which coupled with Fuethan enclave gives you ability to serious alpha strike possibilities.

If I wanted to do King/Volturnos build, what would I do? I like the model for the king a lot and if I can play with that and be competitive, I'd like to.

Thanks for the help so far!

I've played some games with Volturnos + 2xScoulScryer + Aspect of the Storm + 9,6,6 Morssars

Are Akhelian Kings/Volturnos not competitive? Why reavers? I have heard they are bad.

Akhelian King/Volturnos are competitive but Fuethan-Reverse Tide Tidecaster armies are better comeptitive-wise.

Reavers are quite good, they are doing a lot of small, important things like grabbing/guarding objectives
